Personality
Sammie Tyrant has always been the "fun girl." The girl who's out with her friends until midnight, has multiple best friends, and loves to rock out to whatever hip music is currently flowing through the radio, while wearing whatever hip fashion trend is flowing through the U.S. teen girls.
Image
But, don't those girls usually have all the boys? Don't they date on/off until they're out of high school? Sammie has never, ever, ever been asked out, by anyone. She's always the one chasing after some loser guy, or the girl who plans parties and inviting a ridiculous amount of people just to feel normal.
Image
Honestly, she hates that about her. All of her friends, acquaintances, co-workers, enemies, frenemies, cousins, family, aunts, uncles, mom, dad, sister, companions, (I think you get it.) Everyone has been with someone except her, and it's driving her insane. But, at the end of the day, she sighs as she leans her head back against her bed, and says, "It's for the best.".
Back to the Personality...
Sammie's definitely a partyer. She'll call up who she knows will go out and have a good time with her, every other night. When she was invited to this, she almost exploded. A party... that she was actually invited to? She knew she'd end up making all the reservations, calling to see who's coming, and get stuck with making all the plans, but, she was invited!

History
Sammie grew up in an interesting household. Her mother, Samantha, named Sammie after herself, and was always power-hungry. She
always had to have her way, or no one would be happy. Her father, Jerry, was the complete opposite. They do say, opposites
attract. Anyway, Jerry would always fed Samantha's thirst for power, leaving Sammie, and her sister, Tyra, to fend for themselves often.
Tyra, being the oldest, usually stayed home and watched Sammie, while their parents would either go out and gamble away their earnings,
getting drunk in the process. When Tyra turned 18, she took Sammie who was 13 at the time, and they ran off, tired of their parent's troublesome ways. Tyra found a job at a fast food joint, and constantly work doubles, and overnight, leaving Sammie alone. Sammie was alone for most of her life after they left their parents. Jerry and Samantha didn't seem to notice, honestly. To them, the girls were always in their rooms, trying some new Make-up trend, or scanning online stores for deals on clothes. So, naturally, being alone, made Sammie depressed. Yes, she did go through that "stage" in life that every young, teenage girl goes through. Depression. She never got to the point where it was so bad, she harmed herself, but several close calls. During those close calls, Tyra would always swoop in and be the amazing big sister she was, pulling Sammie out of the 6ft hole depression dug for her.
With time, Sammie and Tyra grew older, and soon grew apart. Tyra was married now, and had a little boy of her own, at age 23. Sammie moved out of the house they'd renovated on, first to help with Tyra's husband moving in, and then a second time, for the little boy. Sammie missed her sister, and the long nights they'd had, talking. They used to stay up until 5 in the morning on weekends and just wing the whole weekend, doing whatever they wanted right then and there. But.. with Tyra as a mom now, she wasn't even capable of keeping herself in line much, much less Sammie too. So, Sammie moved out after she graduated high school, into a little apartment. After she returns from the trip, she's saved up enough money to move up North somewhere. She isn't sure where yet, but she's leaving this place. The memories are too much for her to handle anymore. Another reason she's leaving is because of fame. She'd always sang in gigs with new bands, but never thought about it being a career until recently. She's heard of an agent up north, who's good with beginning singers.

Night Two

Image
After a tremulous day of partying at the beach the group heads back to the hoouse where Sammie and Khloe aree waiting for them. Steve helps Khloe in her slightly drunk haze, sober up while everybody gets dressed. After about forty minutes everybody is dressed and ready to go. Khloe, Rylee, Lacey, and James pile in a car. Davey, Samie, Steve, and Ellie pile in the other.

The group heads to Club Bamboo, where Davey has a VIP hook up. The bass is bumping so loud that the room seems to thump along. Blue and pink lights give it a dreamy haze. The VIP area is blocked off by a rope but Davey easily gets them in. A waitress leaves a bottle of vodka on the table and takes their drink orders. The VIP area is more like a lounge with long rounded white leather sofas and chic glass tables. Blue lights shine overhead.

On the dance floor people are grinding and jumping and fist pumping their way through songs. In thee center theres a mosh pit of sorts except they're just jumping. To the left of the dance floor is a bathroom hallway filled with weed smoke. To the right a secluded dark area that couples seem to be using to get "acquainted"
The bar has two hot bartenders. Kevin is one of them, the other is a pretty girl. They expertly serve drinks and charm customers. Vanessa sits at the bar a cat like smile playing on her lips. Eager to see wha awaits them tonight.

