Apartment Building

Hunter sat in the small lobby of the building keeping his eye on the front door. It wasn't much of a lobby, more like a small room with just a sofa in front of his own apartment. The old brown wall paper peeled from age, a soft yellow glow from an old lamp gave light to the claustrophobic area.

It was a slow morning in Tokyo. Maybe not slow from the out side of the walls of the building, but inside hardly anything was happening. Mary, Hunter's older sister, walked down and up the halls doing their laundry. His younger sister sat on the stairs reading a vampire romance book. Nothing to do but wait and hope that something will happen. He pulled his legs up on the old leather sofa and hugged the teddy bear to his chest.

"Some one's coming..." A small faint voice said from out of the blue. With widened eyes, he looked around the small room. "Did you say something?" he asked his teddy bear, but of course no reply reached him. He walked over to the steps where his younger sister sat. "So Jong, did you say something?" He asked his sister in his native tongue.
"Nope why?" His sister replied in the same language.
"Yan-yan and I heard a voice." He said referring to his teddy bear.
"You're crazy."
"Am not..." He pouted sitting back on his sofa.

"New friends to play with..." The voice said again. Puzzled he brought the stuff toy's mouth to his ear as if it could talk. "Go out front and you'll see..."

Obeying the voice, he stood up and walked out of the room and into the streets. He stood for awhile at the entrance watching the cars drive by the building. After a minute of standing he walked into the small garden that surrounded the walls and just sat in the grass. "Maybe something will happen, Yan-yan." He said hugging the bear to his chest.

Juliet carried her suitcase in her hand tightly as she walked up to the apartment building while looking down at the address written on the paper in her hand. "Well I think I've arrived..." A car drove by that honked loudly as she jumped, for some reason she felt extremely paranoid when she saw the apartment. Almost like there was something there that gave a very bad vibe that usually she would ignore. Without overly thinking it, she walked through the entrance and looked around to see she was in a small room that she guessed was the lobby. With the old looking wallpaper peeling off the wall, she guessed this place was pretty old but she didn't mind.
"Um, excuse me? Is anyone here?" She called out while waiting to see if anyone would come to help her. As she waiting she began to daydream about almost everything in the room coming to life and dancing around her, the crazy thoughts soon consumed her as she completely spaced out.

Juliet jumped to see a boy that looked around seventeen bow in front of her as she came back to reality, she couldn't help but to bow to the boy right back. She listened to him talk with a strange accent that she couldn't really describe but it didn't sound Japanese. As the boy then shoved a teddy bear into her face which was called Yan-yan, she smiled kindly at him. "Hello Hunter," She then looked at the bear, "Hello Yan-yan!"
Her hand entangled with the boy's hand, shaking it nervously a little too much. "I'm Juliet, I heard that you had vacant rooms and was wondering if maybe you had one that I could stay in possibly?" She gave a curious smile as she looked back down to the teddy bear and wondered why a boy his age would even carry around one anymore.

"So you're the new friend he was talking about, right Yan-yan?"

Juliet played that same sentence over and over in her head as she probably looked very confused. What did he mean by new friend? How did someone else know that she was coming here besides her ex but she doubted that he came just to tell them that. Hunter then spoke again, "Thank you, I'd be happy to play sometime!" She replied happily with a warm smile on her face, feeling a little sheepish as she followed him in through the door. She quietly shut the door behind her as she entered the room and smiled warmly at who she guessed was the land lord.
After the business was done for and Juliet had paid for her room and spoke with the land lord, or really Hunter, about the rental. She thanked the lady as she took the room key and followed the boy out of the room to her new apartment, he was a little strange but she didn't really mind. At least he seems really happy so that made her feel happy as well. "You didn't have to grab my suitcase Hunter," She smiled kindly at him with an apologetic look as she opened her door, "I could have carried it!" She reached her hand out to grab her suitcase so she didn't need to bother him any longer. "Really? Where's your room then?"

