Well, we have a Pieces, Virgo, Cancer, and Sagittarius; Scorpio, Gemini, and Aries have been spoken for, and Aquarius is dead, so that leaves Taurus, Leo, Libra, and Capricorn.

I hadn't thought of that; I haven't really got a preference. It's your RP, so I guess it's your call on that; I think it would be unwise to flounder about it for too long.

Well, if you're going to specify genders, you should specify sexual orientation too, so you don't end up with two straight boys and three lesbian girls in the Stone family.

I figured an extended family thrown in would make more space for characters, and generally more action. Although, if the RP is supposed to be centered around the children combating their parents over their significant others, it doesn't make much sense to have Uncle Earl stealing the silverware.

Well, if you're looking for tips, a plot is often handy. The characters need to have a good reason to interact with each other instead of just going about their daily lives. (Having the plot be the characters' daily lives is not a good idea, mainly because it would assume that the characters already...
