Birthplace
Aanaia, Skarladia

Parents
Lord Artemis Oswald & Lady Vincentia | Deceased

} Cora was raised in the arms of the upper class, she was born into the lap of luxury. Her childhood, however, was cut short when she and her parents were passengers on a merchant fright and the ship was attacked by pirates. Her parents were the main target of the attack, as her father was a renowned Duke with a vast fortune and estate. The attack was brutal and her parents tried their best to protect their only child, however, the Pirates efforts killed both Cora's parents before they boarded the ship. When the attackers found the young Cora, she was huddled up next to her parents' bodies crying uncontrollably. As the Pirates mission failed, they decided too scavenge what they could of it and take the girl as their hostage. As Cora had no living family left, her ransom was left unpaid for years and her captors put her to work in order to give her a chance to pay her own ransom. It was thanks to the Captain's kindness that she was merely put to work in the kitchens, saving her virtue.

} In the kitchens she learned how to take care of herself, all she had to too was keep quiet, do her work and most importantly stay hidden. being on a ship full of men, who hadn't seen a woman for long periods of time made being a girl very difficult she learned early on it was best not to taunt or talk back to anyone. The only man she was permitted to see on a regular basis was the Captian who taught her how to handle a sword and was very much an adopted father to young Cora. when she was Sixteen, her debt was paid off or rather the Captain released her from servitude. She was then given a choice, stay on at his side or leave and never return. Cora not really knowing any other life anymore remained at the old Captian's side. Two more years passed, Cora's name was starting to spread throughout the known world, but, she was no longer Artemisia Oswald Rightful Duchess of Skarladia but Cora Artemis dreaded pirate. When the Old Captian died, she was voted to replace him a position she holds to this day.

And you see the things they never see
All you wanted I could be
Now you know me and I'm not afraid
And I wanna tell you who I am

Muckingden, wasn't the most pleasant of locations but for those who lived on the outside of the law it was the only home they truly knew. Cora had gotten used to the loud and crowded streets, and although she was not born among them she felt as if they truly were her people now. No one in Muckingden cared where you came from, or rather they didn't go asking questions that might get them shot.

As Cora walked the bustling streets, with her first mate she noticed far more children on the streets then there had been before.

"Did something happen, I am not aware of Mr. Worra?" she asked looking towards the tall muscular man nearly twice her age. Worra had been her adoptive father's closest friend and her most trusted ally.

"There is some talk of some kind of flu going around Capt'." Worra responded.

"If that's true perhaps it's better we just get what we need, and head out." She retorted.

"of course ma'am" the man nodded, "But of course one drink can't hurt anyone?" he smiled.

Cora smirked, Worra was a horrible drunk as most of the men were. Their line of work never really suited the most honest of the gentleman she nodded gently as the entered a tavern known only as The Prancing Prawn.

"Well then," she said and sat down at the bar. "I'll just have an ale love." and smiled at the barmaid behind the counter.

After walking through the town and getting direct directions to the Prancing Prawn, Randall was standing outside a tavern with a large sign displaying its name. Randall stepped inside and looked around. It was a large crowd that day, one full of people who were visibly pirates or thieves. He walked up to the bar and sat down, then took off his hat. A few seats to his left sat a huge man who must’ve been a few years younger than him. Randall, knowingly instinctively not to mess with him, made sure three seats were between the two of them. No one sat on his right, which didn’t surprise Randall. Many of the patrons seemed to be in groups too big not to sit at a table. The woman at the bar came up to him and asked his order.
“One Orange Abby please,” the explorer asked and smiled politely at the barmaid. He had the bar and he had the map, now all he needed was a buyer.

"The Prawn" was bustling with patrons, Cora could not have anticipated the crowds. It might be a good day for recruiting, with a large a number of drunks and disorderly men in a confined space, but before she could ask Worra to find such men, her gaze caught sight of a man. He was older, much older than she was and has a posh air about him. She wondered what a gentleman like that was doing on Mockeningden. She smirked gently, before standing, grabbing her ale and moving to a little closer to the stranger.

"What brings you to these parts?" she asked cocking her head towards him.

Randall looked at the young woman that had approached him and tried to judge whether she’d be able to pay the type of money he wanted. He decided to take a chance.
“Well, I’m looking for a buyer to take a treasure map off of my hands.” He said, then paused and smiled at the woman running the bar as she gave him his drink.
“Thank you very much, young lady,” he said as he took the drink and gave her payment.
He turned back to the woman sitting next to him.
“If you would like to buy it, I’d be more than willing to sell it for only a hundred gold coins, a fraction of what you’ll find on the island this map leads to. What do you say, my lady?” He asked, internally hoping she wouldn’t ask why he wasn’t going.

"All Reports are in Cap'n Stagg." A Crewman Announced as he handed Arthur a Folder, before making his way off down the Hall.