As Steve entered the VIP area, he could only whistle. "Damn, Davey. Once again you have delivered." Steve laughed as he patted Davey on the back. "Alright, folks I'd hate to be that guy, but somebody does. We need designated drivers. I'll be one and we need another volunteer. As much as I would like to drive two cars at once it just isn't going to happen." As he finished his sentence the sweet aroma of marijuana filled his nostrils. "Nature calls. Sammie, I'll dance with you after I get back. 10 minutes tops." Steve said smiling. As he made his way to the bathroom the grin on his face got larger and larger.

Steve entered the bathroom and was greeted by a wall of smoke. "I think I died and went to Hell, 'cause Heaven can't be this awesome," He said walking up to the sink. He saw lighters go off and on all around him, and somebody was always coughing. When he got to the counter he checked himself out in the mirror, he had put on a black suit, with his tie tied loosely, and his white shirt was tucked in. He shot himself a smile and pulled out his weed. He rolled up a joint and light it in under a minute. Steve walked over to an empty spot on the wall and leaned up against it.

A couple minutes had past and he had about only took a couple of hits, when a voice startled him, "Hey, could I get a hit off of that." He looked at where the voice came from and saw a cute red head, with green eyes, and wore a little black dress that hugged at the right places.

"Uh.. Sure," For once Steve was at a loss for words. He handed her the joint and soon, his words came back to him. "Wait, isn't this the men's restroom? So, why are you here?"

"I saw something I liked so I followed it." She said handing it back.

"And that would be?"

"I'm not telling."

"Is that so, Well as much fun as this had been..."

"Melody,"

"I got somebody waiting for me, So you can keep the rest of that. I'll see you around." Steve said as he headed out the bathroom. While the door was closing behind him, he could have sworn he heard her shouting about how she didn't get his name.

He finally got back to the VIP section in 9 minutes, "See, told you I'd be back in under ten minutes. Let's dance," Steve held out his hand to Sammie. Something out of the corner of his eye caught his attention. He looked over with out turning his head and saw Vanessa smiling. Steve felt his pulse quicken, 'Keep it cool, she's not good for you.'His focus shifted back on Sammie.

Khloe had escaped from the confined space as quickly as possible. She looked around, amazed by the life of the party. Everybody seemed to be in a trance and she understood why. She immediately curled into one of the soft leather couches. When the waitress took her order she shook her head "Yeah, no. Do you have a Shirley Temple?" She leaned her head against the couch, her feet tucked under her. She smiled at Davey "This is Amazing Davie" She shook her head "I don't know how you did it." but it's amazing.

The waitress came back setting their drinks on the table. She went to take a sip of hers when a voice behind her said "This club has the best drinks and your getting that." She turned to see a dark haired guy with big pale green eyes and chiseled cheek bones. He wore a rugby team polo and designer jeans. "Uh yeah I am." She said with a straight face but ended up grinning anyway. I'm Charles She nodded "Khloe

Turned out Charles was a nice guy. They walked over to the bar and started talking. He was here with his friends from college and he did indeed play rugby. He asked her to dance but she wasn't too sure if she could even really move in the low cut dress without spilling out so she declined. But she did give him her number when he asked for it. When she came back to the VIP section she was still grinning a little. After being brutally insulted. by Max and the whole Rylee situation it was good to feel.. wanted in a romantic way.

"Will you guys dance?"[color] She asked as she sat between James and Ellie. She leaned her head on Ellie's shoulder [color=#FA3264]"I feel like we haven't talked all day. I didn't get to ask.." She said moving her hair, which straightened almost pooled in her lap "Are you ok." She tugged on a red curl "I haven't seen your gorgeous smile all day" She pulled out her phone and sent a text to Davey

To: Darling D
Ask Lacey to dance NOW

Then looked at him pointedly when he opened it. She glanced around. Sammie and Steve were dancing, Vanessa was seething at the bar watching them. Rylee sat next to James and she forced Davey and Lacey to sit next to each other on the opposite side facing them. She sat next to James and Ellie.

