Personality: Krieg suffers from Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), and thus has two different personalities. His outer personality, the one that controls much of his actions, is that of a violent, impulsive Psycho. He'll scream about meat, and bodily functions at the top of his lungs which make no sense, and takes great pleasure in killing. But he's not without his redeemable qualities. He's very caring, and extremely protective of his fellow Vault Hunters, in particular Maya. He is very aggressive, and is always ready for a fight.
His inner personality, his true personality, is much more stoic, and level-headed. His inner voice is able to keep his outer personality from acting on his violent impulses, well at least the ones that would do harm to his friends. His inner voice can, at times, take control of his body. But these are rare occasions. The inner personality holds the stronger feelings towards Maya.
Likes: MEAT! BLOOD! WHEN THIER HEADS MAKE THAT WONDERFUL SQUISHING NOISE! FIGHTING! WHEN THE VOICE SHUTS UP! MY PECS! THE SOUNDS HER HOLES CRIED! When he actually listens to me, when he doesn't shout about bodily functions, getting paid like the old days, and Maya.
Dislikes: THE NEEDLES WITH THE PURPLE! THE PURPLE! THE METAL FUN PALACE! THE BIRTHING! REMEMEBERING! Hurting an innocent, excessive killing, being ignored, and himself.
Skills: Incredible strength, expert in melee combat, extremely durable, and great accuracy when throwing objects.
History: Before Krieg became the meat-loving, terror-inducing, and blood spewing Psycho everyone knows, and loves, he was a Bounty Hunter. While doing a job on Hera, he was hired by Handsome Jack to track down a rouge Hyperion scientist, and bring him in alive. When he found him however, the scientist decided not to go back to Hyperion, and slit his own wrists. Before he died, he warned Krieg to get as far away from Hyperion as possible.

Krieg returned to Jack, having failed his mission. Jack...was not happy. Jack had Krieg captured, and shipped to Pandora to undergo the experiments using Eridium, and it's byproduct Slag. He was injected with the stuff daily, and under went great pain. Over time, to protect himself, he developed a separate personality to take the brunt of the experiments. This separate identity gradually took complete control over Krieg, with his true self barely a whisper in the back of his mind.

Eventually Krieg escaped, and slaughtered the entire research facility. He made sure to take special time when dealing with the woman in charge. Once free, Krieg roamed Pandora, killing anything, and everything he saw without a care in the world. And all his true self could do is watch in horror. Eventually the two personas were able to come to an understanding. Inner Krieg would allow his outside persona control over his body, and wouldn't fight back, as long as he didn't kill a innocent, and then he would take control, and kill themselves. Then he met Maya at a train station. Krieg instantly recognized her as a Siren warrior who could kill him with her mind in an instant.

Maya thought he was going to attack her, so she struck first, and opened fire on him. Krieg dove to cover, not sure what to do. But then a group of Rats, cannibalistic bandits, came to investigate the commotion. They snuck up behind Maya without her noticing them. Inner Krieg tried to get his outside persona to warn her, but all that came out was threats. When a break in her fire came, due to her reloading, he took this opportunity to help her.

He threw his Buzz Axe past Maya, and straight into the head of a Rat that was about to attack Maya. He leaped over Maya, and made short work of the Rats. After all of them were dead, Inner Krieg tried to get his outer self to say thank you, but that wasn't what came out. But Maya couldn't help but to smile. He snuck onto the train that Maya boarded, and followed her. After the trained turned out to be a trap set up by Handsome Jack, and exploded. Krieg managed to survive along with the others.

After Jack's death, and Hyperion's defeat, Maya helped him regain some sanity through meditation. The two personas came to another understanding. The outer persona would remain in control for the most part, but the inner persona would get control every once in awhile to 'stretch his legs out'. Eventually he and Maya grew closer, and struck up a relationship.
