xAbsentee father, nothing new when it comes to the Gods. Nero didn't know his father was Morpheus until just before going to the Academy. He quickly grew to dislike the man due to his absence in his life until the man had no choice but to step in. He occasionally tries to enter Nero's dreams but it does not do much.

Nero is not the most personable or social person. It’s not necessarily that he is a bad person, or has no desire for friends but it’s the way his past has molded him that made him this way. When it comes to social interaction, he has a tendency to be on the quiet and slightly awkward side of things, simply due to his lack of holding many conversations with others. He tends to keep to himself out of fear of letting people get close to him. It’s not that he doesn’t trust them or want close friends. But after the loss of his sister, Nero wouldn’t be able to live through the loss of another person close to him.

He tends to come off a fair bit snide with a sharp tongue. Growing up disliked by most of his family hasn’t given him much in the way of kindness or social politeness. He says what he means without filter or sugar coating. He doesn’t always intend it to come off rude or hurtful but it is for the best because it keeps people at bay. People think of him as a snake, slithering and sly, but he’s more of an armadillo. He has a hard shell that most cannot penetrate that guards the most fragile and vulnerable heart, that feels more deeply than anyone would understand.

Nero was an accident, plain and simple. Georgina was expected to finish her predatory school with flying colors, get into an Ivy league college and follow in her parents footsteps. What wasn’t planned for was Morpheus. He snaked his way into her life. The bad boy that good girls can’t resist. It was only one night, but that’s all that is needed. She got pregnant when she was sixteen, and it was the scandal of the school. She didn’t get an abortion though, and thought about adoption but in the end she kept him for some reason… Although, it would have been for the best if she didn’t.

When he was young he spent more time with nannies and babysitters hired by his grandparents then his mother. She never was his “mom” but Georgina. Around as frequently as an Aunt would be. His grandparents paid for his daycare so that his mother could finish school and still make something of her life without worrying about her burden.

By the time Nero was five, Georgina married a boy she met at Harvard. Within a year she was pregnant with a proper child and has his sister Andrea. Ever since she was born, Nero was hidden away like a dirty little secret. He went to public schools while his sister went to the best private schools. His room was a glorified closet while Andrea had three.

But no matter how poorly his mother and her husband treated him, Nero could never hold it against Andrea. She loved him more than anything in the world and he was the free in home entertainment for the little kid. They grew a very close bond and they grew to love each other more than anyone else in the family. In separable best friends. When Andrea had nightmares she’d come to Nero not their mother. When she needed help with homework, wanted to play or cry… Nero.

But when she was ten, Andrea got sick… Very, very sick. Some kind of cancer. Nero never thought to ask, he didn’t care what kind it was, just wanted her better. Their mother paid for all the best medicine but in the end it wasn’t enough. She died within a year… And the loss all but destroyed Nero. All he had to remember Andrea was a locket he gave her when she was five that had pictures of them both. Now he wore it constantly along with a plastic bead bracelet she mad him when she first got sick.

The following years got more and more rough for him. He fell deep into a pit of alcohol abuse and even some drug usage to numb the pain. Nero quickly found himself rotating between juvenile halls, getting out for maybe a week, only to go back. Eventually Morpheus had no choice but to step in before Nero got himself imprisoned for the rest of his life. The God saw it as a chance to hopefully get his son on the right path while Nero saw it as a way to hopefully erase his pain.