Everything in the Bamboo was vibrant. The sounds of the booming music, the lights, the decorations...even the people were dressed in outfits that seemed to pop. However, Ellie wasn't popping. She was dressed in a frock that looked like it belonged in the 1920's. (Which wasn't entirely a bad thing, but it didn't stand out in comparison to the low-cut, neon dresses other girls were wearing.) She wore barely any makeup - only mascara coated her lashes, and a touch of nude lipstick, which she had secretly stolen from Khloe's supply of cosmetics, was dashed across her pouting lips. Her hair was tied back in an intricately-braided bun, little strands curling by the sides of her ears, and a flower crown rested on the top of her head. In summary, she looked extremely beautiful. However, compared to everyone else, she felt like a mutant.

She sat at a table with her legs crossed, and a hand resting gently against her cheek. She stared out into the sea of young adults. In a way, this sea looked more dangerous than the one she had encountered at the beach. People were flopping around, grinding each other, crowd-surfing...Ellie felt like a fish out of water.

Kevin came over with a tray of drinks in his hand. "Would you like one, sweetheart?" he asked.
"No thanks, I don't drink." she replied. It was true; Ellie didn't really drink much, unless it was absolutely necessary or if she were under pressure...like last night. She would've offered to be a designated driver, however, she still didn't have her license...
Kevin persisted, "These are all free, y'know. I mean...why waste 'em?"
"I said no."
He stared at Ellie for a moment, and then put a glass of light orange liquid onto the table beside her. "Well, if you won't take one for yourself, at least have one on me." He then winked at her, and walked away. She rolled her eyes. The eighteen-year-old downed it out of anger, thinking it was better to swallow it then to have it sit on the table untouched. She regretted that decision once she could feel the inside of her throat burn. She coughed, slowly realizing that she was most likely going insane.

Suddenly, Khloe appeared between James and Ellie as if out of nowhere. "Will you guys dance?" she asked. Ellie shrugged, took off her flower crown, and started to play with it. "I dunno. If they stop playing top 40, maybe I will."
Khloe then rested her head against Ellie's shoulder. "I feel like we haven't talked all day. I didn't get to ask..are you ok?"
She nodded, "Yeah, I'm fine." That was the second time today she had answered that question incorrectly.

"And what about you?" she asked, turning the question back on Khloe, "Are you okay? Looked like you had a really fun time at the beach, today. How are things with you and..." she stopped herself, realizing James was sitting next to her. It would be a bad time to talk about Rylee. That's when everything hit her; the kiss, the talk with Sammie, Sammie then leaving her all alone and not coming back like she said she would... It was just so pointless trying to make or keep friends. Maybe it was wrong to talk shit about Khloe, especially since Khloe was the only person left who she had considered a close friend...

She then continued, taking a glance or two at the bee tattoo printed onto her forearm. "You look really nice, by the way. I saw you with that guy before. Did you have a good time with him?" She smiled down at Khloe without exposing her teeth, "You should go dance with him. I mean, I've seen the way you dance, and I wish I could dance like you. When I try to dance, it looks like I'm having a spaz attack."

She then looked out into the sea of people once again, her facial expression turning into a nervous one. Ellie wanted to dance, but she was afraid to get up. She wished she could be them...she wished she weren't so alone...

"So you're actually from London?"
"And you actually got in here for free?"

Three waitresses were crowding around Davey as he sat near the table, his leg crossed on top of the other.
"Yes, and yes. In regards to the latter, I found the owner's son this morning, had a little talk with him, played a little volleyball, and I guess he liked me enough to let my friends and I crash a VIP spot."
"Oh my god," exclaimed a platinum blonde, "You must be like, really good at talking to people!"
"I must be, considering the fact that you three ladies are still hanging around..."

They giggled, and in that instant, Davey's phone vibrated in his pocket. He looked at Khloe's text and smiled at her. He typed the words 'I will', and sent it to her. "Sorry ladies, but I'm going to have to ask you to excuse me for a second, I have something important to do, and I need to be alone." They waved goodbye to him, and then disappeared. Davey then turned to Lacey, and gave her a charming half-smile.

"Hey" he said, "So I didn't waste my time getting us into this prestigious club just to sit around and do nothing you know." He extended a hand towards her without saying a word. The vigorous expression in his eyes said it all.

Sammie took Steve's hand, and walked out into the crowds of people, dancing away their worries. She wanted to be like them. Then, she frowned, looking over at Ellie. She'd forgotten to come back. Sammie was consumed in her own self-pity, and Khloe being with Rylee, that she forgot to tend to her and Ellie's new found... friendship. She felt extremely guilty, but didn't want to make a scene, so she decided she'd talk to her privately later. Sammie hated herself for basically lying to Ellie. "I'll be right back.." was all she said, and it probably cost her Ellie. Sammie sighed, and then shook it off.

