The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 5 authors
Watching Tameru suddenly shout at the poor girl, Kasabian held his hand out in front of him and created a sphere out of ice and turned it in to a snowball. He threw it, hitting Tameru in the back of the neck, leaving snow to fall down the back of his shirt. "Stop scaring the girl". He said, still with a blank expression. Kasabian, no longer caring about what just happened, turned to Athena. "Does he look as mad as I did earlier?".
Tameru feels the snow running down his back and he pulls out his sword and gives out a battle cry and starts swing the blade around randomly in the air as if he wasn't even trying to hit Kasabian.
As Miyu stood, thankful for the helpful hand, the two males in the group began fighting, the female not getting herself involved. Miyu looked at the male she ran into, now swinging his sword wildly at his shorter counterpart. Miyu watched how he swung his sword, it seemed to be inconsistent but had a specific pattern, he never hit his supposed target. I see, they're just playing, either way I believe... she stopped mid thought and silently walked around the taller male throwing her staff up to imbalance his sword throwing him a glare "It's rude to attack someone who has only gotten a bit of cold water on you."
Hearing Miyu, saying its rude to attack people who only get a bit of water on them, Kasabian thought to himself "She's just given me the all clear..". And by the time she had finished her sentence, another snowball came flying in her direction, hitting her in the back of the head. "Oops, I mean't to hit Tameru, sorry about that". He said scratching his head with a faint smile.
When Tameru was told not to attack Kasabian he fell to his knees and put a hand behind his head. "Sorry I was acting so foolish, I probably looked like a little kid back there. Thanks for calming me down" Tameru said with a big and innocent looking smile. Then all of a sudden a snowball hit the girl in the back of the head, and Tameru covered his mouth trying to conceal his laughter.
Miyu got up from the uncomfortable position and calmly placed her staff on the ground. She looked at Kasabian with a blank expression. She was not offended by what he had done but she had expected better of him. She then turned to Tameru and nodded. "Quite." She was not in the mood for a long winded speech to either if them. She did not enjoy the peak she had just suffered through but she did admire the skill of the one she believed was called Tameru. The speed of his sword was surprising, especially with the control he still commanded from it.
Tameru decided that it would be polite to get to know this girl since they had only just met and he was quite curious about her. "If you don't mind me asking, what is your name?" Tameru hoped that the girl would trust that he was trying to be friendly and not come off as an enemy to her.
Miyu looked up from her thoughts. "Miyu." She said shortly. She had never been interested in meeting people and this was no different. To her they were only impeding on time she could be using to figure out what her Mark meant.
Tameru saw that the girl seemed to be uninterested in revealing her name, but she did anyways. "Miyu, thats a beautiful name" Tameru said trying to make her comfortable around them. Tameru had noticed a mark on her neck and wondered if it was in fact a Deusetsu Mark, so he asked Miyu "that mark on your neck, do you mind if I ask what it is?"
Miyu gave Tameru a look of moderate interest. She thought up a story for it quickly. "I received this mark on my eighteenth birthday. It is a symbol of my maturity and growth from a child to an adult." she finished coolly, as if she had been asked it many times before. I highly doubt if I told them what I can do since the mark appeared they would even understand, let alone know what it means. She looked at the other two curiously, wondering why the girl hadn't spoken, and wondering what the other male was doing while her back was turned. After a moment of scanning them and believing they would not interrupt her again she turned back to Tameru for him to respond and eventually ask her another question about herself.
Tameru was surprised by her answer, but he knew that it might not have been a truth. "Have you heard of the strange mark that appeared on people a while ago? You see we three are bearers of that mark. It is a truly powerful mark" Tameru said hopefully peaking her interest about the mark.
Miyu looked at him interestedly "No I have not, however I would like to hear about this mark" she said. She tried to hide the true reasons for her excitement and made it seem as if she was only interested in learning about them and not learning about her 'mark' as well. She leaned on her staff, trying to look relaxed while she waited for the explanation and possible origin of her mark.
Tameru suddenly put on a serious face that would have absolutely scared a small child and caused an adult to flinch, "before the explosion that released these demons occurred I was gifted with a vision upon the touch of my mark. It was an angel of death that had contacted me mentally and told me that these marks are apparently rune markings from the underworld of different elements or powers that the demon lord himself used to strike down demons that have tried to escape his realm. Now apparently the marks were gifted to a large population of people around the world, and the people with these marks are meant to kill all of the scattered demons that have wandered across this world".
Miyu was surprised by the sudden change in attitude, but understood once he finished explaining. "So they give the person they are on special powers?" she asked. She knew what hers could do but she still didn't know if she should trust them knowing her mark was one of the special ones. "Do you know these things to be true?" she had a theory, and though she couldn't see it, she pulled up her staff quickly and began to jab it forward, using her first few jabs to dislodge the sword and try to push it away so that she could force him to use his physical ability instead.
