Setting
Run by the notorious Katie Haartvelt (Madame Haartvelt to you), the House, as it is sometimes simply called, caters to the sexual needs of Stillriver men. A total of six women find employ there and protection under the watchful eye of the Madame. Commanding nearly as much respect as a witch herself, Katie, is the closest thing Stillriver has to a queen.
The building itself is on the south end of town between the Saloon street and the small Chinese district. It sports an antebellum replica face which makes it look, from the front anyway, very much like an old plantation house. The choice of style is likely the work of Ms. Hartvelt who left the home of her youth, South Carolina, after the War.