Sammie saw Steve nervously look at Vanessa, and Sammie tightened her grip on his hand. She then grabbed both of his hands with hers, as they danced. Honestly, Sammie felt jealous of Vanessa in that moment. She'd never really given her a second look, always ignoring her when she and Khloe went out and happened to "run into her", or at Khloe's house, and she'd make her "surprise visit". Sammie quickly shook those thoughts out of her head as she didn't want to think of Khloe. Anything that'd make her think of Khloe and Rylee tonight would drive her insane, and make her hurt herself. She sighed, remembering in that second, that she'd already hurt herself earlier before coming to the club with the others. As she thought of it, the fresh cut across her upper thigh stung, and she could feel it trying to heal itself. Sammie then turned her attention back to Steve.

As she held his hands tightly, she felt... amazing. Steve made her feel amazing, and she shook her head, making it look like part of her dance, to hide it. Did she really like the boy Vanessa wanted? It'd make sense she liked Khoe's..

Sammie smiled brightly at Steve, the first time since she'd come to the beach house, really. "Steve! Steve, can I tell you something?" She asked, rather loudly, speaking over the music... or trying to. Her hand gripped Steve's tightly, and it seemed as if they were dancing in rhythm to one another. The beat of the music was constant, and repetitive, making it really easily danced to, and everyone around them seemed to be loving it. Sammie didn't recognize the song right off, but she knew Steve probably did. She smiled, and laughed, watching Steve dance with her.
As they danced, Sammie noticed her and Steve would slowly, inch by inch, get closer to one another. Thinking it was the crowd growing on the dance floor, she shrugged it off at first. But then, she realized they were, and not the crowd. She then found herself almost touching his chest, but shot her hands up, letting out a "Woo!" to the beat of the music, and shook her hips in a swaying motion, her whole body seeming to be in sync. "C'mon, Steve! Let me tell you!" She said loudly, and looked him in his big, gorgeous eyes.

Steve stopped listening to the words of the songs, what they said made no difference to him. All he cared about was not making a complete jackass out of himself while dancing. He tried to keep all of his attention on Sammie, but as they danced he kept getting glimpses of Vanessa. Her smile had left her face and now a scowl was in its place. Somehow he got the impression that it was a bad thing to make Vanessa jealous. He focused himself on Sammie, who had started to hold his hand tighter.

"Steve...Tell...Something?" Steve tried to make out what Sammie had said, but he didn't have a clue. As the song progressed he noticed that they were getting closer and closer. He thought it was because the crowd was growing, but after a quick sweep of the dance floor disproved that theory. He smiled at Sammie when she threw her hands up in the air and yelled. When Sammie spoke, he caught every word.

He nodded his head and motioned to get off the dance floor so they can talk. He grabbed her hand so they wouldn't be separated in the mess that was called the dance floor. As he led Sammie he didn't have to look at Vanessa to know that she was staring at him. When they got somewhere the music wasn't deafening, Steve looked around and found out you couldn't see the VIP are from here. "You might have something to tell me, but I got something to give you." His eyes were no longer looking into hers, they were staring at her lips. He wanted her more than any of his flings in school put together. He grabbed her shoulders and kissed her right on the lips. He had felt something he hadn't felt with the others, a spark.

He pulled away and hoped to God he had made the right move. He didn't want to mess things up with Sammie, but kissing her had been on his mind since they started dancing and there was no better time than the present to deal with his feelings.

"Why don't you ask one of your little girlfriends, the ones you just sent away."
"I was lucky I even got to send them away," he replied with a slight chuckle, "They wouldn't shut up, and they were starting to annoy me, anyway...as I'm sure they were annoying you." He held out his hand again, this time closer to Lacey then before. He could tell that she was contemplating his offer. "Fine," she silently scoffed, "I owe you for getting us in here anyway."

He nodded, gently taking her by the hand, and leading her away from the VIP section. He caught Steve and Sammie embracing each other over in a vacant area, and nudged his head towards their direction so Lacey could see as well. He moved far away from the area where they had been sitting, and stopped once they reached to about the middle of the floor. He danced, not really caring about what he looked like in the eyes of others. He knew he was a good dancer, and thinking about it would only mess him up.

