Flash instantly felt like he was being put on the spot with all the questions. Tactics and the like weren't his specialty, that was usually Batman's thing, his role was to run fast and take down bad guys. "Uh, you know, we should probably just stick with Nadab only when he does one of those meetups with the other warlords. As for security detail..."
Skeets hovered over near the Flash, "If I may be so bold Mr. Flash, but I believe I may be of some assistance in that area. I've already done a few scans on our location, and taken the liberty of assessing which would be the most strategic points of defending the compound, according to the team's given abilities. Should the need for it ever arise for it, of course!"
The robot then brought up a bird's eye view image of the compound, complete with blinking lights.
"Cool, we can just go off this then!" Flash said, examining it carefully. "Alright, Booster and GL can take the this south-west area where the mountain ends for cover fire while MT and me can stay in the compound with Nadab!"
"Oh come on! Can't you at least tell me if the future is like Star Wars yet?" Genevieve asked curiously. "And I mean the old ones, like, the really, really old ones that came first!"
She had to remind herself that Booster was from the future, and that he probably didn't know what she was talking about, even with having a robot that had information on basically everything.
Flash
Wally paced around in boredom, wondering what to do about the ice queen and how to get her to talk. MT wasn't really his ideal conversational partner, but what other choice did he have? Booster was obviously uncomfortable around her, and Wally had years of working alongside Batman. It wouldn't hard, it just looked like it would be, he thought positively.
"Hey, MT? What kind of snacks do you like?"
"Hm, you know, funny thing about Star Wars," Booster mused, a contented smile on his face. "It's had, like, 15 different remakes by the time the 25th Century came around. Personally, my favorite reboot would be the 13th edition; I think the remakes done in 2348 really held true to the original spirit of the franchise. Of course, nothing beats the original original Star Wars movies."
The time traveler paused, blinking behind his mask. "Oh, right, sorry. You asked a question about the future...hm, well. I suppose the future is kinda like that...? It's...sorta hard to describe, really. And, I can't really get into specifics. There's sorta temporal prime directive that states that knowledge of the future can't be shared with people from the past, least we inadvertently alter history."
MT
The armored time-stopper glanced over at the fastest man alive, gazing at him through her visor. For a brief moment, she was at a loss for words. Out of everything he could have asked her, that was literally something she hadn't expected.
And to think, this man was their Team Leader....and a Founder of the Justice League, no less....
"....My favorite snack does not pertain to the mission." she replied at last, after gathering her wits.
"...Fifteen?" Genevieve repeated dumbly. "That's so cool! But I understand if the rules say you can't, even though it'd be awesome to see what the future Princess Leia looks like," she couldn't help but sound giddy the more she thought about it. Even seeing horrible reboots would be fun to watch.
"We got rules o' plenty in the Corps. too, and now I just have one last question: Have you ever went back in time just to see what it was like? Or just for shits and giggles?"
Flash
"But you forget that I'm the leader," Flash added. "And I can make it pertain to the mission if I want to!" He smiled at how witty he sounded, it was funny how caught off guard she sounded. At least, he was ninety-percent sure that she was.
"Now, as I was saying, what's your favorite snack? As the team leader you're required to tell me because you never know when this crucial information might be useful. Especially whenever we throw a Mission Accomplished party!"
"Well, I only traveled back in time the one time." Booster admitted, giving a slight shrug. "Haven't really gone back in time since I came to this century. Well...not counting any League missions that ended up involving time travel, of course. Hm, reminds me of the time I was on this one mission with Stargirl, Nightwing, and Shining Knight. It started out as a pretty routine breakup of a bank robbery...."
The time traveler trailed off, and gave Genevieve a well-meaning smile. "Ah, sorry about that. I tend to ramble, sometimes."
MT
.....
Truly, it astounded Matriarch Time that this...imbecile was apart of the Justice League, no less a Founding Member.
"Very well. I suppose my favorite snack would be a...Crunch bar. It is a candy bar made by the Nestle corporation." she divulged at last, hoping that he'd finally drop the matter.
Genevieve leaned in, eager to hear the story. She was disappointed when it was cut short, "No, it's okay. Big J. does that too when he's not lecturing Kyle and me. Like, a lot."
Skeets hovered around them, continually scanning the complex area.
"Anyway, Booster, what I'm saying is that it's cool with me if you wanna ramble. And if you ever need a hand to fix some time travelling shenanigans, then just call me Marty Mcfly!"
Flash
Flash smiled broadly at her, it was only a matter of time that he'd get Matriarch Time to crack. "I like chocolate too, especially the ones with bacon and marshmallows in them! It tastes even better than it sounds too," he said excitedly, hoping to get her to talk to him some more.
A dull explosion roared from somewhere in the lower levels of the complex. Fire and debris spat outward, causing some rock formations to crumble and fall.
"I have no idea who that is." Booster managed to keep a stony facade, before his face cracked into a grin. "Just kidding! Back to the Future is one of my favorite movie franchises. It got a really good revival in the 2390s, actually. Even got some good holographic actors to change their appearance matrix so they could do a remake of the first movie, with all the original actors! Well, in a sense, anyway."
The time-traveling hero was more than happy to elaborate, when a rumbling sensation traveled through their part of the base/mountain. Booster immediately cut himself off of that tangent, and turned to Skeets in alarm.
"Skeets! What was that? Minor earthquake? Explosion?"
MT
MT had a retort ready, but cut herself off when proximity alarms started to blare within her suit. Moments later, the section they were in violently shook, knocking light fixtures from the ceiling and even collapsing a wall.
Matriarch, however, avoided that mess. The moment her proximity alarms went off, she activated her powers, freezing time around her. She grabbed Flash and ran down the corridor, leading them away from where the worst of the damage could occur. Sixty seconds later, she placed Flash back onto his feet, as time resumed itself.
"My sensors indicate that a Mark 2 explosive device was detonated several levels below us." MT reported, all business now. "Considering all the external factors, I would postulate that we are under attack by an unknown enemy."
