Description

Image

Name: Bahamut

Age: Unknown; theorized to be anywhere from 2,100 to 2,500, and still going stronger than ever.

Gender: Male

Height: (Standing on hind legs) 19'8"

Weight: 2.7 tons

Hair: Has various horns protruding from his head going backward

Eyes: Ivory

Clothes/Armor: Does not wear any clothing; overlapping scales create a rigid sort of natural armor.

Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Likes: Being alone, destroying what the denizens of the other countries and regions have worked so hard and long to build and preserve, devouring any sort of meat, his home in various ruins

Dislikes: The gods, people in general, working with others, being challenged, those who try to stop him from doing as he pleases.

Special Skills/Magic Abilities: Being a dragon, he has the ability of flight, is incredibly strong and agile, and breathes the flame known as Dragonfire. Is well versed in the uses of Ki and Mana. Has three different breath attacks: The normal dragonfire, a blue flame which incinerates much faster than normal fire and cannot be extinguished by normal means, and then a sort of acid breath which has extremely corrosive qualities.

Neither an ally of Avory or Venash, but his actions are universally considered evil.

Personality

An ancient and massive dragon, he is in every right an ill-tempered, destructive, and overall malicious entity. While he isn't antisocial, when he doesn't want to talk or have anything to do with someone or something, he'll usually let them know; usually in a manner that can be fatal. He'll only consider working with others when they prove themselves worthy of being with him; however, once they lose their usefulness...

History

Ever since he was born, Bahamut was the epitome of the stereotypical bad dragon; ill-mannered, cruel, and full of malice. He has travelled far and wide? Claiming many homes and mates, growing stronger and wiser with each stop. Currently, he resides in the largest set of ruins in the Bestia region of Daughtris. Not much is known about him, since almost all who have seen him have met a fatal and horrible end. However, his life has been recorded in story books and formal history books. Pieced together excerpts go something like this...

"...A long time ago, longer than you and I have been around, a small dragon was born into the world, and his name was Bahamut. He was a devilish little rascal, always getting into trouble, but he was a curious child, just as you are. Now, Bahamut wanted to learn, even if it meant hurting others, which one should never do. But, learn he did; languages, the landscape, history, and even his own abilities. At a young age, he was learning a great deal, and eventually, after a few hundred years, he had learned everything he needed to know about our country of Daughtris. Eventually, he left Daughtris on a journey to other lands..."

"...Eventually, around 700 years of age, Bahamut returned, but no longer the kindred spirit of a dragon he once was. Now, he held the seed of evil in his heart, and he went seeked to destroy the things that once he held close. First, he rampaged through his very home, Bestia. There were no gods there, and the people's defenses were not enough since his attack came so fast. After a war of a hundred years, Bahamut had earned a name for himself, and turned Bestia into the ruins they are known for today. At first, he lingered in the ruins, cleaning out the lands of anything of worth and that he could eat. For 400 years, he remained in the ruins, until that fateful day..."

"...Bahamut came back from the destroyed lands of Bestia, and soon began attacking our own lands and people! At first, we were unsure of what to do. Bahamut came so fast and fiercely, he caught us off guard. But, with the help of the gods and the goddesses, we were able to fight back! United together, gods and countries, with the Avory royalty at the lead, we fought against Bahamut valiently! However, there were supporters of the evil dragon, and a war soon started, with the dragon leading the offensive. From lands to lands, we fought long and hard, for hundreds of years! Many heroes were made, while noble kings, princes, and warriors made sacrifices. Eventually, we had Bahamut cornered, when..."

"...Soon, the beast lashed out and destroyed the armies with powers we had never seen. The royals, the remainders of the armys, and the gods themselves fought back. If it were not for the gods, Daughtris would've been lost. Bahamut's offense soon turned to defense as the battle soon became one-sided. Driven back to Bestia, the beast retreated, but the goddess of light, Hikari, pursued, knowing that she alone had to be the one to seal the behemoth. In a final battle, her siblings at her side, Hikari was able to deal a massive blow to Bahamut and bring it down, though not kill it. Instead of finishing it off, she built a seal on the islands of Bestia to keep Bahamut in..."

"...Ever since, our lands have been restored, and Bahamut fell into myth once more. No one really knows what happened to him, but we do know this: He is gone, thanks to the gods. Now, be sure to behave, or else Bahamut may come eat you up in your sleep!!"

So begins...

