She could already smell the ocean water, and couldn't help but grin at the thought of how much fun they were going to have. Checking her phone to see if she had any messages from her boyfriend Amy didn't even notice that the plane had landed. It wouldn't be the first time he didn't call or text her back, Blake was notorious for not talking to her for days at a time. The look of disappointment washed away from her features when it was time for her to get off the plane. She smiled at her friends then exited the terminal, all the while making sure she put on a pair of big sunglasses to shield her eyes from the sun. Walking out of the terminal she stopped and waited for her friends.
"Come on guys Rio is waiting for us!" She smiled at her friends and waited for them to catch up to her. There was a beautiful scarf in the window of a gift shop in the airport and Amy knew she had to get it. It was pink with a splash of white and blue polka dots on it. "I'll be right back!" She called back to her friends as she walked to the shop with her bright yellow suitcase. She grabbed the scarf and tried it on. "I'll take it!" She told the cashier and walked away with the scarf. "Isn't it pretty?!"
Smiling widely now, she could barely contain herself. "I can't wait to see what else Rio has to offer."

Amy's perky voice echoed throughout the terminal causing several people to turn around and look at her. Jonah shook his head and smirked. He watched as the brown haired girl walked away from the group, who was currently exiting the terminal, and wandered over towards a gift shop."Good lord, how is she so chipper already?" Ritz asked turning towards his group of friends and grinning. Planes weren't his favorite way of traveling due to his mild fear of heights, so landing had been a blessing.
Ritz turned his head towards the right and began examining the airport.Lots of young people around, so he assumed that now was a pretty busy time for Rio. He also noticed there were quite a bit of shifty and grody looking people about.
"Good friends, lets raise our hands in prayer and pray that during this trip none of us lose our kidneys and they don't get sold on the black market." He said in a quiet and joking tone towards the group, flashing them a goofy grin. In all honesty Ritz was happy about the trip. It gave him a chance to get away from his parents and he got time to spend with his friends, Charli in particular.
"Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrring!Brrrrrrrrrrrrring!" A rather loud ring seemed to be coming from Ritz's pants and he let out a sigh, already knowing it was either his mother or his sister texting him to ask if he had landed safely.Ritz stuck a tanned hand inside of his jeans and pulled out his Droid, scrolling through to find the new message.
Bridget. He figured it would be his sister.
"Did you get to the hotel yet? Are there tons of hot guys? SEND ME PICS !!!!<3"
Jonah shook his head, causing his beanie hat to shake back and forth and messing up his mahogany colored hair. He quickly began touching the scren to type back to his sister.
"No we haven't made it to the hotel. And yes OMG SO MANY HAWT GUYS , and yes that was sarcasm there brat. Do your homework or something, love ya."
Jonah quickly pressed the "send" button and then casually slipped his phone back into his shorts.
"So guys....what hotel are we staying at again?"

They were finally at Rio.
Seeing the place from above had confirmed in mind that it had been a great choice of destination: not only had it looked stunning but the pattern of the buildings and moon-shapes of the beaches had seemed to talk to him, smile at him almost. There were messages everywhere. He didn’t say that, though—he knew that people tended to find that sort of thing kind of weird. He didn’t mind.
“Hallelujah!” Victor said happily in response to Ritz, still looking around the terminal, trying to take every little thing in. Everything was heaving with life—already, even in the airport terminal with the rip-off gift-shops and rows of paperback books and McDonald’s coffee cups everywhere, there was something vibrant in the atmosphere.
He hefted his hand luggage over his back as they continued to walk. He had no idea about the hotel—he wasn’t an organised person in the least and his mind had a tendency to wander about details like that. Even the important ones.
“This is going to be the best trip,” he murmured, eyes still searching the area—Victor was most likely one of the calmer of the group but even he couldn’t shake off the wide grin on his face. His gaze flickered over the friends, taking them all in, though his gaze ducked away slightly when it came to Charli. Nonetheless, he was determined to only see this trip as an advantage: they could mend their friendship over the summer, he hoped, back to how it used to be.
Now, had they hired a car or were they taxiing? Not that it made any difference to Victor: he wasn’t supposed to drive.