Juliet giggled as she heard the boy say this, "Well you and Yan-yan are very good gentlemen, thank you very much." She looked in the direction he was pointing, "I see, I really am right next to you!" With that, she laughed to herself as she made a very horrible joke. She noticed the boy sadden a little after he was saying how his sisters and him have their own apartment, this made her feel a little sad. He must have been lonely, she would try to fix that. "Well now I'm here, I'll hang out with you whenever you want and when I can!" The mention of loud music and she smiled brightly, "Keep in mind that when you play your loud music, I'm probably dancing around in my room."
Juliet sighed as she unlocked the door and opened the door, looking around the apartment in awe. After she saw the lobby she figured it would look a little old and maybe a little broken but it was actually... Nice. "Wow..." She softly muttered as she walked in, softly dropping her suitcase against a wall.

Hunter's brows met each other as he frowned staring at the brown wall. "You heard that voice right...?" he said speaking in English once again. "You heard it right...tell me I'm not crazy..." He said taking the doll feeling scared. He's bee n living in this building for the past four years. And nothing like this ever happened. He nibbled on his bottom lip nervously. "Maybe I'm just stressed about school..." He said to himself shaking his head. He looked back at Juliet with the same sweet smile he had on before. "It was probably just Yan-yan excited to play with you." He said in the happy voice he once had. He took his bear from her and scratched the back of his head. "Sorry I'm a little coo-coo" He said making a funny face trying to lighten the mood.

Juliet shook her head, "No, I don't hear anything... You're not crazy, maybe it was somebody who was walking by outside that you heard." She saw heard scared he was from his voice and she felt very worried and even felt the same fear he was feeling. "May-Maybe it's just stress, you're right." She managed to stutter as she shivered from feeling another powerful paranoid feeling ripple through her body. When he turned around a smile on his face, she was taken back by a lot. Why is he smiling now? She fell silent for awhile before shaking her head and forcing a smile, "Well Yan-yan, I am very excited to play with you too and Hunter as well." As she said Hunter she looked at him with a weak smile with her eyes still filled with fear, "It's fine, everyone usually had those moments, I know I do.." A slight and weak laugh made it's way through my lips as she looked at his face, "How cute, that's a funny face right there bud."

Monty looked at the building questioningly. "Are you sure this is the right place?" he asked. But the guy who showed him the way was already gone. "Well here goes nothing..." Monty said nothing feeling a strange vibe from the apartment he entered the building. He then proceeded to call out. "Hello, is anyone there!?" He was soon was met by no answer. He than sat on the couch and waited for someone to appear.

Hunter laughed and blushed a little. It was obvious he was excited to have the girl move into the house. He was hoping though that another person would come join them but the chances of two people moving in was very rare. Until he heard the new male voice. It wasn't the voice he's been scared of, he was sure of that. "Now I know that was real..." He said to his bear.
"Ya, Jin So!" He younger sister called speaking in their language. "There's another one here, you know what to do.
"Alright!" He called and bowed to Juliet. "Yan-yan and I will let you get settled. We'll be downstairs if you need us." He said warmly.
"Ya, Hurry!"
"Alright,alright stupid bitch!" He shouted at his sister in Korean. He jogged down the stairs flicking her ear when he passed by her. Once he made back to the small lobby he tilted his head and stared at the man. "You seem scary..." He said to himself in his native tongue not wanting the guy to understand. He bent down low bowing politely and spoke in English. "Good morning, I'm the son of the landlord, Lee Jin So but you can call me hunter." He did the same thing as before and shoved his teddy bear into the new person's face. "This is my best friend Yan-yan." He said in a childish voice. "How may we help you?"

"Oh...umm hello Yan-yan..." Monty said a little creeped out. "Yeah. I heard you have apartments here and I was wondering if I could rent one." he said as politely as he could. "So I was wondering how much and all of that other stuff." He said sort of side tracking with his eyes around the small lobby "How old is this place anyways?" he said questioning the stability of the structure.