While he moved to the music. He thought about what had happened at the beach. Him and Lacey had come so close to locking lips...and then she moved away. But why? Clearly she had shown she had feelings for him by the way she wrapped her arms and legs around him in the water...It had been driving him crazy all day. He needed to say something, and he needed to know what she thought of him...

"Lacey," he said over the loud music, "Lacey, I need to tell you something. But first, let's get away from all of these people." He gently took her by the hand again, trying to find a vacant area, but of course, there was none. Just then, he hatched an idea. There was a door leading to an outside area that was a part of the club. He had been to the Bamboo before...he knew his way around.

He led her outside. They entered a fenced-in area where a clean, unused pool stood in the middle of the concrete. Neon palm trees shined a hypnotic pink glow, and the music from inside was only slightly audible. He took both of her hands in his, tenderly rubbing his thumbs over her fingers, and began to speak.

"So listen," he said, "I've been thinking a lot about what happened earlier today, at the beach...and I don't know what happened, but I just want to tell you that there's no reason for you to be scared of me." He moved in closer, his eyes darting as if they were saying 'let's try again.' "I know I can be a little bit...impulsive, flirtatious...y'know..." he slightly chuckled, looking down at the ground for a moment, "But when I talk to you, I really do mean everything I say. You're beautiful Lacey..." he said, moving even closer, "And I really, really like you."

He placed one hand on her left cheekbone, and the other around her right hip. "You just..."
Silence.

And when Davey Jones, a master at conversation, couldn't think of anything else to say, he leaned in and planted a kiss on Lacey's lips.

{“You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching, love like you'll never be hurt, sing like there's nobody listening, and live like it's heaven on earth.” ― William W. Purkey }

Lacey looked at their hands conjoined as they walked through the crowd before smiling softly to herself and looking back up to watch where she was going. She looked back towards the section before looking away just to see Steve and Sammie kissing one another. She sighed in defeat before clearing her throat. "Great, she already has him wrapped around her finger." She said to herself as she continued to walk to the middle of the dancefloor with Davey right in front of her. She tightened her grip on his hand softly before picking a spot and letting go of her hand. She watched him dance for a moment before starting herself. She might not have been the best dancer but, she was good enough to make it look like she knew what she was doing. She tried not to look towards Davey to avoid any awkwardness or to stop herself from babbling once again. Every once and a while she would glance out of the corner of her eye and look at Davey. He seemed like something was bothering him and if it was what she thought it was, she should have just pushed through the crowd to make it back to where the group had been sitting and avoid Davey until she left in two weeks.

"Lacey," She didn't hear him at first, it wasn't until he said it louder that she finally looked towards him with a smile on her face. "Lacey, I need to tell you something. But first, let's get away from all of these people."

She lost her smile once he softly grabbed her hand and turned around. She had no idea what he wanted to talk about. And then it hit her. "Damn it! He going to talk to me about the beach." Lace looked around frantically, hoping he wouldn't find somewhere for them to talk and just say they could talk later once they got back home. At least there she could act as if she had fallen asleep before he could have the chance to talk to her.

And just when it seemed like they could find a place to talk, Davey of course knew of a quiet place where they could talk without anyone else around. She walked outside before him and looked around the pool area. It would have been a beautiful place to be if it wasn't for the overwhelming amount of nerves she had in her. When the door closed softly, she turned back towards Davey with her eyebrows furrowed. When he took a hold of her hands and rubbed them with his thumb. She cleared her throat as she turned her doe eyes to Davey as he started to speak to her. "So listen. I've been thinking a lot about what happened earlier today, at the beach...and I don't know what happened, but I just want to tell you that there's no reason for you to be scared of me."

She looked down at the cement as he spoke and sighed heavily. She wasn't terrified of him, okay she was. But, more than anything she was afraid of him thinking she was an idiot for how she acted around him. And she was afraid if she was to tell him about her feelings and he didn't feel the same way, it would have ruined their friendship and she wasn't brave enough to test it.

When he moved closer to her she knew he face was getting red especially once he looked her right in the eyes. "I know I can be a little bit...impulsive, flirtatious...y'know..."
As he chuckled she just raised her eyebrows as she chuckled a bit too. "But when I talk to you, I really do mean everything I say. You're beautiful Lacey..."

"Davey, stop."

"And I really, really like you." She closed her eyes to stop tears from coming out as he laid one hand against her cheek and the other on her hip. Lacey looked towards him and shook her head as she grabbed the hand that was on her cheek. "Davey, stop talking."

"You just..."