Rixator saw what was happening as the attacks landed, and now he took action. With a simple step, he was off, a dark blur that could only be registered for a split second to the untrained eye. Without the weights, his Ki assisted speed and agility were at an inhuman level, and he knew just how to utilize this. Speeding forward and around, he began his movements while summoning up sands in great amounts, forming length-wise before turning to a chain sort of material, the sands compacted and hardened just as before with the sand drill. Moving along different lines around the others and the rampaging Garen, he worked the sand chains in a complex manner, seeming to go in random lines and such. However, upon a bird's-eye view of it, he was forming a pattern; a crest to be presice. After a moment he soon stood in front of Garen, hands together with the end of the chain clutched between them. "Ancestral desert winds and great sands of the noir, grant me the strength to bring down this foe!" He muttered before shouting. "Everyone, braces yourselves!!" With that warning, Rixator finished his mark by staking down the end of the chain. "Dark Art of the Sands! Devouring Enboundment!" The chains began to rattle and soon erupted upward. If successful, they would not only bind down Garen, but also possibly cancel out the lightning since this particular trapping technique had the ability of consuming energies.

...

--2 Hours Earlier--

As a warm breeze blew and the sun's rays finally seeped in through the shattered stained-glass windows, a pair of ivory eyes opened in the shadows at the farthest corner of the ruined cathedral. A massive figure shifted and soon stood on four legs, stepping out toward the southward facing hole from which the beast entered and exited its home. Its scales could be seen through as the colors of the lights seemed to dance. Moving into the sunlight, Bahamut stood on his hind legs and stretched out a bit. The immense dragon turned and moved amongst the ruins of what was once a magnificent city, his eyes glancing to the castle ruins in the distance. Today was the day he'd begin his destruction of Daughtris, whether those infernal gods liked it or not.

After finding the run he had used for getting a running start on fast paced, long distance travel, he stood at the end and faced the cliff. The point from which Bahamut would leap and become airborne was a cliff side at the coastal line. It was not a slant or steep side; it was a sheer rock wall that ran perpendicular to the crashing waters below. With a bellowing roar that shook what one could assume was once farmland, the mighty dragon sprinted forward, at the edge in no time and soon in the skies. His first destination was the major cities and such of the country/region called Clearwood. A forest land. Perfect to start off strong with his path of destruction.

...

--Present time--

By now, Bahamut was well into Clearwood territory, and was already burning down portions of the mighty forests with his Dragon Fire. Internally, he was laughing at the misfortune he was causing many people and creatures, but he was too focused to give any thought to how hilariously futile the struggles of these people were. The dragon had sources and had even scouted some of these lands himself, and he knew now he was fast approaching Amara, a major town in Clearwood. In the distance, a little ways away from the town was some sort of massive, metal abomination. Airships they were called. Petty creatures desiring to rule the skies as dragons, harpies, griffons, and other flying creatures do. With another bellowing roar that traveled and echoed for miles, Bahamut heralded his own approach with his unmistakable call. The beast that was supposedly just a myth was here. Very real. Very large. And very, very dangerous

Mitei looked up smelling smoke and hearing screams and saw her nightmare, Bahamut. She put two fingers between her eyebrows, "You have got to be kidding..." she said as se thought for a second, 'If I use Judgement Bolt and Megaflare on him he might actually be beaten.' she thought as Rieko putrified Garen after ridig on his back (which was terrifying for her), Mitei prepared for Bahamut to be in her range for an attack ((Charging))

CHAPTER 5

Bella turned her head back upon hearing a roar from the faraway skies

"What was that?" Bella's heart jumped "Did you hear that?!" she asked Gabe, shouting, so that he could hear her.

Gabe's wounds are still in the process of healing. He was holding his shield forward, still blocking Garen's attack from harming Bella "hear what?" Suddenly Garen's fire became stronger. Gritting his teeth, Gabe started to push harder so that the fire won't pass through.

Then the nightmare appeared, Bahamut, the legendary dragon. It's gigantic wings blocking the sun light from shining down on them, drawing people to look up by curiosity. Gabe was stunned at the sight. His mouth fell open but no words came out. He only heard stories and seen drawing of the being from story books when he was a small child... but now... he is seeing it with his own eyes. Gabe wasted no time and cast the most powerful magic barrier that he can conjure.

"I summon the Valkyries, Shield-wielding Sisters of Battle! Protect us from harm!" Gabe shouted and 6 Valkyries spirits appeared, aligning themselves, creating a Hexagon sigil barrier.