Athena's thoughts turned brighter when Tameru had followed after them. Though she still felt the ache of guilt when she saw how angry he appeared to be.
Thoughts of Tameru disappeared when a girl about her age came colliding into him, startled, Athena jumped. From then on things just happened in a blur. The only information she could gather was Kasabian throwing snowballs, Tameru waving his sword around, and talk about marks. That's when they had Athena's full attention. Her eyes widened with Tameru's story about the origins of these peculiar tattoos. She looked down at her arm for a brief moment, hoping no one caught her gaze.
The last time she looked at the sky the sun had been setting. Now the faint light of stars could be seen though the cover of the clouds. "Guys I hate to interrupt this intriguing conversation, but we need to keep moving." She stated nervously, looking at the shadows of nearby alleyways.
When Miyu thrustet her staff straight at Tameru he quickly pulled out his blade and and engulfed it in flames without even realizing it. Somehow she was able to summon his ability using a surprise attack which was indeed very clever. Tameru pushed Miyu's staff away and said "well, it seems that that is my primary power, inflamed blade. Apparently people with these marks are also given a special ability that allows the mark bearer to use a great power. Of course I already know what my special is".
"My power is to create, control, and destroy ice. I guess my special is summoning my voulge, Kokushibyo. Black Death". Kasabian had only just processed what Athena said, as he had to try listening to three people at once. "Guys, Athena is right. We should go find somewhere safe for the night. If we keep on standing here rambling on about marks and power, they are going to come for us and we wont even see it coming". Kasabian was now worried about the fact that it was about to get pitch black. Staying out too late was dangerous on a normal day, but now the city was demon infested. He figured it wouldn't be long until there would be more demons lurking about.
Miyu looked at the girl when she spoke, she agreed with her but she didn't know where they could go to be safe, as far as Miyu knew no where in the city was safe and she had only stayed alive because she had used her marks power. They had shown her that they were telling the truth, that they could be trusted, so she decided if they did start moving she would try something she had never done before, she would try to keep them as silent as she could keep herself. "I believe that leaving the city would be best, there is a small forest near here we could hide in, away from the center of danger."
When Tameru heard Miyu suggest that they make there way to the forest and away from the center of the terror that arose from the ground, there was no way that he could disagree with her. "I think that it would be best to go to the forest like Miyu suggested, but we would have to go without light or else we would be attracting those beasts right to us giving them the upper hand" Tameru said giving Miyu a thumbs up after his statement.
Miyu looked back up at Tameru "Do you really think that light is the only true enemy here?" as she finished she slammed her foot onto the ground, however where it should have made a noise that could attract demons for a few hundred feet, it made not noise at all.
Watching Miyu and Tameru, Kasabian felt like there was a flaw in their conversation. It was like they had missed something. He stood there thinking for a second, and interrupted as Miyu finished her sentence. "Whilst your theory is all fair and well, your forgetting those things have noses, and are capable of smelling too". Kasabian wanted to suggest some way of covering their scent, but couldn't think of anything that could help them. "I can't think of any way to muffle our movement or block our scent from reaching them, but I do remember a small building in the forest we could go to. That is if you want to place your trust in my memories. I don't think it has bedrooms, but it should be big enough for us all to take shelter in". Kasabian struggled to remember all of the details, but he vaguely remembered that he used to hide out in an old looking dojo he found in the forest whilst hiding from his uncle as a child. "If we do go there though, we will need to pick up sleeping bags on the way.. or blankets..". Kasabian looked up, seeing the stars glistening in the sky. Time was short and they were still just standing there. It made him become slightly restless.
After a few awkward moments where he looked around for anyone watching after he picked himself up, he muttered to himself with no sense of irony; "Hmmmm now that was embarrassing. Especially for one as gifted and wonderful as myself. I must learn to somehow improve my already impeccable running skills."
He brushed off his expensive white suit and straightened his bow tie, before turning to see the motorcycle as he straightened his hair, as well as a demon corpse with the phrase written in blood; Tameru Oshigame, I'm Human. Reginald then put his hand on the motorcycles exhaust, and immediately wished he hadn't as he let out a yelp of pain from the burning heat.
"Still warm, and that blood hasn't dried up all that much. Looks like i found some poor lost souls in need of my expertise guidance.", Reginald announced to himself as he sucked on his fingers to try to cool them down.
And with that, Reginald began running through the streets again, blazing along until he noticed up ahead four strangers, two men and two women, most of them looking quite a bit younger than himself, and all seemed to be on friendly terms with each-other. At least, this was from what Reginald could tell, as he called out; "Greetings fellow survivors of the demon menace!", waving at the feverishly as he ran smack straight into a light-post, and slumped after the impact before collapsing backwards. He lay there stunned at the sudden stop for a few moments, surprised by a second mistake during a high speed running. Once again, Reginald would need to learn how to put on the brakes.
