Identifying Features: Aluria's remaining spiritual powers allow him to possess no longer living corpses of creatures and fully control them from the inside. This ability causes a huge variation in his appearance, as he usually jumps from person to person after their body can longer survive his alterations. The problem he is having currently is finding a body that can withstand large amounts of spiritual energies.
True Form: Before the loss of his body, his form was that of a usually tall muscular humanoid, who despite his structure was incredibly lightweight. He could change his shape in various manners, but he was usually as tall as he could be when he wasn't on a mission. His body had six arms, and his feet were very similar to a birds, allowing him to grip things with them almost as well as hands. Aluria had six eyes, four in the front and two in the back of his head, slits for nostrils, with no other facial features. He was capable of communicating telepathically. Aluria's skin was dark and leathery. His body was also covered with small barely visible pores, and he was filled with a number of gadgets and attachments. Arana didn't wear clothes until they met humans but soon after working and trading with them Aluria gained a fondness for camouflage gear, sneak suits, and other such attire.
Occupation: None, though he often poses as an information gatherer, historian, or an online librarian. He was once a personal attendant of the Grand Commander of the Arana military.
Personality: Aluria is loyal to those he trusts and indifferent to most anyone else. He cares little for the feelings or ideals of those outside of what he considers his personal circle. While he does have a violent history, he does his best avoid causing harm whenever he can, most of his original built in weapons and abilities were non-lethal. He usually outfits his newer forms with similar equipment.
Abilities: An Arana spirit can do little other than travel the astral plane of existence and possess unoccupied bodies (it can also communicate with those who can see or talk to spirits. Once possession is complete, he can complete reanimate the forum as well as use any abilities that he or the body he had taken over was capable of, as long as the body he possesses could preform such an action itself. Because of this Aluria usually has the body he has ownership altered either by himself or by various underground doctors. Also, unlike most spirits, an Arana spirit never really had an original body, and as such when the body containing the spirit is killed doesn't return to its place of creation, partially due to the fact that such a place doesn't exist, as far as Aluria knows anyway.
True Form: Aluria's abilities in his true form were built around stealth, information gathering, and espionage. He's was designed from "birth" to be what he was.
Bio: 130 years before the current year, deep within unchartered space there lied Taluma, a tutelar of immense power. Also know as the Arboreal Nebula, it was in reality a sentient being deep within space that had been surviving thanks its ability to tap into the power of the higher realms of existence. Taluma had created a species of beings called the Kinrai, a species of highly advanced undead plants. Due to the small numbers of the Kinrai race they themselves created the Arana spiritual system, a device with the ability to create false souls, program them, and then place them in artificial bodies suited for different tasks among Kinrai society. The Kinrai used the Arana as not just as workers, messengers, cleaners, and couriers but as part of their main military force, defending themselves from those would seek the power of Taluma unjustly as the deity himself had no divine realm to which call his own and was thus existing vulnerably on this material plane. Most of the Arana were unintelligent, almost to the point of being hive minded, but there were a few members of the subspecies who were capable of thoughts of their own, but unable to act upon them. One of the most powerful Arana commanders was a being known as Ieyasu, and Aluria was his most trusted personal attendant. Meanwhile on the planet Earth, human technology had come to a point where deep space travel was possible, and by sheer chance an exploring vessel had come across Taluma and the Kinrai people. At first the Kinrai were indifferent to the humans who were only searching for new places to the call their own and enjoy freedoms that they claimed they could not experience from their homeworld. The visiting humans saw the Arana and after founding out the had souls, had become highly suspicious of the Kinrai's motives and actions. Soon the humans had become particularly aggravated with the Kinrai's unfair (depending on how you view the situation) treatment of their so called "servants", and decided it was time for a change. The Kinrai survived solely by eating the fruit of Taluma, this fruit was made from quintessence, one of the powerful "ingredients" of divinity. Upon scientific study the humans had realized that such power would be able to grant freedom to the Arana race, allowing them to decide for themselves their own destiny. Since humanity believed that freedom for the Arana was the right thing to do they began making effort earn the Arana their deserved freedom. It is not known exactly how the humans had gained access to the fruit, but their studies had been proven correct as when they gave the fruit to the Arana the power within freed them captivity, but its effects only worked for the only the most powerful. Ieyasu was one of these chosen Arana and when Taluma refused the right for him to choose his own destiny and travel with humanity he decided he would gain his freedom by force. However, Aluria was one who pleaded with Ieyasu to try his hand at asking for freedom from the Kinrai first. The Arana and Kinrai battled by diplomacy for only a few short years until enough had been enough, and the Arana sided with the humans in a final effort for freedom. They battled in space amongst each other for years, until finally, the Kinrai had been pushed back into their capital city amongst the boughs of Taluma himself. After a harsh battle Ieyasu decided that the time had come for him and Aluria to part ways, and despite the plea of his attendant, he and two of his lieutenants were sent to flee with the humans while he finished the final battle with the Kinrai leaders. The reasons for such actions from Ieyasu are not know by Aluria. Aluria does not know the details of what happened afterward, however he was witness to the destruction that befell Taluma while he and his two allies, Eryku and Astaloai fled with the remaining human forces. Aluria knew only one thing about his master, and that was that he had expired in the battle for his freedom. Desperate for any solution to solve the madness he had descended into without his caring leader, Aluria researched a way to bring about his master's return. While Astaloai and Eryku searched for their own reasons to continue existing, Aluria continued to search for an answer. Decades of searching lead Aluria to the knowledge of the Akashic Record, a place of mostly unknown origin in which all of a single planes history has been recorded. Apparently, those with enough divine power can access this knowledge and use it to their own devices. Aluria decided that this was the way to return his master to him, and began searching for a way to gain access to one of the most powerful collections of information in the known universe.
