Luke chuckled a little, "I hear ya," he responded, "You have a horse?" Luke asked, his interest had been peaked. "Do you ride?" His eyes sparkled a little with excitement.
"It's hard to know your neighbors when you live out here," Luke admitted, "Um, my parents, brother and sister, and my cousins, aunt and uncle just moved in a few days ago, so the house is pretty full." He said as he shrugged.
While putting away the groceries, Luke gazed out of the window for a quick second. He paused for a moment, noticing someone wandering their house. He walked out onto the front porch, "Hi, can I help you?" He asked politely.
Lane grinned widely, "Then, I think we won't have a problem," he said, holding her hand. Lane had never met anyone who tolerated his behavior and attitude, maybe this was meant to me. "So... now that you know I can be an ass, tell me about yourself?" He laughed.

He just came back from the grocery store for his parents. The eighteen year old got out of h...

Lane scoffed, "Tell that to those people," he shrugged, "I know I'm a jerk and that's okay with me. I mean, I know that I'm smart and I'm cocky about it but that's fine with me."
Lane smiled after Blair kissed him, "I can name about thirty people who don't like that," he chuckled a little, "And that's not counting all the people I've ever had class with."
"Yeah, that's still really difficult for me to understand," he admitted. Lane was well aware that many people didn't like him and they had legitimate reasons for not liking him, "Why do you like me?" He asked.
"That'd be fine... if only I knew when to keep my mouth shut. As I'm sure you already know, I say things I shouldn't because I don't really care how it effects the other person..." He pointed out.
"Um... yeah..." He said nervously, rubbing the back of his head, "As long as you promise your parents won't be there. I don't do well with meeting the parents." He had met one set of parents and that was disasterous. Here's a hint: Never, ever bring up politics.
Lane always felt awkward when people brought up their families, but he tried to get over that awkward feeling in order to have a real conversation. "Yeah, that must be rough, it's good to have a family that's there for you," he commented. Lane family was made up of him, his dad and his mom...
"Jeez... You were a rebel, weren't you? But no more?" He asked, "But if you're paid, you'll still be a rebel? It's moments like this that I wish I had a lot of money," he laughed.
"You followed My Chemical Romance around for two whole months? God... we are so different," Lane said with a laugh. Lane was the kid who showed up to class when he had the flu and a fever. Sure, he would be carrying around a box of Kleenex and be wearing his pajamas, but he would be in cla...
Lane smiled on the inside with Blair's comment, "That guy's a genius... I can't even do half of what he can do," he admitted, "But thanks. Of all the people in journalism, who do you respect and admire the most? Like, who do you want to be?"
"Um... pretty much. I mean, how often do you have a problem and don't know how to solve it? Or you want an outsider's information? Or you want to help people?" He asked, looking at her reaction before picking up the menu again.