Gabe grabbed Bella's arm and shouted "Lets run!"

Bella was shocked. Gabe pulled her and they both ran to the woods, trying to get out of the Bahamut's sight.

Reiko noticed Garen being a brave idiot and challenging Bahamut and saw Mitei charge for an attack on him and knew she'll be needed, until she saw Bella and Gabe flee, "Where are you going?!" she yelled chasing them as Mitei noticed Garen's challenge and Bella and Gabe flee with Reiko chasing after them, "Time to go Drago-Boy!" She said as she ran forgetting she has Judgement Bolt charged. ((Flee))

Rixator heard the roar and glanced back to see what was going on, the chains halting for a brief moment. Then he saw it. The beast he hoped to never encounter in his life: Bahamut. The sight of the dragon put something into the mercernary he'd only felt once before...It felt like his gut was in a vice, his body becoming like a block of ice and his legs threatening to drop him at any given second. Fear. It was fear. He'd forgotten the feeling. The sand chains crumbled and buckled, fading into the winds as he backed away. His mind was cluttered and a mess, but his body acted on its own. And he retreated. No, he ran. Ran away. He soon found himself near Bella and Gabe, though he only glanced with his eyes; Rixator didn't dare to look over his shoulder, not even an inch.

-------

Bahamut was headed for that monstrous metal contraption when a familiar scent tickled his nostrils. It was faint, but then the roar confirmed it. There was another dragon here, but given the faintness of the smell and the timbre of the roar, he knew he had the advantage right off. Without hesitation, the evil dragon came crashing down on Amara, the sheer size difference of Bahamut to Garen now very apparent; much like a dog to a small caterpillar. Up close, Bahamut was a behemoth, and he knew it. Leaning down, he saw Garen standing his ground as more humans ran in fear. Wonderful! The dragon looked the smaller one directly in the eyes, speaking out in a low, gritty, and booming voice. "You would dare to challenge me, stripling? I could crush you like a human child would crush a bug..."

"And you listen to such petty human gods? Then you leave me no choice." He stood back a bit, getting to his hind legs where his full height was given. He towered over the rest of the forest, standing about 19'2" (for those of you who didn't read the character profile), glaring down at Garen. "So be it fool. I shall watch you rot with the rest of this place!" He roared loudly, the sheer power shaking the ground and the trees a bit. He fired off a blue flame to surround the two dragons, creating a sort of arena. It was now fight or flight, literally. The only ways out were to fly out of the ring and escape...Or die. "I'll give you this last chance, boy! Run now and join your friends as they run from true strength!! I am not normally one for mercy, but if anything, I pity you wyrmling. That's why I give you this choice." Bahamut raised his head, the acid breath building in his throat if the smaller dragon accepted the challenge. It would be suicide, even if Garen did get a few lucky shots in. "You're about a thousand years too late to think that you may even stand a chance against me!! Now I won't say it again! Leave!! I don't feel like wasting my time on such a fool!"

"It's the time" Arkantos skipped from roof to roof, reaching a considerable high place: he looked at the target: the crazed Garen that was rampaging.
He looked for any spots, unarmored to intoxicate the dragon with the powerful sleeper.
Arkantos was preaparing to lead the final leap to reach the scales, before a shadow covered the town.
A cloud? No,it was moving too fast: Arkantos moved his eyes up and saw another Dragon-kind above the town: Black scaled terrorizing.
Luckly he brought out the citizens! Arkantos moved the priority target to the new Dragon, seeing that Garen was taking conscience.
He ran down to his allies, trying to regroup.
Bella and gave was running and successively flying to the Airship: Arkantos looked at the beast lands, provoking a shockwave that trembled the building: Arkantos nearly fell down but in a matter of seconds he regained balance: he looked at the creature, big: he never saw something more bigger and fearful.
A ring of fire surrounded the dragons: the blue fire's heat stunned Arkantos for a while.
Paralyzed,Arkantos looked at the two creatures for few seconds before running back, attempting to plan a strategy: mathematically it was impossible to Garen to win the new creature.
Neither him: impossible, since he is an human.Plus the ring of fire was blocking him from reaching Garen: the best thing to do was to reach the Airship and plan an attack.