Arthur Eyed the Report as he turned, Opening the file and Observing its Contents as he Walked.

"Four Pirate Aircraft.. Engagment.." He mumbled, only skimming over the words Scrawled Via Ink pen on the Paper.
"Fled to Muckingden Eh?"

He opened the Large door to his Quarters, Sitting at his desk. He remained still for an Hour or two, Thoroughly reading the Reports Now.

Two or so Knocks came from his door. Arthur stated, "Its Unlocked, Come in." With that, a Crewman Stepped in, His uniform glistening slightly in the shaded Lamp-light. He Saluted, "Sir, The Fidelis is Fully prepared for the Next Expedition. Weve Fixed the Damages to the Forward Hull, Re-Armed the Weapons, and Fully restocked on Fuel."

Arthur grew a smile on his Face, More adventures to be had. The Fidelis had been sitting inside the Karjala Refueling port for Nearly a Year now, and it was driving him Mad. Arthur Stood up and spoke, "Shovel more fuel into the Engines. We're making way for Muckingden."

"Sir Yes sir!"

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________

Muckingden had been the Interested of a Multitude of Code Officers. Often, Pirate Ships would emerge not far from its Harbors, and the Code would once again be thrusted into action to defend its Assets. A Great Many Years ago, The Code had even Attempted to siege and capture the City in hopes of Wiping its Un-civil Populous clean. Now, The Code's only buisness with the island was tracking down Pirates or Rival Privateers that attempted to Hide within the City. This of course, meant that when Code Ships arrived in the Harbors of Muckingden, it meant buisness.

The Fidelis sailed from the Clouds before it was within sight of the Harbor Crews. The Fidelis' Crewmen expertly Guided her into a Larger Dock, and extended a Boarding ramp down to the surface.

With this, Arthur Emerged, Dressed in his full attire, Sidearm visibly Holstered on his Hip. His personal Escort Met, and Saluted him.

Arthur let out a murmur. "Lets Hope we dont have to shoot the Welcoming Party this time."

He then Headed down the Boarding ramp to the docks, His Soldier-Escort on either side of him.

Cora smirked trying far to hard not to laugh at the older man. One hundred gold for a map, she didn't even know if it was legit. "So you have found a treasure map." she spoke with a spark of sarcasm in her words. " and you don't want the treasure for yourself? Pardon me Sir if I don't understand your motives."

Worra, nudged her gently whispering in her ear. "Capt' This smells fishy."

Cora laughed a little at her friend's choice of wording and nodded. Her gaze returned to the older gentleman, "If any man here had what you have, he'd surely go seak it himself not sell for far less then it is worth. What's the catch?"

Randall smiled back, thinking where to go from here.
“Well,” he responded, “It’s simple. I’ve done research on the location of the treasure this map leads to, and it’s far too dangerous for an old man like me. But someone as youthful as you, and I’d imagine you have a good airship with a crew full of members as skilled as your friend here?” He smiled again. “The only reason I’m not going is because I have better things to do than be all alone on a dangerous planet when you could be with your crew on a planet with buried treasure on it.” As he finished his words, a small dock worker ran into the bar. It was Rusty. “Hey, everyone! Some guys from the Code of th’ Right’s here! Either get ready to say hello, or run away!” He shouted, then left the bar. All around Stoker and his customer, several people began to get up and leave. Randall also saw a few people write down names, presumably of pirates they had just been talking to. He turned back to the woman when about half the bar had cleared out.
“The Code of the Right, eh? Maybe I’ll give the treasure to them. It’s really up to you,” he took his hat from the bar and put it on as he finished his drink and put it on the bar. “If you have a change of heart you can find me either talking to one of the Code or at my airship. The Icarus.” He began to get up, knowing that if she didn’t stop him now for the map, she’d certainly come find him. That or he’d be able to sell it to one of the officers. Randall knew in a place like Muckingden, it wasn’t hard to sell a map. It wasn’t a matter of if, but when.

Damn Code of The Right a pessimist bunch of children playing with expansive weaponry and big ships. Whenever Cora went they seemed to follow, a little late for a rescue attempt if that. Strange though their numbers seemed to lack within the last year or so, Cora had thought the big bad boogymen of the under society had disappeared apparently she was very wrong.

"Wait!" She urged, grabbing the man's arm her eyes narrowing ever so slightly and she stared him down. "One hundred gold you said? Cora was indeed interested, and she didn't fear the Code too much. Sure they killed many good men along the way, but as far as she knew her bounty only had a name attached not a face. They shouldn't recognize her unless she uses "Cora Artemis."

"If you promise not to sell to anyone else, I'll have One Hundred ready for you by tonight." Just need to loosen the funds form the crew first, easy. Not!

"Capt'!" Warra spoke standing from his chair, "it's time to leave."