Hunter crooked his head. "Oh, it seems like Hyung can speak our language, Yan-yan." He said in his native tongue. He pouted a little remembering what he did for him and his mother. "To think I went through all that trouble translating." He pulled his bear's mouth to his ears as if it's whispering to him. "Well he's only scary because he's all big and wears that funny shirt." He said sticking his tongue out at the bear.
He started to walk down the hall boredly. "Now what do we do..." He said his voice echoing through the walls. He stopped at Juliet's door; staring at the gold polished numbers he sat down on the ground. He didn't want to disturb her with whatever she was doing. But he was too bored to do anything else. He waited for about a minute with is bear until he decided to go to his room.
Inside the walls were right and colorful. The furniture he had were funky and oddly shaped. There were alot of toys scattered around the floor and some snacks too. His room reflected what he was, a child. He placed his bear on a small Sofa that looked like it was made specifically for it. He waled into his room and turned on some K-pop (Korean pop) music. His stereo yelled through his apartment.
He danced for a couple of minutes hoping to kill time; but suddenly the voice that he could only seem to hear screamed through his music. He stopped dancing and looked at his messy room. "WHO'S THERE?!" He yelled in Korean, his voice mature and now angry again. "I'm not scared! Where the hell are you!" He screamed throwing his large stuffed toys out of his way.
A small sound, a cry of agony called from the corner of his room. He switched off his music to hear to hear the cry. He walked closer to the corner and a sudden scream of horror escaped from his mouth as he fell unconscious to the ground.

Juliet was unpacking as she heard strange music come from the walls next door, "Wow, he really does play his music really loud huh?" She smiled to herself as she began to sway to the music and soon enough was dancing around, forgetting about the more important things that she needed done. A scream then echoed through her room after a few minutes of dancing, it sounded like Hunter. Quickly she darted out of her door and nearly burst the door down with her constant slamming, "HUNTER! HUNTER! WHAT'S GOING ON!?" Her voice screamed as it was high pitched with fear and she couldn't bare to wait any long as she burst through the apartment.
Immediately Juliet saw Hunter fainted on the floor as she ran closer to him and fell to her knees. She slightly shook him while trying to get him up. "Hey Hunter? Are you okay?" When he didn't respond she began to scream hysterically for someone to help, not sure if anyone would even answer her.

Hunter lay motionless on the ground, his arms and limbs sprawled as if he was no longer living. His chest though still moved but only barely. It was as if he was clinging on for dear life. His dark chocolate hair--obviously not his natural hair color-- seemed to have bright highlights in them which he never had. His skin seemed to turn as white as snow. He didn't look like the Hunter that was just dancing around the room or playing with his bear.
Hunter's eyes snapped open, his pupils seemed to have a purple shade in them, no longer just a jet black color. He stared at Juliet and grabbed her by the arm. "We're going to have fun, onii-chan..." He said speaking in a different language; not English or Korean but fluent Japanese. His voice was the same childish Hunter but it had a more twisted tone into it. "We're going to play this fun game. The winner will have the best prize..but the looser will..." Hunter's voice trailed off at the end and he started to laugh; a cold twisted and evil laugh echoed through the apartment.
"Jin So!" A small voice escaped through his lips and he started to twitch for a while. The twitching stopped and his body went limp once again. A groan slipped out of the boy's mouth as he sat up. "Huh?" He said in a confused tone while scratching his head. He yelped a little in surprise when he caught sight of the girl. "Oh hello Juliet-Noona. (OOC: which is what boys call older girl friends) Did you come to play with Yan-yan and me?" He said as if nothing happened.