He followed everyone through the airport, wondering where they were even going. Were they going to a rent-a-car place or just getting a bus or taxi. It didn't matter to Bryson though. He just wanted to get down to the beach and start off his summer great. He heard Jonah ask where they were staying, and he began to wonder himself. "I dunno Ritzy," he said. "We're straight out of high school though, so probably not some five star hotel. That's ok though, I don't plan on sleeping at all this trip." He began to jump in place and get hyped up, desperately wanting to get out of this airport.
((Gawd that was a bad intro. Sorry, I'll get better :P))

Now she walked with her friends in the airport, and it felt really good. Charli was currently trying to get her iPod and phone into her bag she'd kept with her, keeping an arm around her teddy bear she'd chosen to keep out, while keeping up with the group, and dodging other people. But she managed, and was pretty thankful when she did. It was a bit belated compared to when everyone else got excited, but now Charli was wearing a huge smile, because, well, they were in Rio!
With her one arm free again, and electronics in her bag safely, Charli too looked around at everyone to see how they were feeling about this finally happening. Her smile faded some though when her eyes landed on Victor, and as she looked away from him again she subconsciously put her free arm over her stomach. Was she going to just go ahead and tell him about her baby? Should she just tell everyone? No. What if they all overreacted or something? It'd just be better to keep it to herself for now. And when she actually had it...well, surprise.
"That is a very pretty scarf, Amy." she informed the girl happily. She was somewhat of a scarf enthusiast herself...okay she was more of a general accessory enthusiast. After saying that she gave a happy little sigh and looked over at Ritz because of his hotel question. Something about not knowing made her a little excited about the situation.
"I don't know either Ritz," she started, "but hopefully it's someplace remotely nice, and not someplace sleazy." she added and giggled almost inaudibly, once again wearing a big smile.

Rachel’s head shot up quickly, her ponytail now loose on the back of her head from the hours of sleep she had received on the long flight to Rio. Her face had been plastered against the window, and unknowingly, she had a red line across her cheek. She had already ranted earlier to whoever the hell’s idea it was to take a 6am flight, and even now after a bit of a nap, she didn’t feel any less groggy. But hey, they could legally drink here, right? Nothing a couple shots couldn’t fix. Or a freaking Starbucks, if they even had one here.
Fixing her hair and tying her dark hair back up tightly into another ponytail, Rach grabbed her suitcase that she was surprised even fit on the aircraft, and she dragged it behind her down the aisle and into the terminal. Amy was excited and chipper, as usual, and Rachel just grumbled under her breath a little as she followed. This party girl needed a little more caffeine before she could be on the same level of excitement as Amy. Which was odd, considering she was in a beautiful place, without her boyfriend. But meh, Rachel was actually thankful that Blake decided not to come. Seeing Amy and Blake together only made her feel more guilty, and now she could actually enjoy her vacation here in Rio without having to feel so awkward around her close friend.
Hearing everyone talking around her, it was clear there was some confusion. Was someone expected to be the leader, here? Certainly, it wasn’t Rach. If anything, she was probably the one person whose everyone’s parents were skeptical about sending their kids with on an international trip. But they had all planned this out together with their parents, so it wasn’t as if they didn’t know what they were getting themselves into. Rachel Freeman did not know Portuguese, nor was she here to learn the language. If anyone had any question as to why exactly she was here, they didn’t know her at all. But still, considering, she could at least read English, and the airport was well signed in smaller print under the larger Portuguese text.
“Ground transportation is this way, guys.” She finally smiled, almost devilishly as she pointed with her thumb to the left while her other hand still lugged around that large bag, along with her purse around her shoulder. Through the airport terminal, after clearing customs, they followed the passengers passed baggage claim, picking up bags if they needed to before they were brought outside where there were rental cars, taxis, and shuttles.
Almost immediately, Rachel felt the warm, humid air on her skin, and she stopped momentarily to take off her zip-up sweatshirt and tie it around her waist. “Someone look for the Copacabana hotel shuttle, it’s supposed to come by every half hour.” She spoke up to everyone, trying to provide them with at least some direction so they didn’t look like a bunch of lost teenagers; prey to anyone their parents warned them about.

