I try to avoid romance in my own posts simply because most people aren't interested in reading it, as they don't have the same emotional attachment you do to your own characters. But I don't feel as if you went too far.

Yeah, reading Rand Al'Thor is pretty off-putting, lol. But hey, we all have off streaks, hence why I suggested trying some different fantasy books. If I recall correctly, reading the WoT series is a bit like a marathon, takes quite a while and some parts just aren't that great.
