Introduction
But it should not stay like this: someday a man known as Anselmo, who had just become a knight, wanted to prove his skill in a battle against the fiercest being of the world, to impress his fiance and become famous. Leaded by the naivity and foolishness of a young adult he walked out into the forest, and confronted a dragon with his sword alone. He never returned, and the people that knew him became infuriated at the dragons for what they had done, attacking them. Many lost their lives, and the few that returned told stories of blood-lusting beasts that had slaughtered them mercilessly. It was only a matter of time before more attacks were launched, and the humans attacked the dragons for a reason that they themselves were responsible for. And the dragons had to defend, killing their atackers and only confirming their beatal status in the human's eyes. It was only a matter of time before the king heard of the events, and sent out his army to attack the dragons, and this time the strongly armed and numerically superior human army succeeded in killing most of the dragons. Only few could escape thanks to their wings, which brought them out of the human's reach, at least for a while. The elder dragons decided to flee with their tribes, and what became known as the Great Dragon Exodus was thereby initiated. Hundreds of dragons which had lived peaceful lives before were suddenly attacked by humans, and as they too fled they joined the community of dragons which were on the run. In the end over ten thousand dragons were united under the Elder Dragon's orders. But where should they go?
There seemed to be no way out for the dragons, until one day one of them coincidentally found a large plateau hidden in a large valley which could only be accessed by air or through a secret mountain pass which until then was undiscovered by humans. Immediately the Elders held a vote, and decide in unison that this would be the place for them to stay at. Like this the Great Dragon Exodus ended.
It was about a hundred years later that things began to change. Dragons had become mythical creatures, the object of legends which characterised them as monstrous beings which could only be slain by the greatest heroes. But a small group of merchants which had been lost in the mountains accidentally found the mountain pass leading to the home of the dragons, which was called the Dragon Plateau by the dragons inhabitating it. They did not enter it, but later told stories about it. Although no one of them found the pass again it was now known that there was something out there...
Quickly various adventurers, merchants and travelers came to search for the pass. Some settlements appeared in the mountains, some even near the pass, but it remained unfound to the dragon's luck.
Soon, the elves, formerly also inhabitants of Earth which had suffered discrimination and attacks from the humans also appeared. With their great perception and magical abilities they found the pass, and joined the dragons on the plateau, swearing to keep the secret. Everything seemed to go well. This was not to stay like this though: the combined magical power radiation of elves and dragons caused many elven, draconic and human children from settlements near the Dragon Plateau to be born with a power known as The Link: from the first moment since their birth on a dragon and an elf or human would feel an attractive force towards each other, and they would not rest until they found the one they were linked to. It would mean the beginning of a new, never-seen friendship between Dragons and elves or humans, but it also endangered the Dragon's and elves' secrecy as the human children would find the mountain pass with ease thanks to their link towards a dragon, while the dragons would leave the plateau to find the human. And the consequences of the revelation of the dragon's existence to the public would be incalculable...
So, this is the story. Now for background information.
Places:
The Continent: Known as Atlan, it is a large continent somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. It has never been seen by humans from the outer world. Its evolution level is about as high as it is in Europe (medieval time), plus the many technologies created by magic power.
Dragon Plateau: Secret place hidden in the mountains of Atlan. Dragons and Elves are its main inhabitants, but there also are a few humans that have The Link towards a dragon, and have therefore managed to find the secret entry to the place.
Surroundings of Dragon Plateau: Dragon Plateau being located in the mountains, its surroundings are equal. The climate on Atlan being quite different from other continents, many places that otherwise would not exist on Earth can be found here. The mountains are inhabited by many humans in various settlements and villages.
Kingdom of Atlan: A single King rules the relatively small continent of Atlan. The territory under his control is the whole of Atlan, minus the mountains of and around Dragon Plateau.
Great Swamps: Located in the West of Dragon Plateau, somewhere in the mountains. Many Geysirs are here, which heated up the place and let gases escape from the ground. Most of it looks like a rocky and fissured plain, with unpredictable steam fountains erupting randomly, but there are large smelly swamps in the far west, where close to nothing lives. Generally the place is not inhabited by any race due to the great dangers that lurk here, and the minimal interest as nothing grows here which would be comestible.
Magma Plain: Located in the East of Dragon Plateau. Between the Magma Plain and Dragon Plateau many villages are built in the mountains because of the warm climate generated by the Magma Plain, but the Plain itself is not inhabited much. At some point the mountains suddenly drop away until the level is about 50 meters above the sea. The large plain that is there from that point on is the Magma Plain. Like in the Great Swamps, little grows here, and no one inhabitates it. Lots of small volcanoes, lava rivers and underground caverns, some of which are flooeded with magma, are found here. There is also a river flowing down the mountains, whose water gets converted to steam in the hot climate.
Northern Ice: Located in the North of Dragon Plateau, in the Pacific Ocean. Due to irregular winds and magnetic currents the North of Atlan is completely frozen up under thick layers of ice. The extreme cold outbalances the hot temperatures of Great Swamps and Magma Plain, making the mountains of and around Dragon Plateau inhabitable. The zone in-between the ice and the mountains is known as Oceanotopia, because it is flooded with water, but there are many paradisic tropical islands. Occasionally Dragons visit these islands, as no human lives between Dragon Plateau and Northern Ice.
Plains of Atlan: Located in the South of Dragon Plateau. The mountains between the Plains of Atlan and Dragon Plateau are the most inhabited places, as the south is where the people come from. The plains are gigantic and abundant with forests, grass, rivers, seas, caverns and hills, making it a great place to roam and visit. Many farms and agricultural sites which support the kingdom are also here. The Plains of Atlan are under the King's control.
Note to the Dragons: dragons that are mentioned to have wings have them by default. Others don't but you can add them if you want.

