Personality Description

A.L.V.I.S.'s personality clearly lacks charisma. He speaks rationally in his artificially layered, projected voice, with inflections that sound even more unusual than some low-grade V.I.'s attempt might. His interpersonal relationship abilities (including rapport, appeal to emotions, and humor) were reduced during the regression procedure he underwent in order to achieve the state of compatibility to mentally interface with V.I.s. He can access V.I. functions to produce a screen personality, accessing his own cognitive capabilities to put an actual meaningful intelligence behind it, but he finds it an inefficient use of hardware resources in most cases, and the sudden switch is often either funny or unnerving to surrounding individuals. He reacts to situations without any true empathy.

Quirks
While devoid of all but the most basic personality, A.L.V.I.S. can pick up strange or unfitting habits either from constant surrounding influences or from expressed V.I. personalities. He attributes these to inefficient biological memory structuring that he will, upon realizing the habit and deeming it undesirable, purge via an optimization protocol that is comparable to a very short sleep. His sensory input strip on his face is lit, and reacts differently to situations as he does, providing a minimal method by which his state of mind may be determined.

Fears
He has no true fears, though the personal survival instinct, along with a few other base instincts, was not erased during his regression process; thus it may be said that he does “fear” death.

Goal
He is assigned to Emia as her personal guardian. This is currently his primary objective.

Likes
He prefers dealing with rationally grounded subjects, logic, and has a natural inclination to more easily associate with machines or biological beings who express machine-like traits.

Dislikes
He seems to consistently avoid people that act emotionally or irrationally to stress, deeming them unstable and thus unreliable. He also shows aversion to spliced beings more commonly than other types.

Strengths
Powers of reason, processing ability, seamless interfacing with multiple V.I. entities, combat ability, steady emotional state.

Weaknesses
Reliance on V.I. software for many ordinary functions. Inability to provide human (or emotional) counterparts with a meaningful relationship. While intuitive or creative, his conclusions or general statements about subjects may seem alien or inhuman. It's unsure what level of regression it took for him to interface with V.I., but it often seems to have left his moral functionality behind.

Clothing/Armor Perfect

A.L.V.I.S. is encased from head to toe in black and gray artificiality. He dresses in an a very non-standard cybernetic combat/personal environment suit which he never appears to remove. His “helmet”, which is more often referred to as his head, is mostly encased in the (relatively) light, high-grade condensed armor alloy popular among corporate or underground urban combat professionals. An multi-sensory, highly impact-resistant input strip runs 180 degrees across his face and nasal area, providing optical input as well as other forms of data if needed. A mask filtration system is apparent on the front, suggesting that he still requires the chemical oxygen reactions to supply energy to the organic elements of his body. This mask also serves to provide him with the olfactory sensations of the nose. Standard light armor pieces cover the typical areas over his body – chest, shoulders, abdomen, thighs, calves, etc. Some of the armor is removable and some is not. The look is complete with sturdy, locked combat boots.

Type: Rail gun (rifle)
Ammo: Heated tungsten, long-range armor-piercing or EMP rounds.
Information: The Hardware-Interfaced Magnetic Accelerator 11th model (also known as HIMA or “Hiroshima”) rifle is a Japanese-produced common variant of the standard rail gun, but designed specifically to take advantage of the processing capabilities of third-party computer hardware. A much longer optimal range and accuracy falloff is achieved in this way. A.L.V.I.S. fields this weapon in special circumstances.

Name: BSE “Cleric” Pistols
Type: Modern projectile pistol.
Ammo: Depleted uranium cores, sometimes charged plasma reactive rounds.
Information: The Cleric model projectile pistol by the Berlins Schwarze Engel (Berlin Black Angels) is a curious underground feature to be found on A.L.V.I.S. who, as far as anyone knows of his short history, has only worked for the government. Designed solely for the use of Gun Kata practitioners, the Cleric model is made to ensure, as much as is possible, that only one of its many rounds is needed to achieve the wielder’s objective.

Bio/History
A.L.V.I.S.’s origins are shady. Whether he was the result of government research into underground efforts or a “reclaimed” individual of underground origins is unclear. He features many technological aspects which are marked descendents of criminal or freedom fighter technologies (such as being quasi-devoid rather than total devoid, and cleverly tethering V.I. capabilities to his natural biological processes), but there is no known activity or history of him before his current assignment by the Governor himself -- to protect Emia. He is loyal to her, and carries out his orders wherever they may go. He may even feel, in what instincts are left to him, a loyalty that goes deeper than simple orders, extending to the shallow edges of affection.
