"Thanks." Kristin sat down. She spotted a remote on the table and picked it up, turning on the television and switching to the news channel.
"Another teenage girl has been reported missing. Kristin Maria Robertsson's bed was found empty on the morning of the eighth of February. She disappeared from Rosewood Orphanage. Miss Robertsson has been a resident of Rosewood Orphanage for three years." The camera panned to show Mrs. Canning, the lady who ran Rosewood Orphanage. She was sniffing and holding a handkerchief. "Kristin has always been a quiet and studious girl. Many of our children here have been friends with her. We hope that she comes back soon. If you see Kristin, please call 84356245. Thank you."
Kristin rolled her eyes. Mrs. Canning had never cared for me. All that pretense was probably to earn sympathy points. She sat back and frowned at the television, listening to the rest of the report.

"Sympathy..." She laughed slightly. "The others, well," She looked to Caitlyn and Eden, "What about them? They seem to be... a little preoccupied with lollipops and plexiglass shelters."

The note was written on lined paper, its words in black pen in a delicate cursive. It had landed in front of Brittany on the floor at her shoes, her voice came back the second it hit the floor.

Brittany looked sheepishly around. Without thinking she snatched the paper from the ground and looked it over, using the corners of her eyes to look at the other girls. The seemed to be doing other things, busy, and one of them was watching news. As she read over the note, she decided it would be important, and after she read it she would read it out loud.
The Note:
"The speakers, we have shut them down for the time being until the challenge. There will be no sounds until the tomorrow is over. The challenge is located in JUNGLE OF CONFUSION. The time it starts is 8:00PM (eastern time). If you are not ready, there will be a waiting time limit- from seven to eight pm (eastern time). If you are not awake, by this time, you must keep your turn out of the challenge. However, if there are half or more than half of you that cannot compete for some reason, the challenge will be postponed on a later, more discussed date.
With this being said, you should all discuss your strategy after reading the challenge statistics below:

Type: Team work [if there are uneven, then Op will be submitted to the one left alone. refers to any challenge involving teams]
Type 2: Strategic and agility
Main Idea: Find your way to the middle of the jungle, collect the one, single item there. you and your teammate must bring it back to the starting point together.
Tips and Hints: Listen to each other. If you get lost and cannot find your way say the single word that will bring you back to the starting point [word in description of room, but it restarts both teammates, not just the one saying it/you have items... use it.

Brittany read over the note again, then dropped it. She looked at everyone curiously. "Hi i'm Brittany." She said, flashing her award winning smile. She looked up and tried to make out shapes, but was unable to see anything. She thought about what the Op had said, about how she could get food. She thought for a second and said "Can i have some fruit?"
[The speakers off in the rooms as a new voice spoke turning them on]
The Technologist: [male voice]
"Hey, name's Techno. Speakers in here are down, but we can speak to you. Brittany, hunny, I need you to look to the tv, look just above it and say what you said before." He went off and a small camera adjusted noticeably for her.

"Yeah, sure. One moment." Like before, a crate was lowered down into the room, the wooden outside falling down and a key at the top with assorted fruits, two of every kind, including foreign fruits.

Brittany nodded her head and watched the crate. "Thanks. And yes. I am." She walked to the crate and carefully opened it. She dug through it until she found a pomegranate and promptly opened it, starting to eat the seeds.

Brittany shook her head and spoke, more to herself then others but out loud, "but i don't want to beat anyone." She watched the exchange between Eden and Kristen and thought to herself, but if that's what i need to do then i guess i'll be the best fighter here.

Reluctantly, Eden nodded her head in agreement to Kristen. Then, out of nowhere, she grinned. It was a short think, and soon she was totally expressionless. She curled up on a couch and watched the news seemingly despondently.

Caitlyn had noticed how the girl who called herself Honovi had taken a protective stand when she was walking towards her. Quite catious,but that's what I need. she thought to herself. She thought that it was strange that the girl asked her for her name even though she had already said it. Still hersmile became a bit brighter while answering the girls question. "Caitlyn,Caitlyn Conary. I guess that you already expect the question but would you like to team up with me? If you don't want to that's fine. You don't need to work togethetr with me after that either if you don't want to. In the end it's only an offer." She smiled. This girl was her best chance on surviving so she really hoped that she would say yes.

Brittany watched as yet another team was to be formed. I guess i just seem to nice, she thought. She sighed and went over to the fruit crate again. She grabbed a handful of strawberries and slowly at them one at a time, walking over to near the couch and watching the news as she thought.