"Davey!" She turned her eyes from the ground to him just as he leaned in to kiss her before she could say anything else. She wanted to move away, she did and at first she was angry. But, the longer they kissed the more she didn't want to get rid of that feeling he gave her. That feeling where it felt like she could just stay frozen like that forever. A feeling where she felt like she was completely red but, for once she didn't care.

After a minute her arms went from her side and her cheek to his jaw to keep him from pulling away. She moved her hands to the back of his neck and in his hair as she leaned down a bit to kiss him, but not before moving his hands to be on her waist. The only she let go was because she was out of breath and losing her balance in her shoes.

When she did pull away, she kept her forehead on his as she looked him in the eyes with a smile on her face. "Wow." She pecked him one last time on his lips before letting go of him and returning back to Earth. She took a step back before straightening out of her dress and clearing her throat softly. She sighed as if she had been working about before returning her eyes back to the man in front of her. She tried not to smile but, the longer she looked at him the more a smile grew on her face. Finally she turned back to her feet as she spoke.

"Well, that was..--that was just..-- Wow. Davey that was amazing," Lace said with her face still red. She really just wanted to kiss him again. "And I really, really like you too and I want to be with you. Then it hit her. She was leaving. What were they suppose to do then? "...But, I'm leaving in two week and..-- and I don't know if we could last in a long distance relationship like that." While she was speaking to him, she was also thinking about it in her head about what they should do. She wasn't like Sammie or Khloe, she didn't like the idea of falling without a safety net. She needed to know what the plan was between them before proceeding; whether they continued down this road of being together or if they stopped now before something bad happened, before one of them got hurt.

She snapped back to reality as she started to speak again and remember that it wasn't really a choice But, I like you, a lot and I don't want to go back to just being friends with you," Lacey knew she was thinking out loud and rambling, but what else was new? She rambled when she was conflicted and she was really conflicted with this. She groaned as she hid her face in her hands. "I'm... confused, and conflicted. I don't know what you want me to do." She groaned softly again. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

Steve Coltman

As Steve stood there waiting for her to say something, the only thing that kept running through his mind was, I screwed up, It may had only been a few seconds, but they were the longest of his life.

He was more than shocked when she yelled out, and started to kiss him back. He didn't really know how it was going to go with Sammie, but he didn't care. After she had finished kissing him he finally noticed how much he smelled like weed, Damn it, I knew going into the bathroom was a terrible idea. He mentally kicked himself a couple of times. Ah, well. If I didn't then this entire thing would seem planned. Not how I would go about courting women.

"Steve... I like you too..." He smiled at those words as he was about to answer her while she was looking at her feet he saw Lacey and Davey. He felt a pang of jealousy. It wasn't a small pang either, it was enough to make him want to run and kiss her right in front of him. That's just petty and cruel to Sammie. I don't want to hurt her in any way. He thought as he refocused on the beautiful girl latched on his neck.

"Sammie, I..." Steve started to speak only problem was, he didn't exactly know what to say. He was speechless twice in the same day, it was a new record for him. He had finally continued speaking, "I think you are a wonderful person, and Rylee was such an idiot for letting you slip through his fingers." He brought up his right hand and caressed her face. He had never noticed how soft her skin was. "I can't promise you forever... or at least right now I can't, but I can promise you that you won't be bored and I'm sorry for any and all future screw ups, because they're bound to happen and I'm me and I screw up... a lot... and I think I'm starting to babbling. I'm going to shut up now and keep kissing you."

Steve used his right hand to lift Sammie's head and kissed her again. All he wanted to do was forget the world while she was here with him, nothing mattered to him except here and now. Not even the knock out blonde on the other side of bar giving them a look of death mattered. He'd deal with the consequences when they happened and he'd be damned if he let them bother him.

Sammie didn't know what to think of this new romance. Sure, she had feelings for Rylee, but she knew she always would, and what better time than now to forget them? She sighed, and focused back on Steve.

"Sammie, I... I think you are a wonderful person, and Rylee was such an idiot for letting you slip through his fingers. I can't promise you forever... or at least right now I can't, but I can promise you that you won't be bored and I'm sorry for any and all future screw ups, because they're bound to happen and I'm me and I screw up... a lot... and I think I'm starting to babbling. I'm going to shut up now and keep kissing you."

Sammie smiled, and she gasped as she was kissed again. This time, Steve's forced planted them against the wall, and she wasn't sure what happened after that. She interrupted once, to say, "Steve... is it too early to say I love you?" But he just seemed to nod, and continue. She wondered what would happen.