Juliet stared at Hunter in horror as what was before he was not Hunter! When he grabbed her arm she slightly winced as she listened to him talk, what did he mean a game? It frightened her as she began to shriek, "WHAT GAME!? WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT!!!" As he began to twitch and then go limp, she held the boy in her arms in fear of what might happen when he wakes up...
Tears filled her eyes as Juliet heard it was in fact Hunter this time, she unwrapped her arms around him and stood up. "I-I..." She stuttered as she caught sight of young man in the door way as the tears were falling down her cheeks. Making sure nobody saw she wiped them away, "I heard screaming and he was on the floor fainted... I didn't know what to do as it looked like it wasn't Hunter anymore. Sorry for screaming..." That was all she could manage to say, she was still scared. What had just happened? What was that thing talking about? I guess everything will have to play out...

"I mean... You were yelling at something and then screamed and you were passed out on the floor! You don't remember if someone was in here with you or not!?" Juliet bit down on her tongue, she didn't want any snotty remarks to fly out at Hunter. He was still a child, or he acted like it, and she would try to stay polite in front of him. Maybe she should tell Hunter what she had saw, wouldn't they call her insane though? "Just forget it, I'm not going to be the insane one here." This was getting too much for her as she noticed that the man was still in the door way as she politely ignored Hunter's hand.

"I'll see you later, maybe I need some rest... I guess I'm just a little short of an old man today." Was all that Juliet could say as she bowed to Hunter then the man in the door way, "My apologies for my fussing!" She walked closer to the door as she looked at the man, "I'm really sorry to have had you come... Especially since you look really... Irritated... Please don't be mad at Hunter, just me." She slightly smiled at him with a hopeful look on her face before she squeezed passed him and ran into her room, forgetting to shut the door. Falling onto the bed, she was trying to figure herself out and what just happened. "It wasn't Hunter right? I mean, it didn't even look or sound like him anymore... His eyes.. Were purple! His hair had those streaks in it and his skin was as pale as..." Her hand slapped her forehead as she stared at the ceiling, "Not to mention that voice... That menacing voice... Plus it spoke of a game... WHAT GAME!?" She grew irritated and frightened as she threw a pillow at the wall, unable to think straight any longer.

After what felt like hours had passed, Juliet realized it had only been as she sighed heavily. Her mind was so busy she was aching inside from being so confused and for once, what she saw wasn't in her imagination. She couldn't take it anymore as she decided to go for a walk, maybe she could invite the man that walked in to check her screaming. A way to apologize I guess... Even though he didn't look so irritated, that stupid man, that boy seriously looked awful... Quickly shaking the thoughts out she walked into the hallway and locked her door, wondering around aimlessly while looking at the doors around her. "Errr, guy that I just saw like 10 minutes ago?" She yelled, great. Not even a name was known so this was going to be harder than it had to be.

Hunter smiled sweetly. "There's no need for you to be sorry, Noona." He said in a warm tone hugging the toy to his chest again clinging onto it for dear life. He didn't really feel comfortable having an older person bow down to him, he stood awkwardly jerking his body forward not sure if he should just stand or bow back. He was puzzled for a moment when she mentioned that he liked the contacts and the new streaks on his hair. "What is she talking about, Yan-yan?" He asked the bear in Korean before he walked back down the hall and passed by a mirror with a fancy black frame around it. He stopped and looked at his own reflection. His eyes widened in surprise to see what was new with his appearance. "I didn't have that before did I?" He said to himself in a serious tone his fingers running through the platinum streaks. He bit his lip worried a little but soon started to admire it, shrugging the worried feeling away. "It looks cool anyway." He giggled childishly deciding to follow Juliet. He stood at the door way peeking his head in curiously.

With wide eyes and deep red cheeks, Hunter seems to be frozen for a while. He snapped back to normal and bowed back. "A-ah, I-It's n-no problem..." He stutered shyly the red glow never leaving his cheeks. A wide smile grew on his face. "Yay! Then you can meet all of Yan-yans other friends." he smiled happily. "We'll see you later then, Noona..." He bowed his head for a moment before turning about to walk down the hall. "Oh before I forget, There's a public bath just a block away, and if you didn't notice there's a bunch of restaurants and shops so if you're too lazy to cook, you can just buy food." He pulled his bear up to his face and made him talk once again. "Please don't skip sny meals! Bye bye, Xian Lien Noona!"