"Oh my gosh we're actually here I can't believe it!" Everything was just as she had imagined it, bright, hot weather, clear skies, tourist everywhere, and the sweet aroma of some unknown treat? Not far from the group was a small sweet shop selling chocolately brigadeiros and Yumi made no attempts to overcome the temptation. Not even five minutes later she was eating away at her treat and brushing sprinkles off of her floral-print tank top. She certainly didn't need anymore caffeine in her system, but they were officially on vacation so who cared? Once they were able to get outside Yumi put on a pair of pink heart-shaped glasses and searched for their transportation.
"Oh I see it!" Luggage in hand, Ayumi stepped halfway out in the road to stop the shuttle from leaving them. She flashed the driver a smile and waved at him apologetically. It wasn't the best way to catch him, but hey it worked. She managed to squeeze into a seat, despite how much space her bags took up, and happily waited for the rest of her friends to board. They weren't staying anywhere fancy like you saw on TV, but she didn't really care. They were lucky enough to go on the trip at all, as long as there weren't roaches having parties in her bed she wouldn't complain. After some minutes of short travel the bus stopped infront of a five-story hotel-their final destination. Yumi got up and exited the shuttle, in a much less hectic manner than at the airport, and went inside. The lobby was nice, tropical plants everywhere, the scent of ocean water wafting through the air, and friendly staff-members with smiles on their faces.
"Hi there," Ayumi returned the woman's genial expression with a smile of her own," I have one standard room under Narukama." She handed the woman her ID and a pre-paid Visa card her parents were generous enough to supply her with for the trip. The female handed Ayumi two room keys and directed her towards the elevator. Satisfied she turned back to her friends. "Looks like we lucked up, we're on the fifth floor. There's two full-sized beds in the room so us girls will have to share, but that's okay right?" She held the other room key out in front of her," which of you wants this one?" As soon as they got the chance to put their stuff away Ayumi was going to throw on her swim suit and hit the beach.

"Nice!" She said to her friend as she got onto the shuttle. She was so excited to see the hotel and the beach. She knew where they were staying was not to fancy, but it was good enough for her. As long as she and her friends were happy she was happy. When they arrived at the hotel Amy giggled. "The first step in Rio, the hotel."
She stood up and got off the shuttle. She went in after Ayumi did and waited for her to check in. It was a good hotel and it didn't look to dirty or anything. It was perfect for Amy. She went up to the room and looked out the windows. "Well we girls will take the two beds. And you guys can have the, well you guys can talk about it amongst yourselves."
Amy smiled at the boys as she went into the bedroom. There were only two beds do she sat her handbag on the one closest to the balcony. "I'll share with Rachel!" Amy ran over to Rachel and grabbed her arm cheerfully. "I say we hit the beach!"