Was this just a one night thing, or a lifetime love?

Thoughts ran through her tiny head. Was he going to ditch her for Vanessa? Was he going to go after Lacey instead? Was she going to let him leave, or was she going to fight for him, like she failed to do with Rylee?

All she knew was that.. Steve made her feel amazing right now, and she was just going to roll with it, and hope in the end, that she wouldn't get too badly burned.

She interrupted again, this time more seriously. "Steve.. do you really want to go down this road?" Her eyes full of fear, and pain. "If we do.. promise me you'll stay.. and not leave.."

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a figure walking out of the door. She started breathing fast, as it was Ellie, and she looked to Steve for only a second, then said, "Steve, I am so sorry for ruining this moment, but I'll be right back." The same empty promise it seemed as she'd given Ellie. " I promise!" She yelled over the music as she quickly left the building.

"Ellie, wait!" Sammie ran out the door, and caught up to her lonesome friend. "Where are you going? I was going to ask you to dance with us." She looked sadly at her possible friend, not sure what she felt. "Ellie, I'm sorry. I owe you a huge apology about leaving you. I didn't mean to. I was acting out of my emotions, and they took over that night. I even have to throw away my razor now.." She shrugged, tears threatening her eyes. "Are you alright?"

"You don't have to answer that, I know you aren't."

Sammie looked at her broken acquaintance, and hugged her. Tightly at first, then loosened up as she grabbed her. That was when she saw the note she started on her phone. "Ellie.." Sammie looked Ellie in the eyes, and wiped away her tears with her thumb. "You're not even close to sucking.. if anyone sucks.. it's me. I'm the one going around and starting everything. I just kissed Steve, Ellie. Vanessa is going to be all over me tomorrow. Khloe hates me, and I guess.. I've lost you. " She sighed sadly, and looked down, letting go of Ellie. "Just text me at least?" Sammie scratched the back of her neck nervously.

She didn't know what else to say.. or do.

Ellie's head jerked up from her notebook. She thought she heard a familiar voice nearby, but she didn't know where their voice was coming from. Perhaps she was imagining things. She looked down at her feet, only to be greeted by the distant voice again. She looked up at the silhouette standing over her.

"Sammie?"

For the second time that day, Sammie Tyrant was there to comfort her. "Ellie, I'm sorry," she said, "I owe you a huge apology about leaving you. I didn't mean to. I was acting out of my emotions, and they took over that night. I even have to throw away my razor now.." Ellie locked her jaw a little. Sammie had lost herself, just like she had warned her not to do. She couldn't be mad at her, though. Not only did she have the emotional capacity right now to be angry at her, but she could also relate to her. Ellie had cut herself once. It was only one time, but it was at an extremely sentimental time...It wasn't easy coming back home and having to deal with the two years of high school she had missed.

"Are you alright?" Sammie asked. Ellie just stared at her, debating whether or not to lie again.
"You don't have to answer that, I know you aren't."

Sammie hugged Ellie, sending a wave of tears down her eyes again. She wasn't expecting any of this from Sammie, the girl she had been previously frenemies with. It was kind of amazing and exhilarating. Ellie hugged her extremely tight, as though there were demons surrounding her, and she needed protection. Then once Sammie started to loosen her grip, she slowly followed suit.

"Ellie.."
From the direction Sammie's eyes were looking, Ellie knew that she had seen the giant letters printed in her notebook. She looked down at the ground in shame, and then stared upwards once Sammie started to wipe away her tears with her thumb. "You're not even close to sucking.. if anyone sucks.. it's me. I'm the one going around and starting everything. I just kissed Steve, Ellie."
"Really?" For a moment, her eyes glistened from the light of the stars. She wanted to ask questions, but she knew it was an inappropriate time to do so.
"Vanessa is going to be all over me tomorrow. Khloe hates me, and I guess.. I've lost you."

She stared at Sammie for a moment, and then shook her head. "Sammie, you never lost me. I thought I lost you..." After a few moments of silence, Ellie chuckled through the copious amount of tears that rested on her cheeks. For a second, she thought she was going insane. "Boy, this has been an emotional trip, hasn't it?" she said, "And you don't suck. Not at all. In fact, you might be the sweetest person I know."

