Introduction

Welcome!
You are a student at Midtown High School correct? Good! Well let me explain to you the rules, it is in the rules for me to do so! You are going to be assigned a team, of which you will fight with. If you have a friend/group of friends that you wish to fight with you will fill that out on the application to fight. Then, after you have been assigned a team and you have all become acquainted with each other, you will fight with them! The rules are simple. You stay in the designated Arena, and watch the other fights when they are going on. To win a fight you must do one of the following: Kill/Incapacitate all of your enemies, Steal the enemies flag, or make your enemy surrender by way of attrition. If you win, you go on to the next level, if you don't..... well let's just hope you win. Good luck youngling, I hope to see you again!

Back Story

The games known as Power Struggle, have been going on for a very long time. No one knows how they started, or where, but just that they did. Every year almost every high school in the world holds a tournament. Any kid in the school can participate, but participation is dangerous and not many usually do. Most schools just hold the competitions in their gym or football field, but Midtown High School takes their Power Struggle very serious. They constructed several Arenas that model the Regional and National Power Struggles. In these Arenas high schoolers will fight, often to their deaths! Soon though, there is talk of a boycott of the Struggle. No one has ever boycotted the Struggle, so this is seen as mere heresy and rumors. But could it be true? Does it matter? For now fight! Win!

How the Struggle will work

Powers: When a person applies for the Struggle they are given a shot. This shot gives them a random super power whenever they enter the Arena. This power can be anything from X-Ray vision to Super Strength, and it almost always depends on the person's personality. So, when you are going to battle, I will assign you a random super power over PM. They will change with each battle you are in. I promise, they won't be crappy, but some of them might not be EXACTLY what you were hoping for.
Teams:The teams consist of three people each. If you have a friend that you want to be on a team with, tell me. Otherwise I will be randomly assigning people to teams, in the same PM that I assign your power. I will change your team name, if you can get a team majority to vote for it.
Tournament/Elimination:The tournament will be double elimination. So if your character "dies" the first time they will be revived by a faculty member. Then if they die a second time you and your team is out of the Tournament. However! If your team is eliminated and you DID NOT die in the last round of the tournament, another team may pick you up. They have to give up one of their own members if they already have 3 though. They can, either post to the Team Members OOC or PM me. There has to be a majority vote for a team member to be replaced. If you are kicked out of your team you may (1) Quit (2) Make a team of your own (A team must have at least 2 people in it)(3) Convince another team to take you. I will assign battles and time limits for each battle on the Rounds OOC, so keep watch. If at least three of your team members (unless your team only has two) show up at the designated time your team is disqualified.

What I Would Like to Happen

I would like for this to start with teenagers talking about doing the Struggle, then they sign up and we can begin fighting. After that I will post times and dates for battles, and you will battle! In between fighting you can post as if you were normal high schoolers discussing the daily gossip, but it has to do with the tournament. If someone stabbed you in the back, act like you would if they did in real life! I'd like for this to continue to Regional Struggles and then National, so if you don't get into this one don't worry there will hopefully be more! That's all I really want to happen. I'm going to post below four team names, but I have many more so don't think that that's the max. 10 teams is the max. Also, when you make your characters PLEASE keep in mind the teams and powers. If you want super strength as your power, don't make your character a 105 pound nerd! Also, if you want on the Varsity team, make your character a athlete, it's not a guarantee you'll get what you want, but it's a clear indication to me what you want.

Toggle Rules

1. Be literate! This is a story between the characters. If other people can't understand you, the story can't move forward.

2. Be original! This is a chance for you to be creative, so do so.

3. Do not Auto hit. We will follow a loose version of the T1 guide lines (found here) While you can move a little bit forward without waiting for a reply, when in battle you can't make more then two moves without your enemy replying.

4. This story is supposed to not only focus on your character's decisions, but also yours! So have some fun! Make friends, make enemies, make or break bridges. If you want to vote someone out, do it! Don't be too courteous, because in there end there may be a surprise, and you might be all on your own for it (Hint Hint)!

5. Be courteous and give other people a chance to respond to your actions.

a. That being said, make battles believable, each power will be unique in their own ways. All's fair in love and war. Remember…You are not undefeatable. Even with the best power, you can’t stop elite enemies from outflanking you.

b. Describe the battles how you believe they would play out. Work with the other player over pm.

6. Romance should be kept to clothes on. Anything further then that can go to PM please

7. I made the intro as user friendly as possible, but it can still be kinda confusing, so please feel free to PM me or post in the OCC.

8. I'm going to have to make some executive decisions along the way. I won't like it, but it must be done. Please respect my authority, because I don't like using it and will only use it when I see fit.

9. Have fun! It's almost required for me to say that, but it needs to be said! There are a LOT of rules required for this RP, but also a lot of loopholes. If you see a way around a rule, PM about it. I might congratulate you on finding a loophole! But again, keep rule 8 in mind.
