Yuna

"The people and the friends that we have lost, or the dreams that have faded...never forget them."

0 · 514 views · located in Valhalla

a character in “Final Fantasy Valhalla”, as played by Everscale

Description

Image

Still very much a young girl, she has a pale complexion and a sweet face, framed by chin-length brown hair. Her eyes are heterochromatic - one blue, the other Al-Bhed green. She stands at five feet and three inches, and is hardly old enough to be called anything but a child.

Race: Half-human, Half Al-bhed
Age: 17

Personality

Yuna is, in essence, a very sweet and compassionate girl. She comes across as very naive and self-sacrificial - she would gladly die for the good of others, and her complete and utter willingness to give all of herself is probably her greatest weakness. She is very trusting and, at least outwardly, eternally optimistic. She refuses to show a sad face to anyone, and it can put a great deal of strain on her, trying to be happy absolutely all the time. She is affectionate and playful, if a bit quiet, and a bit shy. She can be awkward, but she is full of hope and faith, and though she may not be the strongest of fighters, her trust in her aeons and her companions is complete and unyielding.

History

Yuna was the daughter of an Al-bhed woman and Summoner Braska, who would someday become High Summoner. She aspired to become what her father was - a Summoner and a White Mage, a healer and a hope for Spira. She succeeded, and at the age of seventeen began her pilgrimage alongside a troop of Guardians, one of whom claimed to be from the ruined city of Zanarkand before it was destroyed. She journeyed alongside these friends, collected her aeons, fell in love with Tidus, the boy from Zanarkand. Along the way, she found her faith in Yevon shaken, and eventually, destroyed by the corruption of the priesthood and the terrible truth of the end of a Summoner's mission. She and her companions vowed to rid the world of Sin, without the aid of the Final Aeon. That is the last thing that Yuna remembered - she fell asleep aboard the airship, and when she woke she was plumeting through the sky. Here, on Valhalla.

So begins...

Yuna landed in a tumble of rod and skirt, crumpling into a remarkably undignified mound at the center of a pile of rubble. She lay there for a moment, wide-eyed and winded. What had happened? She remembered what had happened, at least vaguely – meeting Yunalesca, discovering the truth of the Summoner’s sacrifice, vowing to destroy Sin without the final aeon. Tidus had been- Tidus! Was he here?!

She sat bolt upright, staring around. To her this place looked a lot like the way she imagined ruins of Zanarkand… only more abandoned. No fiends, no fayths, no aeons, no guardians. She was alone here, a summoner without her protecters… and she was beginning to think, without Sin. Wherever the pyreflies had taken her, it was like nothing she had ever seen before. It was not Spira. There were no ruined cities this abandoned on Spira. Sin’s influence was too broad for any place to be truly abandoned.

Swallowing tightly, feeling terror grip her, Yuna scrambled to her feet and collected Nirvana. The rod felt comfortable in her hands, warm and friendly and familiar. She drew strength from its power. She could still feel her aeons there, though they were not summoned and so took no physical form. She could call them still, of that she was confident. They would protect her, if she needed it. Meanwhile she needed to find out where, if it was not Spira, this place was. That meant exploring. She could only hope that another might have been brought here, just as she had been. Perhaps there was someone else in this world who could explain to her what had happened.

Perhaps, if she was lucky, that other person would be friendly.

Running a hand nervously through her brown hair, straightening it and shaking out the rubble, she started away down the street. She watched the buildings as she walked by them, waiting for someone to move, something to stir. Surely she was not alone here. Even in death, Yuna had faith that she would never be alone, and she did not feel like she was dead.

Nevertheless, her hands shook as she brushed by the mouth of an alley, peering around in search of a perso- there! Someone was landing, dismissing a creature that looked a great deal like her own aeon, Bahamut. Was there another summoner here with her?

“Hello?!” she called out without thinking, approaching the woman. It did not occur to her that calling out to a stranger in a strange place may not be the best way to stay alive. She had faith in people – Auron had always said that she might have a little too much faith in people.

Fang Twirled her lance on instinct, body readying in a battle stance the second she heard footsteps. Was it an enemy? a friend? She hoped it was the latter. she would rather not fight the first sign of life she found. That was a one way ticket to extinction, she knew. She waited for the steps to approach.

Upon hearing a confused "Hello?' She lowered her staff, to allow a young looking woman to come into the light, and she set her lance on her back. There was no threat here. One look at this woman, and Fang saw that she had no murderous intent. Her posture sort of reminded her of Vanille, in some weird way.

"Hey there." She said, waving at her, motioning that it was okay to approach, and she walked a little towards her, bending over to examine her face. "Call me Fang."

She studied her some more, than offered her hand in a good-old-fashioned Pulse greeting, "I take it your exactly like me, and not from around these parts?" She asked out of curiosity. The more stories she learned, the more she might be able to guess whats going on, and that might be her way back to Pulse, to see what the mess was going on.

"So, want to talk while moving?" She asked, pointing at the building,

Genesis:

Genesis nodded to the warrior who named herself Lightning. She revealed that the Goddess was Etro, and it had indeed been her who had summoned him here. Genesis was not surprised, but it was nice to have confirmation of his beliefs. Etro, Minerva, many names for the same face. Genesis would not shirk his duty to the Goddess, and was sure he could discern what she wanted from him in this realm of Valhalla. He sat staring at the throne lost in thought, Lightning momentarily forgotten.