She then stared back at the page in her notebook, and closed it. "Sammie..." she started. It was going to come out, all of it..."What would you do if you were depressed, and you're trying to be yourself again..." Ellie felt the inside of her throat go dry. "But you can't," she murmured through tears, "because every time you get one step closer to being happy again, a bad thought...or a tragic memory fills up inside of you and just takes over your whole body. And you just keep telling yourself that you're a bad person, and it's like you're being possessed, and you just can't get away from the monsters around you..." She wiped away the tears from her eyes.

"I keep telling myself that the past is over, but I just feel so alone and so...angry...and full of regret...all the time..." She leaned forward, her shoulders slouched, and her eyes focused on the street. "And then I see...him...and I think about the things that he's done...and the things that I've done...the people I could have saved...and I don't know how to live with it...how to un-see all of it...how do you erase the terrible things that you've done?"

She held her head in her hands, and her eyes widened in fear. "I just socked a guy in the nose at the club...he was harassing Khloe...and she called for help...and it reminded me of a moment...and I had a flashback - PTSD, and I just blacked out, and then all of a sudden, his nose is bleeding and there's blood on my hands..."

She moved hair away from her face, and shakily exhaled. "So I just texted Khloe that I'm leaving tomorrow. Even though I want to stay...I just can't. What if I'm like a bomb, Sammie? What if it's just a matter of time until I hurt all of you, just like I did to that man? What if I'm dangerous? Or maybe...what if I just ruin everything for all of you?" She stared at her for a few seconds, and then placed her hands over her eyes, looking down.

"I'm so lost..."

"You know what you need? A friend." said Sammie, "You need someone who you trust, with anything and that you never think that you'll fight over stupid boys and break apart." Ellie silently chuckled, although she wasn't sure whether or not such an action was appropriate.

"There's no way you can screw anything up, Ellie. I promise. Now, I want to be your friend. Maybe best friend one day. But, I want to be there when you have some panic attack. I can help you. I promise." Sammie then smiled beautifully, and hugged her again. Ellie could see that she was crying. She was surprised how direct Sammie was. Sometimes stating things simply was better than sugarcoating everything, and right now, Gabriella Wicks wasn't in the mood to be elaborate. "We've both when there other is, so let me help you. Alright?"

Ellie turned her head to Sammie, smiled, and nodded. "Alright."

"First of all, I don't care who he is, but he's obviously not good enough for you if he's no begging you to be back in his life. I learned that the hard way."
Ellie could feel her throat go dry. Sammie didn't understand. The man who she had been crying over had no life. In fact, Ellie had taken it from him. She did not want him back in her life...in fact, she wanted to forget about him. But would she tell that to Sammie? No. If there was one thing she had learned in the past two years, it was that innocence, something that most people she knew took for granted, was indeed bliss. She didn't tell Sammie not because she disliked her, but on the contrary, she wanted to protect her spirit.

"Second, you're perfect just the way you are. We all have our downfalls. For you it would be the PTSD. But you can overcome it. " She smiled again, and Ellie gave a genuine smile back.
"You know what? You're right. You are absolutely right." she said. She opened up her noteback, turning to the page she had covered in black sharpie marker. She ripped the 'YOU SUCK' in half, and crumpled the paper in her hand, and threw it in the garbage beside her. Ellie then pulled out her phone, sending a new text to Khloe.

To: Khloe
From: Ellie
Disregard that last text. I'm not leaving. Sorry for the trouble.

She then looked at Sammie, contentment sparkling in her eyes. "You're a really good person, y'know that?" she said, "You're amazing Sammie. C'mon, let's go back."

She put her heels back on, and tread the sidewalk like she had done before. Only this time, she walked more slowly and steadily. Something in Ellie's mind had clicked. Jokingly, she put the flower crown from her bag on Sammie's head, and began to think to herself. Had she come to terms with the events that had happened two years ago? Possibly. But the unexplainable happiness bubbling from inside of her came from something else. After living each day feeling mortal and weak, she finally knew that people cared about her. There were people in her life who actually hated to see her hurt. In her past life, she was brainwashed to believe that such a statement wasn't true. And now she felt free from this curse that had binded her, and she knew that if trouble came again, a helping hand would come.

She wasn't alone, and she wouldn't make herself alone anymore. And she made a promise to herself that this moment inbetween childhood and young adulthood, whatever it was, would be a new chapter. Not a moving on, but a fresh start. Like she had done after middle school, Ellie would just have to run away. She'd embrace the change, as well as this last time with her friends.
