Time left here is lit at the "Tower of AI".

A very long time ago,
there were 2 Great Gods, the God of Death and the God of life.
They created the land and its people,
giving birth to the Nine Elements that gave the land power.

For a while, all was good..✱

Man grew arrogant, however, and the God of Death grew discontent. Gods could not interfere in human matters, but the Evil God had an idea - why not use a human vessel? Alas, any humans would soon perish under the full power of a God as their bodies could not handle the strain, and so they had an idea - a humanoid body designed to withstand the God’s full power. The God whispered ideas into the ears of Man, and they built an abomination in his name - they built a humanoid who could control the nine elements. The Gods grew displeased at the sight, and thus began a new, darker chapter in mankind’s history.

The Humans had been used - what they thought was the ultimate offering to the God was in fact an abomination that got possessed by the Evil God, creating what was a God on Earth. The God began to create calamities, and soon, the entire world was in chaos. Death and devastation wrought the earth, and it seemed the calamity would never end.

Ten humans offered themselves as allies to the Gods, in an effort to end the calamity. The Ten Gods gave them a portion of their power, with seals as their proof, and together they fought back the calamity. They also sired a ton of mages (more on that later) but anyway, with their leader - known as the Messiah - they pretty much drove the God into a corner, alongside the human abomination.

They chose to seal the abomination into a tower made with their powers. Together, they made the Blessed Light, and locked the God into the very top of the tower.

Things would not go so easily, however. In an effort to escape, the God placed his full power into the humanoid. With that power he broke the seal they had placed easily, and was on the verge of escaping when -

The humans offered themselves to the Gods. In return for the Gods inhabiting their bodies, they would gain absolute power, which they could use for the seal. However, as their bodies couldn't handle the strain, they would suffer until they died.

The Messiah, in his desperation, tried to extend their lives, but to his despair all he did was make things worse. With the Light given to him by his friends, he locked the God away at the extent of his own life force, and thus began the tradition of the Tower of AI.

To honor his friends, the First Messiah split his soul into two and created a clone of himself, one that would bring more Sacrifices into the tower. This is the Oracle, and every five hundred years he would search for new Sacrifices to power the seal. Desperate to stop the evil from rising again, the Oracle lied often, claiming that the Tower held blessings that would grant their wildest dreams. And it was in this way they were led like a sheep to slaughter to keep the world safe～.

Until five hundred years ago...