"do we 'ave a deal sir?"

Another smile brightened Randall’s face. “Find the ship called the Wings of Icarus,” he said. He tipped his hat at the young woman and nodded at her friend, then left the bar. As he walked back to the Icarus, a thought flashed across his mind. He could find the Code and try and sell the map to them at s higher price. He quickly waved it away. That wouldn’t be fair to the young woman. If she didn’t have the money ready by tonight, however, he’d certainly reconsider. When he got back to his ship, he went to his lounge and picked out a book from his library and sat down. This should entertain him until that night.

After a short 'Greeting' with Muckingden officials at the Harbor, Arthur and his escort made his way out to The Prawn. Arthur himself was very aware of the Taverns significance with that of the Criminal underworld of The Floating Islands, But this is precisely why he had chosen it. No doubt a lead to a Swashbuckling pirate would be found there.

Arthur and his escort entered the Tavern, his Stance and Stature demanding Silence from the Patrons. His Dual-Escort moved to the Entrances and Exits, Making any routes of escape for frightened Pirates Impassable. He Approached the Counter, leaning onto it, and crossing his arms in a rather obligatory manner.

"Im looking for Pirates.." Arthur Stated, his eyes narrowing at the Barmaid.

"Im sure youve made note of some, Id like to hear a list of Who's come and Gone in the past day--Only the people of Notable importance."

Cora watched as the elderly man left the tavern, and sighed the bar was empty now and it was just Worra, the Barmaid, and Cora. She had to act quickly no doubt the Code was already prancing around the streets. To leave now would mean identification and possible jail time. No, she had to stay here. Looking around she grabbed a tablecloth and lopped it around her waist knotting it thickly on the side.

"Capt' we should..." Warra started, before Cora shhhh.. him quickly.

"Too late to leave, must make do." she said then turned to the barmaid. "Keep nice and you'll be well rewarded, betray me and you, your children, and your children's children will rue the decision."

The barmaid nodded gently, as Cora took her jacket off and jumped over the bar sliding her jacket underneath.

"Take her to the back and hide Warra, I'll call when the coast is clear."

She pulled her hair down over her face and frilled a bit, before dusting her face a bit to make it appear dirty.

Cora, stood at the bar pretending to be cleaning a glass when a man in well-tailored uniform came in. Speak of the devil, she smirked gently. "Pirates? they all ran off didn't get their names, sorry love. she mussed and fiddled with a bottle from under the bar. "Can I fetch you a drink?" she asked in a cool and collected manner.

She had to admit for a lowlife privateer he was devilishly handsome, if he wasn't her enemy right now she might consider a snong; but yes they are enemies and he'd surely let her hand if he knew who she was.

Arthur let out a small chuckle. He didnt believe the Lie he was told, not for a Minute. Her Barmaid Ruse however, seems to have worked in preventing her immediate identification.

"Your Meaning a Pirate came in for a Mug, and didnt gloat about his Victories against Defenseless merchants? Ill believe that no sooner then Muckingden is clean of Liars." He Scoffed.

He then sighed and looked the "Barmaid" Over. "If I hadn't a task, Id stay for a Flask or two of Ale, But ive responsibilities to uphold. Surely, you must have a Lead, or perhaps know of someone else who may know the location of more Swashbucklers?"

"Well sir, frankly when your busy serving drinks from morn to night, and swatting stray hands away from ya. you don't really lesion to what the letches say." she said in a slightly insulted tone. "There was an older man, upper-class type here earlier but he left shortly before you got here." Cora, reached for the bottle under the bar once more ready to smash it if need be.

"A bloke in the corner, talked about out running some daft Admiral a year ago; There was some talk of some ship called The Prydwyn docking a while ago, don't know if the capt' is still here though." She paused, giving him her ship name was dangerous, but she oh so loved teasing men. "Does that help you at all sir? Are you sure I can't get you one shot, on the house for The Code." she had to hold back for a minute, maybe she gave too much info out too quickly maybe it's just enough to make him leave.

He stood in silence a moment, inquiring on her leads she had spoken of.

"Its probably that Blasted Cora Artimis. Admiral Galleon has been attempting to catch her for Years now. Unfortunately for her, Galleon retired a few Months ago, and a New Admiral is on her Case."

He then considered a drink, Surely one shot wouldnt harm his Hunting-Capabilities. "Ahh, Sure. I suppose not even I can resist a Drink of Fine Ale, from a Fair Maiden." He gave a small smile, now standing straight once more. His Soldier-Esque Posture returning to him. It was, rather Menacing in all reality.

Cora nodded and reached for the strongest bottle she could find setting it on the bar, she bent down to grab a shot glass wail pulling a small vial from her bosom. It wasn't anything dangerous just a small flake soothed the body, and when added to alcohol brought a deep sleep to the drinker. She poured the shot and smiled, "can't have a shot without orange bitters I always say." and dropped a pinch of the flakes into the shot, making no effort to hide her actions and trying to appear completely innocent and nieve.

