César is a handsome, and muscular young Latino man. He is physically fit, with a toned body. César has short dark brown hair, a beard, and rather thick eyebrows. Generally César wears rather simple, and light clothing, just whatevers comfortable. Usually this is a dark red hoodie, a plain t-shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers. He's not one for flash. While at the nightclub he works at he wears a white dress shirt underneath a black vest along with matching dress pants, and shoes, all very professional. Despite not being particularly religious he does wear a silver cross around his neck at all times that once belonged to his father.
O D D I T I E S
César has many deep scars all over his body that paint a rather vivid picture of past abuse. He has a few tattoos on his body, including a sugar skull tattoo on his left shoulder, a dagger going through a rose on his inner right forearm, and a winged star on his back. He speaks with a slight Cuban accent.

✦ Stubborn ✧ Protective ✦ Caring ✧ Nerdy ✦
What is there to say about César Cruz? He's a young man who has been forced to grow up far too soon. Ever Mr. Responsible, César has spent his whole life doing one thing, and one thing only, taking care of his family. Well, namely his young twin half-sisters whom he has been forced to raise, and considers himself more like their father than their brother. Their well being is always his biggest concern, everyone else be damned, even himself. Like any good parent, César has always put a backseat to his own desires, and dreams for their sake. Due to this César hasn't really experienced many good things in his life, forcing him to develop a bitter and pessimistic outlook on life, and in turn a thick wall around himself to keep others at arm's length.
Though César loves his siblings greatly, and would do anything for them he can't help but feel a tinge of resentment towards them. They are siblings after all, not his children. He feels as though he shouldn't be forced to look after like they were. But this resentment is mostly directed at their mother who abandoned them. César has mountains of abandonment issues due to this. But rather than doing the healthy thing and dealing with these issues he merely keeps them bottled up inside, hidden from everyone around him. Indeed, César is rather stubborn, and absolutely refuses to ask for help. He believes that he has to deal with his problems himself, and sees most outside help as charity. And he refuses to be anyone's charity case. To keep these emotions in check César has turned to exercise, and boxing to channel this rage.
Though César is Mr. Responsible, that doesn't mean he's dull or a stick in the mud. Sure, he doesn't go out partying or anything, but he does have a decent sense of humor with a bit of sass in him, and is considered to be quite charming, and the fact that he looks like a super model doesn't hurt either, he works part time at a nightclub after all, he regularly gets a stack of phone numbers from the various patrons. Though still being Mr. Responsible he rarely, if ever takes anyone up on their offers. César is naturally kind, and protective of others, having a strong paternal instinct thanks to his sisters. Though he still keeps people at arms length, and in fact there are few people, at either the gym he regularly trains at or the nightclub he works at, who know too much about his personal life.
César has a number of different interests, and is actually quite nerdy. He's an avid film buff, and sci-fi fan, with him being particularly a fan of Star Trek, and the works of Frank Herbert. As a natural athlete he is also an avid sports fan, especially of combat sports such as boxing or mixed martial arts. All in all César is a responsible young man who's only concern in life is the well being of his little sisters.

✧Animal Mimicry - César has the shapeshifting ability to take on the physical characteristics of any animal he chooses without taking on the full form. For example he can sprout the wings of a hawk while also gaining the enhanced eyesight, and talons, or gaining the thick and durable scales of a crocodile as well as enhanced swimming ability, and strength. Some of these transformations are painful, especially forms that cause the growth of extra body parts such as wings or tails. Generally it's easier to gain the attributes of mammals due to him being a mammal. Currently he can only mimic one animal at a time.
✦Regenerative Healing - Due to the shapeshifting nature of his abilities César's body is constantly changing, which gives him an incredible healing ability. It has been theorized that he could possibly regrow lost limbs, though he hasn't tried this for obvious reasons.
✧Animal Manipulation/Empathy - Thanks to his abilities César has unmatched understanding of animals, and an empathetic connection towards them. He can control animals through this connection.
S T R E N G T H S

