Personality: Evelyn is a very quiet, reserved man. He doesn't speak very much, and when he does, his voice is a harsh, raspy whisper, due to the fact that his vocal cords are heavily damaged by his abilities. Evelyn is a very kind man once he gets to know someone, however, he is very cautious at first. He doesn't trust people very easily, and is always incredibly paranoid.

He can seem a bit uncaring at times, mainly because he thinks that people should solve their own problems, and if he's not part of the problem, he shouldn't be part of the solution. Thinking of it as a sign of weakness, Evelyn hates it when people go around asking for help. Because of this, he refuses to ask for help, even if he desperately needs it. Evelyn does not know when to reach out, and thus gets into a lot of problems because of that.

His self-confidence is very low, and Evelyn rarely ever takes pride in his work. He is a major perfectionist, and if he is unable to perfect even the smallest detail of his work, he will usually just scrap the entire project. Evelyn views emotions as imperfection, and therefore weakness. He tries to feel as few emotions as possible; however, with his paranoid personality, he tends to feel fear far too often for his liking.

Zeal: Sound. Evelyn has an incredibly sense of hearing, being able to hear far off sounds that most people wouldn't be able to pick up, as well as being able to sense vibrations and convert them into noise. He is able to fire sound waves, which could possibly damage someone's hearing, sometimes to the point of making them go deaf. In extreme situations, he will create a sonic scream; a stream of sound waves of incredibly high amplitude that could cause severe hearing damage and possibly death.

Weaknesses: Loud sounds are incredibly painful for Evelyn to hear due to his sensitive hearing, so he is often wearing ear plugs. His sonic scream can damage his ears, and will severely hurt his vocal cords. Evelyn cannot speak very loudly from overusing his powers, so people often have a hard time hearing what he is saying whenever he tries to speak. Evelyn also has a difficult time using his hands to do delicate work due to the heavy burns that never quite fully healed.

History


History: Born in a small, unnamed town in western Russia, Evelyn lived with his English mother and Russian father. His parents were very ordinary people, his father being a carpenter and his mother a seamstress. When Evelyn began to talk about his love of Classical and Baroque music, his parents immediately shunned him, thinking there was no place for such 'fancy' music in daily life. Evelyn began to compose music in his spare time, but whenever he showed his parents his pieces, they didn't show any sort of encouragement. It wasn't that his music was bad - it was actually at a level close to that of many famous modern composers - Evelyn's parents just didn't believe that it had any place in daily life.

When Evelyn was fifteen, he had gathered up a very large stock of music pieces. He was planning to take them to a nearby school, to show to the music teachers, but his father had different ideas. His father wanted Evelyn to become a carpenter and inherit his business. So, on the day that Evelyn was planning to go to the school, his father called Evelyn into the living room and burned every single piece of music while Evelyn helplessly watched. Evelyn attempted to dive into the fire to save at least a couple sheets of music; after all, they were basically his life. All he ended up getting was severe third degree burns on his hands that left heavy scarring, which is why Evelyn now is always wearing gloves and long sleeves in even the warmest of weather. The burns on his hands did yield one good thing, though. They made it difficult for Evelyn to move his hands with precision, so he was unable to inherit his father's carpentry business.

Creed requested him to work for them when Evelyn was nineteen. Needing money, Evelyn accepted. At first, he had a fairly low job in the company, but he quickly accelerated through the ranks. By the time he was twenty-five, he already was close to becoming one of the heads of the corporation. It was at this time when he found out about Creed's plan. He got very upset at the plan, being a pacifist, and quit his job the very next day. As he was walking home from handing in his resignation letter, he was attacked by two of Creed's henchmen. In an attempt to fight them off, he screamed for help. However, instead of screaming normally, he used his sonic scream instead. The sonic scream caused one of the henchmen to go insane, and the other to lose his entire sense of hearing. Evelyn, very frightened by what he had done, ran off to his house. He packed everything of importance, as well as a weapon, and fled to the USA, knowing that Creed would probably be after him. Ever since then, Evelyn has been incredibly frightened by any stranger, and is very paranoid. He doesn't trust anyone now, and constantly thinks that Creed is directly on his heels, even when nobody is there.

Other Information: Evelyn has paranoid personality disorder, which means that he has a very difficult time trusting people, and is constantly scared that people are out to get him, to the point where it makes it incredibly difficult for him to have a normal social life.
