Kaitlin Hamilton's Story

Kaitlin got off the bus and looked at Greenfield Academy. She was excited to be enrolled in a school that would not only allow her to earn her credits and graduate, but it would help her develop and control her powers, and maybe even her cheerleading career. Plus the band room would probably have access to a drum kit, since she couldn't exactly bring her own. She found out which room she was in, and went over to the dorms.

She carried her bags up the stairs in a burst of energy, and in her excitement she hadn't noticed which room she ran into, nor had she noticed the person standing in there. She ran flat into Cris' shoulder, and bounced off. She felt the floor and his shoulder before she felt the cold. Her teeth were rattling as she asked, "I-i-is this r-r-room 301-1-1?"

Chris smiled and said, "Oh come on, now. It can't be that cold." He turned and checked the thermometer, "Oh, 50 F....maybe it is that cold. Sorry." He turned and looked back at the second intruder of his room. She was pretty, with shoulder-length blonde hair, and a baby face. But she seemed new, so he pushed those thoughts aside. "No, this is 303. You're a few rooms down. 301 should be two rooms over." He then turned around and adjusted the thermostat to 75 F. He then opened his guitar case and pulled out his custom-handmade pure-white SX guitar, and began playing. It was a Three Days Grace song, he had forgotten which one. Chris hadn't noticed if the new girl had left yet or not.

Upon hearing another person entering the room, Boris looked up. A boy, obviously, older than him was watching him as he finished up writing his lastname in the wood. Shaking his finger a few times, he extinguished the flame. "The one and only! You must be...."Boris' smile turned into a frown when he didn't know the name of who he guessed was his roommate. He hadn't bothered looking at the name next to his on the room listings.
As he waited for the other boy to say his name he felt a chill crawl up his spine. He pulled his black jacket closer to his body.
"Brr,"Boris said as he seached for the room's thermostat. When he found it he walked over to it, and changed the temperature from 75 to 93 degrees, "That's better." He let go of his jacket, and returned back to his bed.

Adderyn sat up from the bed. I should probably get started on unpacking. Placing her suitcase on the bed, she unzipped it and pulled out clothes. As she organized her clothes she remembered her rommate. She scanned the room, spotting a girl she said,"Hello! I'm Adderyn Faber....but you can call me Ryn, everyone does." Her welsh accent got the best of her, all of her vowels elongated and her r's tapped.

Kaitlin closed her song binder, and placed it on her bed. Kaitlin thought to herself, "I better go and get my schedule, I don't want to forget where my classes are." As she got up, and was about to leave, she said to Ryn, " I'm going to go and get my schedule, be back in a few minutes." Kaitlin was walking down the hall when she saw a girl fall forwards onto the ground. "Are you alright," Kaitlin asked from a few feet away. Kaitlin walked up beside her and extended her arm to help her up. "Hi my name is Kaitlin Hamilton, and you are?"

"Thank you!" Sora replied to Kaitlin. "My name is..."
"Mega Klutz." Togame interrupted. "If you went to a contest for clumsiness, they would reject you, because of not accepting professionals."
"Shut up, Togame!" Sorra yelled. "Shut up, Togame!" Her younger cousin mockingly imitated her.

In frustration, Sora took Kaitlin's hand and started walking. Normally, she wouldn't do anything like that to a stranger, but in those few seconds she was very angry.

The anger was quickly replaced with her own nature. She looked at the blonde girl and said "Sorry for dragging you like that. One can't go and take the schedule without being mocked at, heh..." She chickled awkwardly. "I'm Sora Markovska, Im in 11th grade. Which grade are you?" She asked Kaitlyn.

A black and gauzy ribbon-like line was swooping around the hallway walls. It was growing and disappearing at the same time. Suddenly, the whole floor got pitch black. The blackness shattered in pieces, which violently started moving around the hallway, to the stairs and most likely - to the other floors.

Each of the pieces invaded the mind of every single living creature in the dorm building. It attacked their five senses, sped up the pulse and breathing of most of them, and started fighting with their psyche. Some could barely feel it, although they were affected enough to notice it.

"What was that?" Togame thought.

Others almost got a mental breakdown, as both their organs and mind state were struggling with darkness.

Sora collapsed on her knees, holding her head, screaming for help. Her thoughts were rushing and fighting, her heart was pounding. She went silent and started breathing heavily.

It affected each of them differently. However, everyone now knew something was wrong.