Miami, Florida, USA
H I S T O R Y
Poor little César, he never stood a chance. Born to Catalina Espinosa, a young woman from California who headed east for adventure, and Rafael Cruz, a Cuban refugee who was a kid when he and his family arrived to America thanks to the Freedom Flights in Miami. The two hooked up for a one-night stand that resulted in Catalina's pregnancy. Rafael was rather religious, and so a shotgun wedding wasn't too far down the line. His parents got along well enough, but they weren't soulmates, or really even truly loved each other. It was only because she was pregnant that they stayed together, and they both knew it.
Once César was born the two remained civil with one another, trying to make their marriage work, even if they didn't love one another. When it came to César, Rafael was a loving, and caring father, it was just something that came naturally to him, while Catalina on the other hand had difficulties feeling any sort of maternal connection with César, which made her distant, and somewhat cold towards her son. Unlike her husband Catalina never had any intention of settling down. She wanted to see the world, but now, now she was tied down. She couldn't help but feel a bit of resentment towards her son.
As the years went by Rafael, and Catalina's marriage began, unsurprisingly, falling apart. The two would argue more often than not, though for the most part they tried to keep it civil when around César, but their growing disdain for each other was rather obvious, even to their child. César was nine years old when his parents had the biggest, and rather loudest fight. It was enough to cause Rafael to storm out in anger. He took a long drive to clear his head, but ended up getting t-boned by a semi-truck because he wasn't focused on driving.
César was left alone with his mother. The following years the two of them struggled to get by. During this time there was a revolving door of boyfriends that Catalina attracted. Some were decent enough guys, but most were complete, and utter bastards. Catalina was the type of woman who couldn't stand being alone, even if she still had her son. In his early teens Catalina met her future second-husband, Alberto 'Al' Cortez. Al was a career criminal who provided for the two of them, but that didn't make up for the fact that he was a violent, and abusive man, or at least in César's mind. Catalina however cared for what he provided, and she grew to love him, even the fact that he wasn't made of the strongest moral fiber. She didn't care.
César and his step-father were always at each others throats, often coming to blows as well. The two of them continued to fight, while Catalina merely ignored it, choosing the man she loved over her own son. It wasn't before long that Catalina was pregnant, and gave birth to twin girls, Sofia and Isabella. Al barely gave the twins notice, leaving them to be taken care of by their mother, and César. Well, mostly César. Though Catalina was noticeably more caring towards the twins than she was with César, she was still nuttier than a fruitcake, leaving César to pick up the slack more often than not.
Eventually Al was arrested, and carted off to jail to serve twenty-five to life, to the delight of César. He was not a good guy after all. Catalina was devastated however. Catalina just completely shut down, and became deeply depressed, which eventually led to drug abuse. This left César to look after his siblings completely while she was off dealing with her grief. César had to work his ass off to provide for his family, nearly failing out of high school in the process. And then on his eighteenth birthday Catalina just abandoned them, leaving behind a note that she was leaving them. And leaving César to raise his sisters on his own.
After all they didn't have any other family members. His grandparents died before he was born, and he wasn't going to go near any of Al's family. Although they did have one family member that he was aware of, the only person from his mother's side he knew of, or even met for that matter, his uncle Marco who lived in San Fransisco. César tried to make things work at home, after all Miami was the only home any of them ever knew. He dropped out of school, got himself a full-time job. But he was an eighteen year old taking care of two five year old girls. He could barely keep his head above water.
During the following summer César finally broke down, and contacted his uncle Marco. Marco wasn't surprised by his sister's actions. She was never the most responsible person, and always had a certain attraction towards trouble. Marco agreed to help his nieces and nephews, sending them enough money so they could make it to San Fransisco, thinking that they needed to be around family. And he was all they had left. And so César packed up what little belongings they had, and took his sisters on a bus to California, to their new home in San Fransisco.
Once in San Fransisco uncle Marco set them up in a decent enough apartment, and even got César a job working at a nightclub, Club Temptation, which is owned by a 'friend' of Marco's. And by friend he was really a business associate, and Marco's business was selling designer drugs to clubs such as Temptation. César quickly learned of this, and distanced himself, and his sisters as far away a possible from Marco and his business, refusing to be apart of it, or letting it be near his sisters. His uncle understood, and respected his wishes, agreeing to keep his distance from them, but always reminding them that the door was open if they ever needed any help from him. They were family after all, but César was adamant that he didn't need any help from Marco, almost quitting his job, and finding a different apartment. But he knew what this would do to his sisters, and decided against it for their sake. But he was still going to keep Marco away from his family.
With his new job as bouncer at the club it was obvious that keeping in shape was something that was important, so he found himself a gym. And the gym he found was run by a former boxer, one Freddie Alvarez. It didn't take very long to see the pain, and rage inside of César, the frustration of his life. And so Freddie showed him the ring, and ways to express that anger, and work through it. And as it turned out César was a natural. Thanks to his years of abuse at the hands of Al, and the other boyfriends his mother brought around if there was one thing he knew it was how to take a beating. But it turns out he's just as adept at giving one as he is receiving one. And Freddie became a mentor for César, a father figure of sorts. Thanks in part to his own struggles in life, and rough upbringing.
Boxing became a outlet to work off his anger, and the extra money from amateur fights it brings in doesn't hurt either. At the club things were going well, while he mostly worked as a bouncer on occasion when there was no one else César would work as a bartender, making himself a decent amount of tips(thanks to his beautiful, beautiful face). Things were looking for him actually. The twins adjusted well enough to their new surroundings, made friends, did well in school, and César even took some night classes to finally get his high school diploma, well mostly due to the encouragement of Freddie.
And then his rebirth happened. It happened early in the morning, he woke up in a sweat, feeling like his insides were burning up. César thought it was just some kind of bug, and tried to just deal with it himself, but then came the bleeding from his eyes. He tried to get to a hospital but when he tried to get out the door he collapsed on the ground, and then his heart stopped. He's not sure how long he was out, but then he woke up. As soon as he woke up he had violent spasms, and his body began changing. His skin turned to scales, and then to fur, and then slick brightly colored skin before finally turning back to normal.
After that he learned that he had the ability to gain the characteristics of different animals. At first he tried to deny it, he thought he was going crazy. After all, what's more plausible, one person going crazy or the entire world going crazy? But it soon came to the point where he couldn't deny it. He was a Superhuman. He kept this a secret, even from those closest to him, hoping that it would just go away if he didn't use them. And then he was contacted by Dr. Savino about his little Superhumans support group. He was apprehensive at first, but he figured that if anyone could figure out a way to get rid of his powers it'd be him.