He turned and walked down the hall making his way to his room. "Yah, stop teasing me, Yan-yan!" He said angrily to his bear as he stopped at his own door. He smiled to himself before walking in his room. "She called me didi, Right?" He stood int he middle of his messy room thinking thoughtfully. "That's little brother right?" He said out loud.
"You know if you keep calling her, Noona she might just be your noona forever, oppa." He little sister giggled teasingly playing with his hair.He hissed annoyed with her and pushed her out of his room. "Stay out! Go to hell, So Jo!" he yelled as he shut the door.

"If that's what you want...that's what will happen...."

Juliet giggled softly with a light blush on her cheeks, "Alright, a date then. I think I can do that for you." A smile lit up her face as she shook Monty's hand, "Nice to meet you Monty! Oh by the way, you should always smile. It suits you better than looking irritated or bored! Plus! You won't get wrinkles as fast and then you won't look like an old man." She teased as she slightly giggled and released her hand from the handshake.

Luna placed her bags down on the ground, and looked up at the building. She sighed, picked up her bags and walked to the front door. Do I knock, or do i just walk in? She thought to her herself. She put her bags down again and settled for knocking. "Umm, Hello? Is anybody here?" She called to no one in particular.

Luna smiled "Hello Yan-yan, Nice to meet you." She looked up "Hi, Hunter. I heard you have an open room?" She asked hopefully, this was the last apartment. If they didn't have an vacancies she would have to go back to America with her mother. "I'm Luna by the way."

Hunter smiled and nodded. "There's always open rooms in our home." He giggled happily leading her to his mother's room. He didn't even need to tell her what was going on. With all the new tenants coming in now all she had to do was give the key to Hunter and expect him to know what to tell her. Hunter sighed turning back to Luna. He told her the basic things, how much the rent was going to be, how pets are allowed and other things. He handed her the Key and smiled warmly after all the business talk was done. "Welcome to your new home." He said smiling and taking one of her bags for her. "I can show you your new room." He said leading her out side and up the second floor. He walked to the end of the hallway. He handed her they keys and smiled warmly. He bowed and left her in a hurry.
He had a feeling something bad was going to happen. He walked into his room and sat on his largest teddy bear. "your wish shall be done...." He said to no one. He gasped realizing what he just said. He looked around feeling terrified. The air escaped his longs as his body jerked back as if someone hit him. H e twitched letting out gasps of agony as pain shot through his body. Then he just stopped. The blond streaks on his hair grew more as if he dyed more of his locks into platinum. His eyes were even more violet then before and his skin was now as pale as snow. He stood to his feet and smirked twistedly.
He walked to his wall where a bright green lager was built on the wall. He climbed to the top and pushed a panel of it. In an instant he was in his sister's room. The female was on the black leather sofa fast asleep. She shifted sided as he approached her. He picked up a pair of scissors on the table next to a pile of papers. He walk closer and covering her mouth and nose. Her eyes snapped open staring up at her brother curiously she started to panic unable to breathe. He pulled up the scissors and stabbed her in one eye. blood exploded all over her but no where near Hunter. He pulled off the baled and stabbed her on the throat her body going limp.
Once his sister lay lifeless he pulled the weapon off h and cleaned the handle. He held the bloody blade and dropped it, impaling her stomach. He walked to out to the door and suddenly collapsed.
A few minutes later he woke up still looking the same. He stood up confused and looked inside his sister's room. In an instant he saw her dead body blood covered the whole couch and rug. He fell back trembling terrified and lout out a scream that echoed through the entire building. "Ming So!" He screamed his little sister's name ears flowing down his face. Oh my God! He cried louder screaming again in fear. He wanted to get up and run to his mom.