Arkantos ran toward the Airship, guided by nothing but casualty: Arkantos entered inside the massive fortress, hasting to reach the Princess.
He saw Bella not far from the entrance, followed by the brave Gabe.
"Garen....is trapped....with that behemoth!" Arkantos said, taking breath from the run: was it three or four hours of intense actions?
Hoping that the princess would plan a way to free the dragon Arkantos adjusted his swords and took some moments to recover peace in mind.
The Dragon was an important ally: losing it probably means losing the chance to convince the Gods.
Plus, who was the Dragon that trapped Garen!?
It could speak Arkanto's language fluently,in an advanced way also: the presence of the Behemoth simply breaks the standard rules of nature.

Drakthorn looked at the smiled filter inside the bricks of the tower: few seconds after,a woman approached to Drkathorn.

"Hello sir,can I help you?"

The woman said, smiling at Drakthorn: the spirit had an illumination: his right hand, under the clock, was open and holding something invisible like some nets to manipulate puppets.
"In truth...there is one thing I'd like to ask...."The voice of Drakthorn was trying to imitate the human's: it was somewhat some fail, some success.
"...Lord Gen son of Venash is inside the building?" Drakthorn said, while the gray slimes could be seen slipping out from the bricks.
Utilizing the lady as tool of espionage was Drakthorn's plan: the Slimes could easily enter in her body and consume her life-force and gather direct control.
After that, stealing the plans would be a child's game.
The slimes produced a reptilian sound, while jumping on the Receptionist (Dice roll: 10(Hit?)).

Meanwhile,Sylverana was reorganizing the Legion of the Maiden of Shadows: if she'd keep sending the same units the enemy could easily find the weak spots: thinking about improving her legion by making some variants was the only possibility to avoid this nasty situation.
She was walking up and down the throne room: after consuming another prisoner sent from Lightwake,Sylverana's mind was navigating in the fantasy to discover possible variants:
An undead dragon? No: killing a dragon was excessive....
Plus, she was thinking about expunging Demotia: first with the Ambassadors.
The Maiden ordered to two Brightshadow Strikers to accompany a Spirit adept at dealing with peace.
She looked atop the Pinnacle of her flying fortress, hoping to conquer Demotia and the help of the Demons-like.

Bahamut roared and expelled the acid breath onto the trees, plants, and people, sizzles and screams of pain and horror heard, all bringing Bahamut joy. Once Amara fell, the rest of Clearwood would soon follow. However, one thought crossed his mind. Once word got out, the children of Venash would be onto this area like flies to dung. Once Bahamut was done, though, he pondered where he'd go next. Maybe he'd pay the king of Avory a visit. For now though, the evil dragon brought his claws down as he rammed forward, moving his arms up and forward as he toppled the largest tree in the Amara forest area, swiftly setting it aflame without remorse. The destruction would go on, and Bahamut would relish in every bit of it.

-------

Rixator summoned up a personal sand cloudthat carried him up to the deck of the airship, dispersing the sands once he was close enough to land safely. Without anyone questioning it or not, he shouted for the anchor to be raised. Once everyone was on, he wanted them away from Amara. For once, he wished he was back home. With Sensei and his insectoid friend, Lithrell. He wished he could just go to sleep and escape from the trouble. No more, though. He could face anything, but fear and Bahamut were two of his hardest challenges yet...

As Bahamut released the acid onto the defenseless Amara Mitei noticed it and sent Judgment Bolt to Bahamut and used Gale Winds surrounding the party knowing that she and the others around her will be protected from the dangerous acid, both Mitei and Reiko heard the screams and were horrifying she saw as the beast flew away before Judgment Bolt got within 10 meters of him. Reiko looked up to see where he was heading, Southeast. Reiko looked down at Mitei petrified, "Mitei, we have a huge problem." She said as Mitei looked at Reiko, "Bahamut is heading southeast." Hearing this Mitei sprinted to Bella and Gabe, "We have major issues." She said urgently as Reiko followed behind Mitei.

