Esha had heard the commotion and instinctively she raced into Kaitlin's room only to see that her daughter wasn't there, and she overheard what was said outside making it easy for her to figure out what had happened. Not only that but with the shards of glass that were scattered across the floor and the ladder that was leaning against the wall made it all to clear that someone had taken her little girl.
Even the sound of screeching tires as the kidnappers escaped only drove the thought of her daughter being gone deeper into her thoughts, and a deep sense of horror and dread began to snake through her like ice water. For what felt like an eternity all Esha could do was stand there in complete and total disbelief as the reality of the situation slowly sank in, and before she even realized it herself she had buried her face in her hands from where she was sitting on Kaitlin's bed and just let herself break down crying.

At the same time, a phone rang in what looked like some kind of office room that was devoid of anything save a desk and an occupied chair. As if they already knew who was calling, the hidden figure that was present in the chair picked up the phone and listened to what was said on the other end.
"So you have her then........good, bring her here and I'm sure you know what to do next." He said and after listening to a few more words from the other end of the phone, he hung it back up while waiting for the two kidnappers to return from their mission.

Brad instinctively pulled esha in, holding her tight against him while she cried, his face devoid of any emotions as he stared at the wall, his mind racing in every direction at once.

when he finally did speak, his voice sounded distant, filled with a hatred that burned to the very core of his soul. "who ever did this, i swear they will pay with their lives!" brad whispered to her with a conviction that meant he would fullfill it or die trying.

Esha just buried her face in his shirt while clinging to Brad as if she were scared something even worse would happen if she let go of him.
"But what can we do? If we try anything who knows what these people will do to Kaitlin." She managed to say in a shaky voice while more tears kept tracing wet lines down her face. She was terrified of what might happen to Kaitlin while she was in the hands of whoever planned this whole thing, and thinking of these people doing something to hurt her little girl scared her even worse.
She honestly felt like there should have been something they could have done to prevent all this from happening, but there was no way to change it now. All they could do was wait for the kidnappers to contact them and tell them what to do to rescue their daughter.

Brad just kept holding her tightly not saying a word more because of the burning anger that was welled up inside him over someone taking his little love, but also because he didn't have the answers to her questions.

he knew that sleep was out of the question so he didn't even bother mentioning it and only slightly noticed when Esha had cried herself to sleep, still clinging to his shirt, her face buried. he gently picked her up and carried her to bed then sat there the rest of the night staring out into the shadows, causing them to scamper away in fear of his pent up rage. never in his entire life had he ever felt so much rage.

When Esha woke up again it was near daylight, and she could see the sky turning lighter right outside their bedroom window. When the memories of last night suddenly slammed into her, she first wanted to believe it was all a nightmare that she had dreamed up. However when she saw Brad sitting there obviously furious and no sign of Kaitlin when she would usually have run in and jumped up on the bed to wake up her parents, she moved so she was sitting next to Brad and slid her arms around him. She had cried so much that night that she felt to emotionally drained to even let more tears fall down her face. In all honesty she felt so numb inside, as if her heart had literally been ripped from her chest leaving her hollow and empty inside.

"Why......why did this have to happen to Kaitlin?! She was the last person who deserved to get caught up in all this chaos." Esha thought to herself, but the answer didn't come to her and she had all ideas they wouldn't until they found out what exactly these kidnappers wanted out of them.

Esha had just awoken when the phone rang, startling them both. Brad rose and walked over to the phone anxious to talk to whoever was on the other end, just to see if his daughter was ok, but still to upset, and not wanting his anger to be heard on the phone.

He picked up the phone "hello' he said tryingto stiffle the anger from his voice but failing "Brad..Brad whats wrong?' he heard kat ask through the phone. "brad..are you there still.. tell me what happened." she pleaded, sounding like she was ready to jump through the phone. "they took Kaitlin" he finally muttered "they took her and now i'm goingto find the bastards that did this and tear them limb from limb" he swore his voice shaking with anger.