Soon enough, they all had debarked from the plane, things in tow, and were heading for the shuttle. Spencer took long casual strides, on hand in his pocket, the other holding the strap to his backpack while a duffel bag was slung over his opposite shoulder. Sporting pair of cargo shorts, a plain t-shirt and an unbuttoned plaid shirt atop that, he suddenly had the urge to remove the button up as the hot air and sun felt warm and caressed his skin. It was gorgeous outside. The sweet, salty, fresh smell of the ocean flooded his senses, while the light sea breeze offered a crisp feeling that eased the hot touch of the sun, if only a little. As they stepped outside on the platform where they would meet the shuttle, Spence unhooked his mirrored aviators from his shirt and placed them over his eyes as he took in the whole place, the atmosphere, the people, everything he could.
Habitually patting down his pocket, he retrieved and placed a cigarette between his lips, inhaling, exhaling, and relaxing until the shuttle arrived. He followed his friends on, snuffing out the cancer stick with his shoe before climbing into the nearest window seat he could. Spencer was surprisingly quiet, he was still in shock, still processing the amazing information that they were there. They were really there. This summer was going to be fucking amazing. Watching the trees and locals speed by past the shuttle window, soon enough the Copacabana Hotel was in his sights and a grin slipped back onto his face before opping out of their brief transportation and making their way to the check in desk. A quick ride on the elevator to the fifth floor and they were there. Spence only shook his head and chuckled as the girls scampered off and claimed their rooms. He wasn't picky, he simply tossed his bags in the corner of the room and only bothered to fish out his swim trunks, a towel, and the small pull-strings-to-shut bag that he'd pre-packed with a water bottle, and sun screen. Tossing his phone and wallet in said bag, he changed in a matter of seconds, and slung the towel over his shoulder.
"Move your asses! You're killing prime beach time!" Spence announced, leaning near the threshold of the door.

The Copacabana Hotel was beautiful, far much better than most of them were expecting, and Rachel was delighted to look around while the others checked them in. Like a kid, she had to touch everything; from the sculptures on the tables, to the pictures on the wall. What? Here they were, in a fucking international location, it was time to get crazy! Once in the girl's room, they quickly found that there were only two beds and they'd have to be sharing. Almost immediately, Rachel stepped toward Ayumi to share the bed with her, but good-ol' Amy jumped in and volunteered Rachel to sleep with her. Fucking beautiful.
"Are you sure, Amy? I'll probably be a drunken mess tonight. And I snore a lot. And kick." She lied, trying to talk the sweet girl out of it. But it was no use. She was stuck. Putting on a smile and hiding her disappointment of sharing a bed with the girl whose boyfriend she shared a bed with, Rachel finally set her bag down. So much for not making things awkward.
Once they were settled in and had their sleeping arrangeents picked out, Rachel quickly changed into her bikini, needing help from one of the girls to tie the string of her top behind her back. The only thing that covered her over that was a pair of jean shorts and a white tank top, and she snagged one of the hotel's towels from the bathroom. Her dark hair was still pulled up into that ponytail, and she just brushed her messy bangs to the side as she waited for everyone else. She could see Spencer across the hall, waiting as well, and she smiled as she walked over, trying to peek over his shoulder.
"You don't happen to have room for one more in there, do you?" She mumbled, hoping they magically had more beds in the guy's room. Butshe knew it must've sounded odd, not wanting to sleep with the girls, so Rachel smiled again, trying to play it off as a joke.
"Are we all getting ready for the fuckin' Miss American pageant, or what? Lezz' gooo!" Laughing, Rachel leaned up against the wall as they continued to wait. "Should we make bets on who will take the longest?" She suggested to Spencer to pass the time, her smile widening. "Let me see...I say Bryson. He's got that head of hair to maintain, afterall. No, wait! Maybe Charli. She's got to find her matching Batman flip flops." She was only teasing, still loud enough for any of them to hear.

"Definitely Bryson. That hair doesn't look like that in five minutes."Ritz said in a quiet joking tone, looking around to see if Bryson had heard him."Well I don't think I'm going to the beach sadly. I'm gonna go grab a bite to eat because that plane food sucked ass. Any takers?"
He slipped his hand into his jeans pocket and took out a wad of cash."I'm paying.....my cheap little friends" He said smirking and wagging his eyebrow while moving the cash up and down in his hand.He had took a little money from his college account, one he had access too when he had turned eighteen. He usually didn't pay for dinner, being a slight mooch at times so him saying he was planning on paying was a pretty rare thing.
"Hurry hurry my stomach is grumbling something awful!"