"The Goddess of Light herself...how can I serve you" Arkantos muttered leaning against a wall.
Garen returned on the Air ship, just when Arkantos finished the sentence.
He looked down: few seconds ago it was burning,an agony that struck Arkantos's heart.Where he grew was burning in acid and fire: the spear of the Goddess rejuvenated the lands and healed the wounded in a matter of seconds: Arkantos felt grateful toward the Goddess: but the Dragon's rampage must stop, else the King's trooper would have a bad time at stopping the Dragon from turning to ashes the Outher Clearwood, home of Arkantos's adoptive parents.
Arkantos's eyes were looking at the creature preparing to fly toward Avory.
"We have to stop it...." Arkantos said, looking down where once the creature was standing.
"Ideas?" Arkantos asked slowly turning his head toward Hikari,Bella, and Gabe.
He'd do everything to save Clearwood way more than the rest of Daughtris.
Arkantos was full of doubts: perhaps they could utilize Garen as foe against the Dragon and then harass the behemoth with all the firepower they had.
Arkantos had an headache,in thinking how to defeat the foe: he did his job,now it's the turn of the Goddess of Light to find a way to defeat the Dragon.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-
"How...unpleasent" Drakthorn said, looking at the slime that failed to attack the receptionist. His right hand slowly formed a fist and the slime melt down, releasing an evident black orb.
After a few seconds the Orb dissipated, and Drakthorn looked at the Lady."Perhaps It would be a good idea to don't judge persons from the aspect...." Drakthorn said, rising his head toward the Receptionist: two spheres came out when the woman's wing sprouted and they were releasing a soft blue light.
"Madame, the attempt failed...." Drakthorn said to Sylverana that was sitting on her throne: thanks to a mirror attached inside Drakthorn's helm,Sylverana could see and speak with Drakthorn with Telekinetic.
"Hmpf....not your fault, but the slimes....was hoping to put hands on Gen's plans...do whatever you think right: kill her or run to Demotia" Sylverana said at the mirror in front of her.
Time was short: plus in a matter of seconds he'd be overwhelmed by Spheres and other attacking units.
"I don't have time for games..." Drakthorn said, while his hands gathering mana: after few seconds few winds were running through the desolated ways of Pruwas, reaching and running around Drakthorn. The winds were endarkened by unknown forces: Drakthorn released the grip and the winds blowed a shockwave all around Drakthorn: the gathering of energy was obvious, aswell as the focusing of it (Charging).
"Faster Drakthorn...." Sylverana said, noticing the attack Drakthorn was attempting.
"I said the plans, not blow away Pruwas..." Sylverana said, while looking surprised by Drakthorn's destructive forces.
Drakthorn's wind were released flying away (Charge canceled),to then return and cover him."So be it" The winds returned and attacked Drakthorn, while his body was dissolving in the thin air, returning to the Fortress.
(Well,i utilize a website for diceroll ;D.(Now,when Drakthorn pushed and recalled the winds,he did pushed in and out something: I'm going to roll for the intensity >7: Deals average damage and stops charging <7: Doesn't deal damage and stops only one charge)*5th Symphony*DICE ROLL:.....Next episode Nawr joking.DICE ROLL: 8))

Rixator rubbed the back of his neck, his hands still shaking a bit from the sheer adrenaline and fear that had gripped his body. Listening to Hikari, the goddess of light herself, he agreed that they would need more power to take down Bahamut. That beast was insanely big, and Rixator read that it's power was so great that a god fighting the dragon alone would most likely fall. Either way, he had to recover. Using the massive amounts of Mana he did, he was feeling kind of tired; with Ki, he could go on for days. With Mana, not so much. "I'm feeling...Kind drained from that fight...I'm gonna go rest..." He muttered allowed as he sluggishly made his way back to the quarters he was assigned.

----------

Bahamut flapped his mighty wings as he moved on from Amara. The dragon had retreated, and after taking off, he glanced back to see the goddess of light restoring the land. The dragon growled before turning his head and resuming his course of flight. He'd deal with that pesky Hikari later. First to do, though, was to exact his revenge on the Avory royals for doing what they and the gods did to him a thousand years ago. To be sealed on those islands of ruins only served to anger Bahamut and plant a seed of a grudge, but it gave him the ability to do something they never should've allowed him to do. Plan. Concoct a plan of what to do once he was freed. And now that he was out, it was time for revenge and destruction. "I have waited for this day...For too long!!" The dragon roared his words as he picked up speed and went for the border, casting fire to the landscape as he passed.

Bahamut roared as he scanned the area, flying right toward and soon to be over the border from Clearwood to Avory. The old watch towers for the border were still standing from the last attack he made, and one was directly in his route of flight. Swaying to the right, the evil dragon whipped his tail behind him and leveled the tower in seconds. The gods would have to wait; the Avory royals had to pay their dues, for they were just as much at fault for sealing him to the Bestian islands as the gods themselves were. Lighting fire to the landscape as he flew, the figure of the castle and the metropolis came into view. Perfect. The dragon roared out to herald his approach, landing on his hind legs a short distance away. He cleared his throat before shouting in a bellowing roar. "Listen up worms, because I won't repeat myself!! Surrender now, hand over the king and queen, and I might consider not burning your precious city to the ground!!" He was speaking the language that any Avorian would understand fluently. He was well-versed in the various tongues and dialects of Daughtris, having learned the languages completely at such a young age. But, in regards to the royals, though he wanted to have the joy of crushing them under his claws, he had an idea; if he could take them, or at least one, the dragon could have a bargaining chip in case he were to ever decide to use one of Venash's children for his own schemes.