"Brad calm down, you storming the castle isn't going to get your kaitlin back. just stay put i'm coming right over" she pleaded to him

At first Esha thought it was the kidnappers calling them, but when she heard Kat's voice on the other end of the line she felt a surge of relief run through her despite her depressed state. Maybe between all of them they could figure out what was going on, or why Kaitlin had been kidnapped. Although even if that wasn't the case, then the more help they had the better their chances of getting Kaitlin back alive and unharmed.




"Alright I'll be there as fast as I can so don't go doing anything crazy. If the kidnappers call before I get there find out what you can but don't make any moves until I get there." Kat told Brad once more before ending their phone conversation.

"So what's going on?" D asked from where him and Jake were sitting nearby, while Blaze listened in from their small kitchen. They could all tell that something was seriously wrong from the way Kat had sounded, and apparently it had something to do with Brad and Esha's daughter.

"It's Kaitlin, she's been kidnapped." Kat explained and after the initial shock, everyone was ready to jump in and go at the kidnappers' throats. However, she finally managed to get everyone back on track after some more information was exchanged, and soon they were all headed towards the house where Brad and Esha now lived.

Brad walked over to Esha, knowing she would need alot of emotional support right now. he wrapped his arms aound her and gave her a quick squeeze before conveying what Kat had told him, which in all reality wasn't much. the phone rang again, and again Brads heart nearly jumped from his chest. after a brief conversation he relayed to Esha that it was his aunt calling to see if they still planned on bringing Kaitlin by. God he wished the kidnappers would call just so he could make sure his baby girl was alive and well

Not long after the phone conversation had ended, there was a rather loud knock on the door to Brad and Esha's house. "Come on answer already." Kat said as she stood there waiting for one of them to come down and get the door. The rest of her mismatched family also stood behind her, and it was obvious they were all ready for this search and rescue mission. If it could be called a search and rescue, more like wait for instructions then try to go rescue anyone. Oh well they'd work with what they had, and either way they were ready to dish out some pain on these kidnappers once they managed to get Kaitlin back safely.

Brad quickly opened the door, already guessing who was on the other side. "Are we glad to see you guys" he said hugging Kat and shaking hands with the others. "they left us no clues this time except they were driving a dark green van with no windows in the back.' he said describing the vehicle he had seen as he stood in the window watching them flee. almost on cue the telephone rang.

"if you want to see your girl again then you and that freak of yours meet us at the pier at 6:00 sharp and no funny stuff.' he said into the phone " i want to know that shes still ok, how do i know you havent hurt her already?" brad asked his anger growing. the man put kaitlin on the phone long enough to let them know she was alive and unharmed for now then came back on the phone and said "6:00" and hung up the phone

"Well that only gives us about four hours to come up with something" he said between clinched teeth, his anger building even though he knew his daughter was fine for now

"Who's he calling a freak?!" Blaze spat out in an angry hiss since the conversation had been loud enough for Kat and the others to hear. Needless to say hearing anyone of their friends, specifically either Brad or Esha, called something like that by a couple of bastards like them really sent the fury of the small group up a few notches.

"But whatever we come up with, it's got to be well thought out. If they even suspect we're up to something......well I don't want to think about that." Esha said, and despite how this whole mess was effecting her she was trying not to let that show to much or get in the way of things. The more important thing right now was getting Kaitlin back by whatever means necessary, but for now they were all going to have to be careful.

"Well it's six against two from the sounds of it, and I think if we play our cards right we can get Kaitlin back and one-up them before they even know what hit them." Kat said as a rather wicked gleam appeared in her gold eyes, showing she was thinking up something Although knowing her, no matter how wild her plans might seem she usually came up with something that worked one way or another. Even with the situation as it was now.

Brad saw the shimmer in Kats eyes and knew she was whipping up a plan in her head. "what are you thinking about?" brad asked her truely interested to see what kind of masochistic plan she could come up with, and yes, hearing the way the person on the other end had talked it would be very painful indeed.