"If there is anything else Sir' please let me know." she smiled.

"What this?" she lifted up the bottel, "Just a little herb that makes the shot easer to get down. We mostly sell pisswater, so clientel need a little help getting the drink down the hatch." she sprinkled some in her hand, "their perfectly safe." she said as she dropped about three in her mouth, and swallowed. Smiling plesently, feeling so much more relaxed.

It was getting late, Cora had to meet the old man soon but damn it this guy wouldn't leave. She had to get out of there now, but what would prove to be the prime distraction?

"Pardon me sir, but I'm gonna just check on my little sister." she smiled, grabbing her jacket from under the bar and rolling it in the tablecloth skirt. She gently backed away from the man, towards the door. [color=#400040]" she is so dear to me, she hid the moment she heard you enter the prawn, bless her soul."

"Ah, Right then."

Arthur went to down his drink, but one of his Escorts--Having left his post at the door-- Stopped him.

The Guard spoke "Sir, A Patrol just stopped by from the Harbor. They said the Icarus is here."

"Mr. Stoker's ship, Here in Mukcingden? That hardly seems reasonable." Arthur spoke, Question in his voice. The Guard stood idly by, waiting for Orders.

Arthur set his shot down, and looked back at the "Barmaid.."

"Pardon me sir, but I'm gonna just check on my little sister." she smiled, grabbing her jacket from under the bar and rolling it in the tablecloth skirt. She gently backed away from the man, towards the door." she is so dear to me, she hid the moment she heard you enter the prawn, bless her soul."

Arthur raised yet another inquisitive eyebrow. "Right then. Her Fear is justified, The Code isnt here for drinks, only to hunt Pirate scum. Perhaps I will return in a moments time. As for now, I must be off." He stood, The Pistol in his holster making a metallic sound as he adjusted it.

He spoke to his Guards, "Take me to Stokers Ship, He'll know who to find. Perhaps we can even get more expedition Funding from him." His Guards chuckled at the Thought as he turned to The 'Barmaid' "Perhaps I will see you again, But as for now, I must be off."

He gave a small, but Polite wave as he and his Escort made way for the Smaller Harbor.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Arthur and his Guard approached the Icarus. He looked around at its Wings, rather Unimpressed that such a vessel was fit for so many dangerous expeditions--Especially for a man like Stoker.

"I doubt Mr. Stoker would shoot me dead. You two can make way back to the Fidelis, I will handle this."
His Guards nodded, and turned, headed back to the Airship. Arthur then Approached the On-Ramp to the Icarus, Hoping Stoker would notice his presence before he had to Alert the old Man himself.

Cora stood in silence for a minute, before opening the door revealing Worra hold his pistol towards the real barmaid. She let out a great sigh and moved to her friend reaching her arm out she pushed the gun down. "Ol' Gentleman Worra at it again I see." she teased. She pulled on her jacket, and tore off the tablecloth, before pulling a small bag and handing it to the real barmaid. "My thanks for putting up with this old git."

"Cap't" Worra, spoke.

"We need to leave..."

Cora, pulled her hair up and grabbed a black scarf from her jacket pocket. Wrapping it around her mouth she motioned to Worra to leave and the two left the barmaid counting the gold Cora had thrown to her.

"You're getting reckless, You could have just given him false information and left but you..."

Cora, started moving ahead she wasn't in the mood for his lectors. It was like she was five years old again and tutor Vincent telling her she can't climb a tree in a dress. Her mother hadn't been happy after the girl proved her tutor wrong, It's sad really Cora had really wanted to go to that party.

"Artemisia!" Worra spat, causing Cora to stop dead in her tracks. She hated when he spoke her real name expectedly in public.

"Don't" she started looking back at him with a fire in her eyes.

"Sorry, but you were lost in a dream." he apologized.

She shook her head and sighed realizing they had somehow made it to the docks. She spotted a young boy running around and called out to him, asking him for information on where they might find this Wings of Icarus.

"Ah, Mr Stoker, Might I first add that I am a large follower of your works. Ive followed a few of your expeditionary trails, and read quite a few of your books. It truley is an Honor. Now if i may add, Why is an Explorer with High class such as yourself--Here in Muckingden?"

Arthur had been a large follower of Stokers Travels. He was often forced to read His Works during his years of Schooling as a teen. Mr.Stokers books were among the few he actually enjoyed.

From her current location at the Harbor, Cora could see the towering Crows Nests of the Fidelis. Its Flag Waving proudly in the wind. It could no doubt Garrison at least a Thousand Troopers, All of which would be hard to escape if they were too come Hunting for here at once...