Water Dragon (serpentine dragon with legs. It can fly and swim alike)
The Link
Like explained, the Link is a special spiritual effect that applies to random humans and elves, and a number of dragons equal to the combined one of humans and elves. The Link means that the human/elf will feel an attractive force towards the dragon he/she is linked to, and vice versa. The Link's effects on Dragon and Human/Elf have not been fully researched yet, actually there is so much that it can hardly be researched.
Abilities that The Link gives include:
-telepathy (the two sides can talk with each other on any distance, and feel what the other feels. Strong Links also allow one to see through the other's eyes, and listen to their thoughts and memories)
-share of power (the dragon and the elf/human share their energy, which they can moe around in-between them as they wish. This also means that a human that normally can't use magic can use the one of his dragon, and they can even share the elements of magic, thus allowing a dragon that has a partner that can use fire magic, but he himself can not, to use fire magic by using his partner's power)
-Mind change (the two partners can pull out each other's soul, and drag it into their own body temporarily. The partner will lose consciousness for as long as his soul is not in his body, while the two souls will share a single body. If they act in unison, for example an elf wielding a sword with both his Dragon's and his own soul in himself, the force of the attack will be equal to the elves + the dragon's, making it extremely powerful.
-Wound sharing (extremely effective in battles, a partner can "give" the wounds that he/she/it suffers to the other. This means that if a human partner gets a deep wound on his/her chest, he/she cn choose to give it to his/her dragon partner if it accepts. The wound will be little more than a scratch for the dragon in most cases)
-Various other (there are many other abilities given to an elf/human and a Dragon linked together, some are unique to the two. You can choose to invent an ability of your own, and add it to this list or your character)
Mana and Magic power
Mana is a special energy that exists everywhere in the atmosphere just like oxygen. It is rarely noticed by living beings. Elves and Dragons are born with the ability to absorb Mana into their bodies though, and humans can acquire the ability through training. Absorbing Mana is the base needed to cast spells and use magical abilities in general.
If a being absorbs Mana into its body, it automatically gets converted to one of eight "magic elements", which are a part of the being's power. An average human can have up to two, average elves and dragons three. The eight elements are: Fire, Water, Ice, Earth, Nature, Energy (like Lightning, electric energy), Light and Darkness. There is also Neutral magic power, which one can create by supressing the process of conversion. Everyone that can absorb Mana can also use magic power.
Magic can be used for various purposes, such as everyday life and combat: with Fire magic one can for example create a small flame to light a fire, or a flame pillar that burns enemies. They can also be combined if one is strong enough.
Generally elves can use magic ery precisely, but with relatively small amounts, while dragons can use a lot at once, but with less precision. Humans have difficulty at both as they are not born with the ability to use magic power, but they too can reach the skill of elven magic if they try hard enough.

"Another one today, that makes two and a half, and it's not even afternoon yet... definitely a lot." Luckily he had been stopped, he didn't want to lose his mind again, and wake up with mutilated human and donkey corpses in front of himself.
He curled around a nearby tree and crushed it slightly while climbing it in circles. "Let the horse live", he still said loud enough for Elenhin to hear it. "If its mistress decides to run into her doom, it's not the animal's fault. And we need steeds at home, cause we can't carry all of you elves around."

he took a look from his high position, spotting some deers at a distance, and away from where Elenhin had described that the human and the horse were. Smiling, he jumped and began to hunt.