" i thin kthe first thing we should do is act complacent, find out how many of them there truely are." brad added, his anger lessening allowing his logical thinking to kick in. ' there were three here at the house, but whos to say if that was all of them. this is not a normal group of haters we are dealing with and if i am thinking right they are going to have a plan set up for different types of situations." he added sitting in a chair and placing his chin in his hand

"Exactly, but from past experiences there's always a way to trip up people like this. See from my limited perspective, it looks as if they'll only expect you and Esha to show up tonight and we could use that to our advantage. If the rest of us could somehow sneak up there while you two 'seal the deal' so to speak, then we might have a clearer shot at things." Kat explained while taking a few notes on a piece of paper she had grabbed earlier. They were going to really need to plan this as carefully as possible since they couldn't do anything that would put Kaitlin at to high of a risk. However if they could at least get more information on who these people were and who they might be working for, then that was a step in the right direction. Now the catch was figuring out how to get out there without getting caught, since the instructions had been very clear that these guys didn't want any 'funny business' going on during this tradeoff.

"What if we went ahead to the pier and acted as lookouts? There's enough places out there to hide the van so no one would find it and we could blend in pretty easily with the scenery, so it'd be an easy spy job out there." Jake suggested and in all honesty he had a point. Although it was mostly old buildings, the pier still had enough places surrounding it that could be used as lookout points for the small group. Especially if they spread out then they could cover more ground and get a good look at these guys with no one being the wiser about it.

Brad had to admit thatthey all made logical points so he nodded his approval and looked to esha to buy off on their plan. he glanced at the clock and notices that they only had an hour and a half to finalize this beforethey had to leave. the pier was at least thirty minutes away, and that was if traffic wasn't bad.

Brad still had a bad feeling about this whole thing. the way the man had addressed esha left a bad taste in his mouth. "have they ever really gotten a good look at you Esha?" he asked looking from her to Kat then back again. he thought that just maybe he could take Kat along with him posing as esha. not that he had any doubts of her ability but he knew Kat to be the more aggressive one in case things went ugly

"Well no not that I know of." Esha said since the only time she had seen these guys was when Kaitlin had been kidnapped and when they tried breaking into the house. Although it had been really dark that night so they probably hadn't seen much very well, and the one she had knocked out had been facing away from her so as far as she knew they hadn't seen her.

"Wait......you're thinking of me and Esha switching places for the time being aren't you?" Kat asked when she noticed the way Brad was glancing between the two of them. While it was true they did look a little alike, it was still iffy as to whether that would work or not. Then again they may have to go out on a limb and try it, but the real trick would be when Kaitlin saw them. She would immediately know that it wasn't Esha with Brad, but she was smart and would probably figure things out without being told. Not only that but in a case like this, it was doubtful she'd go telling that bit of information out loud to anyone.

"But would that work? I mean we'd be taking a huge risk if we even attempted that." Esha said and Kat nodded in agreement. It would be risky for the two of them to switch places, mainly because if the kidnappers figured it out who knew what would happen. Especially if they still had Kaitlin but if they could at least get her away from them, then that would help eliminate some of the risk. No matter what they decided the biggest factor was getting Kaitlin back safe and in one piece, and if they could do that then the rest would just fall where it would.

brad just shrugged. he had no idea if it would work of not but at this point in time he couldn't think of anything else logical. he eyed them both again then without saying a word he left the room, returning a few minutes later with one of Eshas shirts and the hat she used to wear when they had first ran off together. "here try this on" he said tossing them to her and looking at her expectantly before realizing that she was not Esha and probably not comfortable just changing in front of people. slightly embarrassed he pointed to a room nearby where she could change.

she emerged a few minutes later and Brad had to take a double take to make sure it was really Kat he was looking at and not his Esha. "wow i think we could pull it off" he said letting out a low whistle. "what do you guys think?" he asked

"Hmmm........you know I think you're on to something." Esha said as she glanced over Kat as if making sure there wasn't anything she should add just to make the trick work even better. Although from the looks of it they pretty much had everything covered, because as long as those kidnappers couldn't tell who was who then they were set.