----------------

Rixator got a rather rude awakening when he was called to meet at the take off area. Take off area? For an airship? The mercernary groaned and shook his head, his hood, wrap-around cowl, and bandanna were down, but thankfully, no one could see him. "...All this technology to build something like this...And they can't make some sort of waking up alarm system...Yeesh..." The desert-goer muttered as he got his facial features fully concealed, heading out groggily. Turns out this time he was one of the last to get there, so he held back for the most part, trying his damnedest not to fall asleep.

The roar from Bahamut was heard all over Avory metropolis. Judan and Xandra, quickly rushed to one of the castle's porch. When they got there, they saw a gigantic black dragon. It's size was enormous enough to shadow hundreds blocks of buildings of the metropolis and instill fear in everyone.

Xandra looked at Judan "is.. is that.. is that the Bahamut...?" she stuttered from the fear

"I think it is..." Judan said to Xandra while looking up at the massive creature

"didn't your father, the late king of Avory, sealed it in Bestia with the help of the god of light?!" she was starting to panic.

Judan held Xandra with his right hand, trying to calm her "calm down, Xandra... I don't know how it escaped but we need the gods help more then ever now..."

"What are we going to do?!" Xandra questioned

"guards!" Judan called. After a moment, a young knight came and kneeled down before him. Judan started to give him orders with a quick but confident voice "send word to everyone that can cast any barrier to cover the metropolis! we need to work together to shield Avory! This isn't a normal dragon! It's the legendary Bahamut! We need to keep him away from destroying the city"

The guards quickly sent messages to everyone regarding the Bahamut with the help of communication machines. In time, Every magician that can cast powerful barriers and engineers with machines that can create magical powerful barriers started to work. The magicians worked together to cast layers and layers of barriers while the engineer's machines generated their own magic barrier by using the powers of energy stones. Slowly, thousand of half transparent pink barrier started to cover Avory. Everyone can only hope that they generate the barriers quick enough before the dragon starts to notice what they are doing. Bahamut was sealed away for a long time in an isolated ruined island. Everyone can only hope that the Bahamut doesn't know what the people today is able to do.

Xandra was held by Judan. Worried, she looked at Judan in silent before starting to speak "We can't hold on this way forever, Judan. The people will get exhausted by using to much mana and the energy stones will eventually run out of power..."

Judan turned to look at Xandra "we can only hope that Bella, Gabe, and the people helping them, are quick enough in finding the gods"

Xandra nodded at Judan and turned to look up at the Bahamut in worry and silent.

Rixator yawned once before hopping in the rear, hanging back and holding on, watching as they took off and moved for what was to be a waterfall. Rixator, being from the desert, wasn't exactly fond of humid areas; it's not so much the moisture itself, it's just it made him feel uncomforably damp. As he watched the landscape pass, his mind drifted away, back into those long hidden memories...Back into the past.

"Sensei...All this green on this wooden log...What is it?" The boy had matured a bit, as had the small insectoid creature. Actually, it wasn't that small anymore. It was near his height, and it was a majestic looking creature, as far as desert insects go. A body similar to a praying Mantis, with gossamer wings, an actual mouth with teeth and mandibles, and a shimmering exoskeleton of various reds, greens, browns, and blacks, it was something to behold. The boy and his companion looked at there reflection in the smooth, mirror-like surface of the water before looking to the tropical fronds above. "That, Rixator, is a tree. We don't see them too often out here in the desert, save for around an oasis like this." The elderly, bearded man replied, tapping his cane on a mossy rock embedded in the fertile soil. "Such a small paradise like this has saved countless lives from dehydrating and dying from desert heat. They are rare and spread, but are something to see." Rixator and the bug both nodded to each other as they began to play about, the bearded teacher watching with a small, hidden smile.

Rixator was brought back to reality by Gabe. "Everyone out." The mercernary shifted and got out, looking around before looking up the waterfall. "Please tell me we're just going up that thing...Right?"