Now Tas still marveled that he was slowly edging his way from the capital, and towards the safety of the vast expanse of mountains, and forested areas. Tas gently checked wound that sapped his strength like no other. What he saw made his spirits a tad bit darker. At the center of the wound blood still seeped out, not enough to cause concern, but enough to cause a small blood stain to form on his shirt. Around the edges of it were a multitude of colors, generally in the purple, and blue areas. Not wanting to ponder on his wounds he silently pulled his shirt back down. Tas felt his face with his right hand, scabs had already formed on his knucles from a recent fight. He had only suffered a few bruises on his face. He counted two cuts, one on the bridge of his nose, the other on his lip.
Leaning forward, he drew his hood up, as he reached the top of another hill, making the forest seem much closer than normal.

After checking the corpses for possible illnesses, poison or anything that he might get problems from, he pulled them up a small hill and began to feast. But just as he had finished the first one, leaving nothing but parts of the skeleton which did not taste good, he capted a smell.
*A horse, again? Is that that girl that Elenhin was watching? No, the second smell is different... there is blood, and sweat!* The blood was disguising the fact that he had picked the smell of a human, more precisely the one of Tas, and he did not spend a thought about it as he picked up the second deer's corpse with his tail and rushed into the air towards the smell. *Perhaps I can still help who- or whatever was injured over there...*

He leaned forward resting his head against one of his hands. What was he doing? Heading to the mountains, on a whim? going off of dreams, compulsions, and halucinations. Though if he had any great shots at reaching safety, it would atleast be deep within the mountains. Search parties wouldn't dare to venture even a half of a mile into the mountains. Even if I am going insane, this is my best bet Tas's thoughts were interupted when he reached the top of yet again another hill.
Looking up he tensed up, as did his horse, for what he saw frightened them both equally. Barreling towards them over the horizon was a dragon. Tas silently hoped the dragon proved non-hostile. All he had on him was a dagger, and a few knives. On top of being wounded he wouldn't last long in a fight. Tas simply clutched his reins, and continued to urge his horse forward slowly while still keeping his hood up.

"Let's see what that hooded person was up to." She whispered into the horse's ear. She held little fear of the boy who had fought her earlier, as she had spent time as a mounted thief, and could shadow people and not be discovered even by outside parties. She follwed the trail the horse the man was riding had left. Even with little fear as she had, her thief instincts told her that a fight would simply give the game away, so the stayed on the other side of the horse's tracks, away from the forest.

He stopped in mid-air, slowly losing control on his body and starting to fall. "Ugh... resist it. RESIST IT!" But it was useless. He could not move his head anymore, his eyes were locked on the figure, and his thoughts were fading out, only leaving "Kill" and "Destroy".
He was far away enough not to hurt the human directly, but he would fly over. Shaking his head he deactivated his flight completely - one of the last things he could do - and roared as loud as he could, to do three things: first, he wanted to warn Elenhin. He did not want to hurt his friend, and if he roared he would surely understand and be prepared. Maybe he could even help him.
Second, he wanted to scare the human into fleeing, to avoid killing him or her. And third, he had roared in a way as to make the human's horse understand what he had shouted: "Flee!".
Moments later he fell into the forest below him, and mindlessly started to cause destruction. Since his frenziness could not be focused on a target - a human - it had to destroy anything nearby, which was as dangerous, if not even more, than focused frenziness. He used every part of his body without any kind of strategy or logic to break trees, rocks, the ground and anything else that was too nearby. The last thing his conscious mind could think was: "this will leave a terrible scar in the forest... can I ever forgive me?", before the frenzy state took over the very last part of his brain, and he turned into a monster completely.

Sighing Tas pulled his hood down, still sitting on one of the hills that dotted the plains. He looked up at the sky, angry at his inability to go back, and fight the soldiers. While at the same time he was miles away from safety, and a dragon was out there probably wanting to either 'A' scare Tas away, or 'B' kill him. Either way Tas was stuck in the middle of the great plains, stuck between a rock and a hard place. Tas rubbed the side of his head, ruffeling his black hair ever so slightly. Tas's breathing was forced, and labored. He simply was going to wait for the pain to subside before he got on the move again. He refused to give up. He had come too far to quit now. Dieing wasn't an option, hed needed to live, to get revenge on the ones who slaughtered his friend, and ruined his name.
Tas wouldn't hide forever, he would make them pay, he would make them all pay.