Glancing at her phone she noticed a missed call from Blake. Running to get her phone, she went out onto the balcony to call him back. She had a casual conversation with him about how the hotel and everything else looked. She even hinted around for him to come down, he denied her offer though. She. Hung up the pho e and walked back into the room. "Hey guys I'm going to head down!" Announcing her departure, Amy grabbed her beach bag and left the room. She didn't really care about her safety right now, who would really take her on the beach? Walking out she felt the hot sun tickle her skin. "One please." She handed some money to the person watching over the umbrellas. It was the one thing she had forgotten to bring. Amy sat under it and waited for her friends to arrive it didn't make sense for her to get more umbrellas and chairs, that ment less spending money. Amy threw on her big white sunglasses and began on her summer tan.

He moved into the bathroom once the other guys were done changing, since the girls decided to poke their heads into the room, letting the people out in the hallways get a full look at them. Bryson didn't care who saw him, but he guessed he'd probably get into some trouble if he was flashing the people walking down to the elevator. Before he got into the bathroom, he could hear all of them talking about how he'd take the longest because of his hair. Bryson poked his head out the doorway before changing and said, "All I hear is, 'man I'm so jealous of Bryson's sexy hair and face.'" He chuckled to himself and changed into his swimsuit and flip-flops. He couldn't wait to get out into the warm weather and jump into the salty ocean.
He began to do his hair, but then realized that everyone was making fun of him because of the time he took on it. "You know what..." he mumbled to himself. He threw the comb into the corner of the counter and messed up his hair. "Let's go children," he yelled and ran out into the hallway and moved down to the elevator.
When Bryson finally got down to the beach, he looked around for Amy who had already moved down to the beach. She wouldn't be too hard to find. They were in Brazil, so she was deffinately standing out against the majority dark people. He moved up behind her and grabbed her shoulders. "Amy! Come swim with me. You can tan later." He ran ahead torwards the ocean, ready to have a good time swimming in the ocean. That didn't happen too often.

You don't happen to have room for one more in there, do you?" Rach mumbled and Spence briefly chuckled, but before he could rightfully respond, Ritz beat him to the punch. "You always have a place by me my dear!Though I doubt you'll want to sleep next to me when I reek of tequila and rum." The other male joked, and Spence slipped on a playfully defensive face suddenly turning and looping his arms around Rachel's waist, before tugging her towards him. "No way Ritz. She asked me first." He exclaimed in a childish manner, lifting Rach off her feet and taking a step or two away from the other jokester before setting her back down.
"Are we all getting ready for the fuckin' Miss American pageant, or what? Lezz' gooo!" Laughing, Rachel leaned up against the wall as they continued to wait. "Should we make bets on who will take the longest?" - "Let me see...I say Bryson. He's got that head of hair to maintain, afterall. No, wait! Maybe Charli. She's got to find her matching Batman flip flops." - "Definitely Bryson. That hair doesn't look like that in five minutes."
"Five minutes and we're leaving without you!" Spence added before smirking at the girl's suggestion. He chuckled. Bryson and his hair. Charli and her flip flops. "Maybe Brys, but not Charizard (his nickname for Charli) she can be as late she wants, those bat man flip flops are freaking awesome. Almost as awesome as my bat man boxers." He grinned, before crossing his arms over his chest. "I'm putting my vote on Ayumi, just sayin'." He added last minute before Ritz decided to bail on the beach plans.
"Aw, c'mon Ritz. The one time you offer, dude, and I have to turn it down. The sandy beaches of Rio de Janeiro are calling my name. But you definitely owe me a drink later tonight." Spence answered, before checking his watch and puffing his cheeks dramatically. "Three minutes and counting!!" But the next thing he knew Bryson was walking by and heading to the elevator with Amy. "Jeezus, what the hell are we waiting for again?" He asked, turning to exit the room with Rach and Ritz.