Bahamut arched a brow on his scaly head before realizing they were raising a barrier, grabbing a part of a rising part from an engineer's machine, leaning down and breathing down the blue flame to destroy the machine as the engineer fled. Once the barrier was up, he released a variety of attacks, physical and breath before glaring. It was a collective barrier, and it was tough. Then an idea came to Bahamut. Leaning in, the dragon began to speak. "Why do you do this? Loyalty? Protection? Love? Feh...All such useless ideals...You know I will be here when the barrier weakens and drop. Why resist and delay the inevitable? In fact...I have a proposition, people of Avory. Instead of listening to the fool who rules you, hand him over to me and return home. Go back to your families and homes, rest, live to see another day...Why resist me and incur my wrath..? Hand over the royalty, and I will leave your homes untouched. Hand over the king and queen, and your families will remain unharmed...Hand them over, and I shall leave your precious metropolis untouched. I'll give you a moment to decide...Drop the barrier and I shall take them and be on my way...Leave it up, however, and your fates shall be sealed..."

The casted barrier of the people of Avory seemed able to withstand the Bahamut's varieties of attacks. The engineers attempted to repair the barrier machines that the Bahamut had destroyed. Luckily, the energy stones aren't damaged.

Conversations started for the people of Avory. They contemplate on the the Bahamut's proposal. Some started to doubt the rulers, while some doubt the Bahamut's words. Loud whispers could be heard around Avory.

Judan was on top of the highest tower of the castle. The tower where the God of Lights spirit was joined with Bella 12 years ago. He had asked the queen to rest in the bed chambers while he continues to observe and guide the people of Avory.

Judan started to cast a spell "Nine spirits of air and wind. Spread my words. Blow forth. Voice of Emperor". The wind blew around the king before spreading. Judan spoke "People of Avory" loud but clear echo of his words could be heard everywhere around Avory's region. Even the towns and villages outside of the metropolis can hear it.

"Do not be fooled by the Bahamut's lies... It is a creature of pure evil... It's legend is written in history... It turned it's home, Bestia, to ruins... and now it seeks to destroy Avory... Defend your families and homes... protect yourselves..." The king said nothing for a moment. He breathe in and continued "Bella... my own daughter... the princess... is currently gathering all the Gods, to save us and Daughtris... be calm people... have patients... we shall have peace once more... if we just be patient and work together"

The king turned to a servant that was accompanying beside him. "Contact Gerard of Brunoma" the king ordered "we shall need him to supply us with more filled energy stones, barrier machines, and weapons to fend of this nightmare"

"And how long would that take, oh King of Avory? Months? Years?! You send your child to seek the gods and goddesses and for them to side for a lost cause. You go against Venash and his children, who very well may be here by the time your offspring completes her quest. Instead of listening to this fool who sealed me away with his own allies and left them for death, and allow me to remove this deceiver from your hands. Who know what he is really planning in that castle? For all you know, he may have had you use your time and energy to bring up this barrier to protect his own hide!!" Bahamut roared to the people of Avory, digging his claws into the ground as he went down on all fours for a moment. There was a pause as he felt very slight and faint vibrations in his nails. The soil was loose up top, but the thick lower layers transferred vibrations and such fairly well. Looking to the ground, he pondered what it was before he felt a few taps on his side, the rounds from the Behemoths simply bouncing off of the dragon's thick scales. It was ignored by the beast as he slammed his tail to the ground. Something was down there...But what? It was too faint, and probably too deep. But...Just to be safe. The dragon began to circle the barrier, keeping an eye on the tower, though he was looking to the ground. Eventually, he found an exterior pipe to the sewers. Too small for him to even get a finger in, but if there was something in the sewers, he would kill it. Without hesitation, he exhaled fire into the pipes and let the sheer force and heat push it forward with whatever gases would help it spread. After a few seconds of exhaling, Bahamut turned his attention back to the Metropolis. "So, I will ask you all. Who will you side with...? A wise dragon who promises to leave your homes and people untouched, or a liar king who is only out to save himself?"

At that time Bahamut made its speech, Judan was on his way to the bed chambers where Xandra was. His roar was heard clear inside the castle. Judan looked out through the corridor hall's window. 'it seems that the creature doesn't know that his captor, my grandfather, has already pass away a long time ago' Judan thought. The creature was gigantic indeed. He can see it landing outside of the barriers protecting Avory metropolis and checking the ground. It seemed to have found and exterior pipe of the sewers underneath the metropolis. Suddenly the Bahamut did something no one had predicted. It breathe fire into the pipes. Judan eyes larges from fear.