He turned at the sound of voices, and saw two more women had entered the room. One was a jovial, spear-weilding, warrior who seemed to already be acquainted with Lighting. The other one was named Yuna, and she appeared to be shy and unsure. They didn't seem to be hostile so Genesis did nothing and merely observed. Suddenly Lightning turned to him asking for an introduction. Genesis almost repeated the Loveless passage that he has already recited, for it summed up who he was. But this hard-eyed warrior seemed to want a name. Genesis made a flourish with his hand and a slight bow. "My name is Genesis Rhapsodos, it is a pleasure to meet you Lightning, Fang, and Yuna," he said nodding to each in turn.

Caius:

Caius saw a flash of movement up in the tower. "Here she comes, stay sharp. I am going on ahead, don't engage unless you have to." Two warning shots rained around them followed by Lightning's familiar challenge.
CAIUS BALLAD! You're not welcome here. Leave!
Her ultimatum was followed by four shots aimed perfectly between his eyes. Caius held out his hand and a sphere of grey burst outwards, stopping all time. Caius smiled, he was fond of using Etro's gifts to bring about her downfall. He walked casually around the bullets and jumped to the roof Lightning had just landed on. He glared at his nemesis as she was frozen. "Why can't you understand my pain?" She was helplessly frozen before him, but Caius couldn't attack without time resuming. Even if he could he would never resort to such underhanded tricks.

He walked past her and jumped up to the balcony she had just vacated. Caius scowled at the sight of Etro's throne, but quickly turned to evaluate the new arrivals. Two were female one with brown hair, and the other Caius recognized from his time traveling as Fang. She was dangerous. She had been strong enough to become Ragnarok and blast a hole in cocoon. What was more she was already a good comrade to Lightning, not a good sign. The third was yet another man dressed all in crimson, but this time it was leather. Caius thought the brown-haired woman and the crimson warrior looked unassuming, but looks can be deceiving. Caius supposed he was about to find out.

Caius let time resume its normal flow. He knew suddenly appearing on the balcony would likely garner him some hostility so he held up his arms, palms out, as a reassuring and non-threatening gesture. He hoped Lightning would take long enough figuring out what happened that he could say what he had come to say. "Ah I see some more new faces, don't worry my quarrel is not with you I mean you no harm. I simply come to beseech you to stop this mindless violence. This is not your fight, stand aside and no harm will come to you. Etro has imprisoned us here, is it so wrong for me to despise my jailer?"

Genesis:

Genesis listened to Lightning's explanation of the world with indifference. A slight problem, but it wouldn't change how he acted. He would merely do his best and hope that the Goddess smiled upon his actions. As Lightning jumped into action at the sight of intruders Genesis didn't move. He did not doubt Lightning's hatred for this Caius, but he preferred to see the hostility with his own eyes. Plus Lightning seemed more than capable. He watched Fang bolster Yuna's courage. Some part of him wanted to also pledge to protect the fragile woman, to play the hero. Yet that had passed, he was a monster and nothing would change that. All he could do was follow the will of the Goddess and hope for the best. Maybe one day...

All of a sudden a purple-haired man materialized from nowhere onto the balcony. Genesis reacted in the blink of an eye, stepping between the intruder and the throne. He held out his hand and his Rapier appeared as he had somehow knew it would. This world was indeed made for fighting. He pointed his weapon toward intruder, but made no move to attack. He waited to hear him out. Genesis deduced that this must be Caius. After listening to his plea Genesis shook his head gently never taking his eyes off his foe. "Just cause or not, I will not stand aside," he said in barely more than a whisper. He was a monster who could aspire to nothing more than destruction. Thankfully it seemed those talents could be of some use to the Goddess here.

Caius:

Caius frowned, this was not going well. The red-coated man had refused him, Fang wanted a fight, and the brown-haired girl didn't even say a word. It seemed Caius would find no reason here. He lowered his arms, scowling at Fang, but made no move to draw his weapon. "What makes you think defeating me will allow you to go home? The Goddess has summoned you here to serve her for all eternity." Well Caius had said what he had to say, if they would not see reason then they could be shown reason. He was about to beat a retreat to reunite with Auron and Vincent when the situation turned to chaos.

The silver-haired warrior suddenly appeared on the balcony. He moved toward the one called Genesis, but exchanged a flurry of blows with Fang. This new warrior was obviously powerful. Caius was at a loss for his actions. His main enemy was behind him, if he could separate Lightning from her comrades he might be able to subdue her quickly. "Thank you my friend," he said to the new arrival before turning and jumping off the balcony. That aught to turn everyone in the room against the silver-haired man. He appeared capable of stalling them.

This situation could hardly get more chaotic, but Caius was determined to press ahead. He saw that Lightning had begun to talk to his comrades, and he alighted on a nearby roof. He was interested in what they had to say so he didn't announce his presence yet.

Auron immediately was surprised by Vincent's actions as he attacked Lightning. Already Auron could see that violence was about to come to pass but he never expected Vincent to launch an attack so soon, yet Auron realized that fighting definitely could not be avoided. Before he took an aggressive stance he heard the shout of a very familiar voice. Could it be? Auron quickly looked towards the direction to voice orginated from and from his surprise the owner of the voice looks like....Yuna! No! Can it be!? Yuna!? Before Auron could react Caius came crashing down from the sky and created a huge blast of energy from the crater he recently imprinted in the city's streets. Auron quickly lept away from Lightning's position as he made a good distance away from her as he saw the blast flying straight for her. Such power...just who is this Caius? Auron thought as he slid across a sidewalk. Then he turned his attention back to the woman upon the balcony, without a doubt it looked like Yuna...So I'm not the only one then...I wonder. Auron thought as he also wondered if anyone else from his world made it, perhaps Tidus did, maybe Jecht?