"But are you okay with this Esha? I mean I don't want to do anything if you don't think it'd be a good idea." Kat said since this was more then just fooling a couple of kidnappers. If this plan didn't work then that could put Kaitlin in more danger and if Esha wasn't willing to take that risk then there was no point in going through with this plan at all.

"Well I may still worry if this will really work or not, but I think this will be our best chance of getting Kaitlin back without something worse happening. Besides I'm better at sneaking around then a head on fight, so if anything did end up going wrong at least that might offer enough of a distraction that I could get in and grab Kaitlin before these kidnappers figured out what was up." Esha said as a thoughtful look appeared on her face. She'd have to get close enough that she could move fast if that happened but at the same time stay out of sight, but she doubted that would be very difficult. These guys would be more focused on Brad and their fake 'Esha' more then anything else so getting to the right spot shouldn't be hard. Although even she knew there were plenty of chances this could go all wrong, but either way they had to chance it or who knew what would happen to their daughter.

Brad ganced at the motley group gathered in his living room. a warm smile crossing his face, for he knew that the group that stood before him would do everything in their power to get Kaitlin back safe, not only that but most likely exact some revenge on the group that had put them through this mess to begin with.

Brad adjusted the hat on Kats head. " alright every one ready? we don't have much time till sunset and a little drive ahead of us." he said as he opened the door allowing the cool early evening breeze to enter.

the drive to the pier was quiet, everyones anxiety level was high, but uneventfull. when they finally got there and everyone piled out, they spent a few moments taking in the details since noeone was very familiar with it. Brad looked at Kat. "you ready?" he asked then with a quick nod to the rest of the group and a rather passionate kiss for Esha the two of them headed off to the appointed meeting spot.

While Brad headed off towards the pier with Kat close behind, Esha and the rest of the rather mismatched group began spreading out over the area at different points in case things turned ugly. With them spread out a little like this, that meant it'd be easier to come in from all sides should it become necessary although they were all hoping that didn't end up being the case. Also, as suggested, Esha hid the closest to where Brad and Kat would be standing so that if necessary she could sneak in and grab Kaitlin before a real fight broke out.

Just as expected, not long after Brad and Kat reached the edge of the pier another black colored vehicle drove up in their direction. It was the same color as the one the kidnappers had used the night before, so needless to say it was pretty clear that's who had just driven up.
"Stay on guard Brad, they may try and pull a fast one on us." Kat whispered to him, her tone of voice revealing she was on edge even though she outwardly appeared fairly calm. That's just how she was, if she could fool people into believe she wasn't schemeing anything or suspicious then the more likely it was she could trip them up somehow.

brad and Kat watched the van pull up, stopping a short distance from where they were. a lone man exited the van and eyed them both before motioning with his hand for them to move towards him. Brad hesitated looking at kat then hesitantly started forward. he was relieved to see that Kat appeared to be in the same state of confusion as he. once they were withing a few feet of the van the man held up his hand, halting them then made a motion towards the van." put your hands against the van" he said, his voice quiet and raspy. they followedthe mans instructions, trying to buy the rest of the group time to get into their vantage points. as of yet they had yet to see Kaitlin. brad crooned his neck, trying to see inside the back of the van. "shes not in their.' the man whispered as he searched brad, then Kat for any weapons.

once he was satisfied that they han no weapons he motioned for them to get in the van. Brad hesitated unsure if he should comply and leave the rest behind, hopingthey could muster quick enough to follow, or try to makethe meeting place here. he glanced a the man and decided that the first was probably the better option. he glanced out into the growing darkness then with a sigh got in the van.