Once he arrived at the ravage field he took up his bow. Both his tatoos glowed and he pulled back. "Delta this will hurt you more then me." He said. Once he combined fire and lightning he could make a dragon sleep beneath his feet. He would use that energy to get Delta stopping his rampage. And his arrows where made by dragon scale, the only thing that could pierce another dragon's scale. "Good night." A purplish energy got out of the two arrow tips and he let fly. He didn't know if he hit the target but it made enough of a smoke on contact for him to know it did hit something.

"Are you alright, sir?" She asked calmly, her right ear staying alert for any sound of danger or approach.

"Are you alright, sir?" She asked calmly.
Tas paused, he slowly got to his feet supressing a groan as he rose to his feet. He awknowledged her with a steady gaze. "Relatively." Tas answered simply, as he walked up the side of the hill he was situated on until he reached the top to gaze at the commotion flickering through the forest. Tas made sure the full extent of his injuries were hidden. If one of the higher-ups ordered a man hunt on him, than a wounded lone traveler would seem very peculiar. Plus he wanted to remain as anti-social as possible. It would be likely if he were seen talking to anyone they would have something coming their way soon; however Tas reasoned to himself that they were in the middle of nowhere out of sight. Talking to a stranger would have little consequence.
Tas looked over his shoulder back at the woman. Favoring his left side he spoke again. "Thanks for asking." Tas said with no hints of sarcasm. His response was genuine.

"Don't thank me yet. Are you sure you're okay?" She asked, thinking that if he was badly injured, she might be able to catch his horse for him. It had probably slowed down by then.

"I'm well enough to move, and that ranks as okay in my book." Tas spoke calmly. His eyes drifted across the forest, the commotion seemed to have stopped almost completely. He would most likely set out soon. Running through the woods when the sun was down would be a bad move, Tas would probably try to set up camp near the base of the mountains, and wait for the rest of the day to burn away along with the night.
"I'll admit I'm a little banged up, but I'll live." Tas's words were those of truth. He wouldn't let anything get in his way. He would avenge his friend's death, he refused to live in fear serving the role as the hunted.
Setting

"Grr... gruuu..." He was struck by waves of sudden exhaust, his body was starting to sleep, and his consciousness drifted away. For a split second Delta could take over again, only to see the destruction that he had caused. His fear had been confirmed - although he had only been frenzy for a little while, a few minutes at most, what he had caused would take years to recover. And worse, whoever saw this would immediately know that it had not been a bear who had chopped down those trees, in other words this would be terrible for the safety of Dragon Plateau if humans found it. Then he fell asleep completely, lying down among the many dozens of square meters of destruction...

As he got closer to the top he flipped over it. "Hey you 2... go away. You see what you have done." Pointing to an open spot where the rampage was. "If any of you had business here then tell me it now... If you didn't then leave. We can't afford another rampage through the forest. And even I am getting tired of using my magic. Now leave." He sat down on the cliff's edge and sighed. Why were humans so meddly? He got his arrows back and stopped the carnage that Delta could have had.

"I won't need the horse where I'm going." Tas said quietly looking off into the distance, no longer looking at the woman. It was true he wouldn't need his horse, if he was going to hold up in the mountains than he wouldn't want to have to provide for an animal that wasn't even his. Tas's mind was clouded by another flicker of images. Pictures of dragons, and his deceased best friend tore their way through his mind. Tas rubbed the side of his head, and looked back at the woman, unsure of what to say next.

"I... don't know... I'll do whatever is needed if that can help me, but I can't do... anything now..." His consciousness was fading away even more, he barely could reply. "I'll... remember your offer..." he was able to say, then the rest of his mind got engulfed by the magic of Elenhin's arrows, and everything turned black.
In the plysical world his body was lying on the ground as if he had died, but one could hear his breathing if listening closely. It seemed like he was in a deep sleep, and somehow he actually was.

I guess that he will have one sooner or later, when the person linked with him is born (as far as that is possible according to my own rules...) and then his frenzy will go better. Atleast that's what I hope.
By the way, those who don't have The Link with anyone (such as my Delta) but want one can ask here. I'll leave it to you to decide who's with who...
Re: [OOC] Dragon Plateau
Oh, Rance! I was wondering, does Delta have the link? Because if he does . . . I feel really bad for him.
