Open Challenge - Realistic T1

Tips: 0.00 INK Postby Athanasius on Wed Oct 08, 2008 4:55 am

Rules of Engagement: Realistic T1: Weapons are optional, and the weapon chosen will be up to the controller of the character. The weapons can be anything within the real world.

Johnathan Alexander will be the character I use.

If you accept the fight, please respond with your choice of character, and preference of posting. (I.E. Do you want to go first, or do you want me to go first. )

The Setting will be up to the person who posts first, thus whoever posts first will have the distinctive advantage of the terrain of their choosing.

There will be a five day time limit on the fight when it begins. If the opponent has not responded within your standard school/work week then he/she forfeits the match.

I'll accept. But I would prefer you opened. I'm thinking of using a female longsword user, or a naginata wielder. Whichever would be a good balance for your character.
For all of those that have a character that uses the katana...I only know of two that I can say know how to use it properly.

Alright, I'll be using Johnathan Alexander, you can either read the Character Profile under Profiles or if you want, I can post the Character profile in a seperate post on the forums after I post my introduction, by then you'll know just about everything there is to know about him anyway.

Introduction of Johnathan Alexander:

In general comparison to others of the Special Forces division codenamed Rainbow the man was small. Still able to easily bench twice his body weight and then some, and able to outrun most people half his age, he was considered one of the weaker members of Rainbow. He compensated for the physical inferiority with a superior mental ability and superior marksmenship. Stepping his body onto the roof-top he had come to use as his every-day vantage point. He bent down, setting up his sniper rifle and placing the reflex scope on the weapon. The scope stayed sighted, as it was never changed from the first moment it had been put into place. Using this scope, he looked out over the terrain that had been chosen for a confrontation.

The terrain was rigid with rock structures and buildings that would have once been gloriously designed. These buildings had once served for the great city of Heathrow, London. Until Nuclear war had engulfed the world and destroyed most signs of habitation and human life. The stone structures offered a slight bit of cover for anyone who might linger into the city in these days, but not as much as one would want. The main gate, and indeed the only way into the city since the holes in the concrete wall had been patched up, was directly to his front. This was so that he would be able to see anyone who entered the region.

Dropping the sights of the rifle to allow him a better vantage of the entire city he began to swivel back and forth, searching for any wild animal that might have entered or human life that could be lingering from a refuge for the night. He swiveled on the spot, checking the front of the building, and then moving to check the back. The back of the building was much the same as the front, though there was no protection on that end. No structures to hide behind, no buildings, just flat desolation. The back of the main building had once served as Rainbow's training ground, to train them in marksmanship.

Noting nothing of interest in this sector either, he moved back to the front of the building to once more take up his spot with a vantage point trained directly on the entrance. He watched and waited, the sun behind his form with it rising through a slow pace in the sky. He had positioned himself well, as it always seemed to happen in the wee hours of the morning. The sun was rising behind him, and thus his scope did not glint. He had himself covered with a low gray tint, close to matching the exact color of the building. This served to keep the sun off the viewing section of the scope, and keep the glint from blinding him. Also hiding his body, clothed in full Rainbow combat gear of black, against the contrast of the rooftop.

Here he sat, waiting silently for his query. Hoping that it would be something edible, he hadn't eaten in days. He sat there with his Sniper Rifle trained dead on on the entrance to the compound. His MP-9, sat on full-automatic, rested on the ground beside himself, along with four frag grenades and two flash-bangs. Sitting there, he waited for the imminent appearence of some form of sentient being. The only sound was the low breezing wind rustling through the trees, and the few birds re-settling the area.

This was the thrill that Carlos lived for as a soldier: the excitement of the stalking and the riptide of the adrenaline that followed. The Hispanic man garbed in combat gear and desert-colored cloth allowed him to mesh well with the derelict remains of the nuclear holocaust, but as he toted his automatic rifle in his hands he went forth with an ever careful precision, his back hugged to the ruined wall of the building he had chosen for cover while he traversed the landscape in search for his opponent. The M-4 rifle was lifted and pressed to his shoulder as he slithered to the corner of an open crossroad, wary that anyone with a sniper rifle would seek to pick him off during an unwary trek across the gaps. Alas, it was a dangerous terrain, but it would appear that a battered car that kissed the far edge or the road promised for cover; if he bothered to creep his head to view a potential threat, a gift of high-speed metal might well smack him upside the skull with deadly consequences. With a fearless courage he lunged himself sideways while and rolled off of his shoulder to cover the distance of ten feet in a matter of a few moments.

Against the mutilated front bumper of the vehicle he nestled himself and decided to scope out the area far to the rear, where the face of yet another broken building loomed. With his left hand he reached into his side satchel and pulled for an ear and eye set equipped with a fiber-optic cable and lens. With that worn he twisted the considerably lengthy cable toward the ground and looked out from the car, a useful vantage that hardly put him into danger. All the while a wily smile painted his bronzed flesh in anticipation for the crossing of he and his adversary.

Flickers of motion had caught his eye, he quickly swivled the scope in just enough time to see a man rest his back against the front end of a destroyed automobile. The motion betrayed the man's position, but didn't give him a clean shot to take him down. He waited there, not moving, just keeping the sights trained on that one spot. He waited for any open shot, anything that could give him any cause of pain to the opposition.

The target seemed to be a soldier himself, and so he knew the man would know the tricks of the game the same as he. He figured the opponent had never been a Rainbow member though, and he would lack the skills that other members of Rainbow found as second nature to them. A thought suddenly occured to him, the car was destroyed in terms of cosmetic damage, but the vehicle was still in great shape compared to blown up auto-mobiles. A smile crossed his face as he trained the gun's sights on the gasoline-hold. Firing off two quick rounds, the second five seconds behind the first.

Both bullets traveled the distance in the span of a few seconds, the first one piercing the gas tank, perhaps spilling out in small drops any gas that might have been left. He knew that there was fas in the vehicle's tank. He knew it was full, he spent the better part of every-night filling the tank up with what was leaking out just in case someone decided to come along and use it for cover. The second bullet hit the metal just above the first. The sparks of open flame and heat from the glancing blow ignited the fumes and the gasoline.

In this instance, the car would explode. The explosion would lift the car from the ground and the heat and flames would incinerate the opponent, Carlos, if he didn't move in time. Though, with the silencer on the sniper rifle, it would be near to impossible for him to have known the shots came, much less move from the car in time to evade the explosion.

Johnathan Alexander: There will be a five day time limit on the fight when it begins. If the opponent has not responded within your standard school/work week then he/she forfeits the match.

OOC: It has been your standard five days, and Absolution has not responded to this thread, whereas he/she has responded to the other threads in which he/she had an on-going fight in progress. So, in accordance with the time limit, that Absolution accepted when he/she accepted the fight, the fight is over, and I win. So here is my connection post.

IC: As the bullet rocketed into the gas-tank of the car, and the explosion became imminent and disatrous. Fire consumed the body of Carlos, the opponent. The car was launched several inches into the air due to the force of gasoline and fire exploding in such a compressed space, and with the car's launch came the flames of immolation wrapping around the form of the being. Immolation was a sure thing from the heat and contempt of the flames.

The car's launch not only caused the flames to engulf the construction of his opponent, but in occurence the car shot moved forward and turned with the explosion's force, landing on top of the being and crushing his vertebrae. The entire force of which severed the cerberal cortex from the spinal column of Carlos. Even had the flames not killed the man, he would have been left paralyzed and this battle would have been over either way.