"no..." Judan murmured.

Manhole covers flew up as blue and red flame rise from the hole of the sewers. The earth seemed to shake and cracked was produced by the force of the fire. The barrier was designed to protect attack from the sky but not from the ground. Some mana user lost balance, fell down, and stopped casting unintentionally, weakening the barriers a little. They quickly stood up once the fire has stopped and started to cast once more.

The king manage to held his balance. "I hope the suppliers make it..." The king said to himself while looking out the window, at the Bahamut.

The Bahamut then roared again "So, I will ask you all. Who will you side with...? A wise dragon who promises to leave your homes and people untouched, or a liar king who is only out to save himself?"

"Untouched?!" Judan was angered. He rise his hand forward and casted a spell "Nine spirits of air and wind. Spread my words. Blow forth. Voice of the Emperor!". Once again wind blew around him and went out the window and spread.

"You can see for yourselves, people of Avory metropolis. The dragon lies! His words says 'untouched' but he breathes fire into our sewers! Enchant our earth with mana and prevent more attacks from and on the ground!"

The mana user communicated with each other using their communicating devices (or telephones/cellphones) and strategies. 1/3 of the mana users enchanted the earth around the metropolis while the others continued to barrier the sky.

By now, Bahamut had flown into a bit of a rage; he knew when and where he was, but for some reason, the deep rooted hatred made him believe that the old king of Avory was still around. "So, you have chosen to resist me?! Then so be it! Ramos, king of Avory, you and your people shall meet their fate at my hands! I am Bahamut! I am the dark dragon! I am a destroyer of gods! GODS!!" The dragon roared and spread his wings to make himself seem even larger, standing on his hind legs. The dragon knew Ki based physical strikes would be pointless, and his breath attacks had been nulled. That left only one thing that could possibly damage and maybe shatter this barrier. Mana. Bahamut took a deep breath, narrowing his ivory eyes, and began shouting in a draconic tongue. Dragons too, had their own language and magic, and Bahamut had learned plenty over the years. "Origato nomenes svaust ornla relekihl wer darastrix kin kiwieg hesi skriiod. Janikup whedabra vur jennu ixen, cuigna coi shio! Shatter asta mekihlic vur svent shio svaust resist! Vucot wer loerchik di wer darastrix ixen!" Not every single word translated over, but it didn't matter. The dragon blew the blue flame onto one of his clawed hands, the dark magic envloping the hand with it. The energy mingled with the flames before conforimg and taking the shape of his claw. "Your doom awaits...Prepare for oblivion!" Bahamut struck the barrier firmly; if it didn't shatter a portion, it should weaken or crack it.

((Not sure if we're counting a dice roll on this one, but I got a 9 with a pair of six sided dice. It's no natural 20, but it'll work. >:3))

Markle was running along the corridor hall, panting a little

"King" he called to Judan "It's Gerard". Markle stopped to take a breather and continued "His team couldn't pass into the city because of the barriers blocking their way".

"Expand the barriers so that they are inside the barriers" Judan ordered

Markle quickly spoke into his communication device. Not long then the barriers started to broaden and no longer blocks Gerards team way. By this time, the King's men are already commanding the mana users for more fast and oriented attacks and defend.

(Dice roll for barrier defence; 7 ... 9 - 7 = 2 )

The trouble wasn't over. While the barrier expanded, Bahamut attempted to shatter the casted barriers. A couple layers of the barrier did shatter but not all. Avory is still safe. The mana users started to make over the shattered barrier but some have already reached their limit. Constant use of mana had drained causing them to fall unconscious. Half of the power of the energy stones that were powering the machines are also draining but it is still manageable. Some of the people of Avory metropolis was confused about the Bahamut calling the King of Avory, Ramos, but they were too shaken by the attack to pay too much attention to it.

"The Bahamut has started attacking. We need to drive it away so that it doesn't get through our barriers" Judan said to his general using the communication device "fire a dozen light element imbued shots from the metropolis cannons"

In parts of the metropolis, cannons on top of tall towers started to glow, gathering mana around it. Tiny lights seemed to be seeping into the cannon's tip making the light constantly brighter. It makes some noise as it vibrates and another exploding sound while a dozen of spherical bright white bullets was launched at the Bahamut. The bullets would combust giant bright light, stunning and burning through the Bahamut's scale if it made contact.