She hoped it wasn't some perverted old man trying to hit on her. "Bryson!" She yelled at him as he ran away. Now she had to get him back for scaring her. Amy giggles and jumped up. She pulled off her skirt and sunglasses and ran down into the blue water. It was warm and felt good on her skin. She smirked and looked at Bryson. Pushing him under water she laughed. "Now we are even!" Amy laughed as she started to walk away. She got her dig in so she was done. Time to get her tan on.

From one of her bags she produced cans of hair spray and proceeded to further pollute the atmosphere. She tamed her locks and managed to wrestle her hair into one thick ponytail then sprayed it a few more times. Once she was done, choking but satisfied with her work, Yumi turned to the remainder of her friends and gave a cheesy smile. "See that wasn't so bad."
"I'm going straight to the beach and soaking up every ounce of sun that I can. I have some candy in my beach bag if that helps." She shrugged looking at Ritz and grinned, bending down to grab her favorite-also bright pink- sun hat off the bed. "Onto the beach!" She pointed dramatically towards the door and, after a small struggle to fit her hat through the narrow door frame, she skipped the elevator and charged down the steps instead.
Luckily, for innocent bystanders, her path to the beach was clear and she ran past the pool and out onto the hot sand. Up ahead she could already see Amy and Bryson enjoying themselves in the ocean. "Oh goodie!" She continued running until she actually got to the water, then slowed down and very cautiously went in until the water reached her waist. "This is as far as I'm going, I don't wanna mess my hair up!"

Before she could playfully turn down his offer, even if she’d probably be reeking of tequila and rum herself, she felt Spencer’s arm wrapping around her, pulling her in the opposite direction. Rach let out a little squeal from being so easily lifted off the ground, and she laughed when she was placed back down, but not before giving Spencer a little nudge. “Boys, please, please. You know I’m here to meet my future husband. And I’m afraid you would just get in the way of that.” She joked with a grin, but that grin slowly faded as Bryson and Amy had already left, leaving without them. What the hell were they waiting for, again?
“Well, shit, let’s go!” She nodded, just as Ayumi was walking out with them as well. Charli and Victor would be the last leaving the hotel. When they were dating, that used to be no surprise, but now…well, she wasn’t sure if she should be the ‘good friend’ and stay and wait for one of them, so it wasn’t so awkward for them. But like Spencer, the beach was calling to her, and she made her decision. “Race you guys to the elevator?” She suggested to Spencer and Ritz as they slowly started walking down the hall. “If I win, I get Spencer’s aviators for today. If one of you win, you get…a shot, on me.” She made the terms, seeing them as fair. Without even waiting for his agreement, Rachel leaned forward, “Ready, set,” In an instant, she was taking off before the last word, wishing she hadn’t been wearing freaking flip flops that slowed her down. But still, she clutched onto that towel as she ran, practically knocking over Ayumi on the way as she headed toward the stairs. With one final leap, Rachel jumped toward the elevator, landing flat on both of her feet to come to a stop. Out of breath, she had a big smile on her face. A smile of a winner. A cheating winner, but still a winner!
“Don’t worry, I couldn’t possibly look as hot as you do in them, but I’ll try to do them justice.” She agreed with that same proud smile to Spencer, hitting the elevator button behind her. She watched Ayumi take the stairs, and before she could decide to follow behind her, the elevator doors opened with perfect timing. Rachel waited for her prize as she backed into the elevator for the guys to follow if they decided not to take the stairs, and before she knew it, they were outside and the sun was beaming down so hotly. She’d have to hunt down whoever brought sunscreen; she wasn’t exactly the tannest one here.
As she walked toward the beach, she could already see their friends in the water, splashing about, minus Ayumi who was quick to only go as far as waist-deep. First, she laid down her towel next to the others she assumed were theirs, and then removed her tank top, then shorts to place right on top of towel, out of the sand. The water looked beautiful, and it definitely made it impossible to not want to get inside. “C’mon Ayumi, you can do better than that! We’ll fix up your hair nice and cute for tonight, I promised.” She teased with a wide green, slowly creeping in the water toward her friend. It was only a matter of time before one of the guys made Ayumi get in there.
