The insistent ringing was enough to rise Sabina from her sleep, and if she weren't surrounded by mountains of pillows and comforters, she would have gotten to her phone minutes before she got herself frustrated. The problem was, the ringing was coming from across the room and not just at an arms reach. By the time Sabina woke herself enough to get irritated, she'd managed to untangle herself from the sheets and pillows and attempted to jump from the bed, only to trip and stumble as one of her feet got caught. By the time she reached the phone, she was seething, breathing fire. For who could be calling her at this early hour. Flipping the phone open, she jerked it to her ear, "What?" came the venomous hiss, until her mother answered in an equally flushed manner.
Dressed in a sports bra and sleeping shorts, Sabina left little to the imagination when it came to night-wear, but it was hardly an attire most see her in. Crossing the room to disappear into the large bathroom, her voice softened as she continued to speak to her mother, the language she spoke in rolling off her tongue in an exotic fashion. About an hour later, she'd be descending downstairs, showered and fresh to face the day, dressed in a bright summer dress that came to just above her knees. Her thick black hair was braided into a thick coil to hang behind her, resembling a tail.
"Good morning," she called out to Theo, as she crossed to the kitchen, opening up the large stainless steel fridge. She hadn't noticed a new face walk in just yet, but once she closed the fridge door, with a carton of orange juice in her hands, she noted an Asian girl standing just off in the doorway of the lobby. "Hello?" Sabina called out to her with uncertainty.
