That made her blush a bit, and she smiled at him, her glossed lips stretching a bit as she turned to the last page of homework. "Actually, I'd really like that." She said, her own voice sounding slightly sultry in a way, and after she realized that she panicked inside. "My father, he is a professor, I think I mentioned. He's always getting on me about my crappy hand writing." Hopefully she hadn't embarrassed herself too much in that little episode, and couldn't bare to glance up into those icy blue hues to see if she had blown herself in his eyes. A turn of the car made her almost lose a paper but she caught it with ease and finished up, putting her journal into her back pack and then setting his back neatly where they had been when she had jumped inside the car.
After she had gotten herself preoccupied, she leaned back against the seat, looking outside the window as he started to speak again in response to her previous question. He thinks he'll like it here? But it was so boring, filled with rich, preppy school kids and of course stoners and bums to top that off; but it wasn't like she hadn't done a few stupid things too. She grinned as she remembered her first time trying weed, how she had sucked too hard and all the fiery ashes of the plant had stained her tongue and made Corey and Keisha laugh as she screamed and ran around like she was insane. She giggled softly under her breath, before he flashed her a slight dashing smile along with a comment that clearly was meant to be towards her.
Her cheeks flared up, hot for a moment as she stared at him for a few seconds and then smiled down at her lap. "Well, that's good then. I'd hate for everything to be boring around here. Maybe things will get past tolerable?" She said, and then looked at the window, cursing at herself. Did she really just say that? It was like, when she was around him, he screwed her flirting skills all over the place. She was normally quite good at it, but he just made the signal scatter and it was strange to her. She rested her hands on her lap as she glanced ahead at the local Starbucks Cafe. "You know, we do have... around 15 minutes. If you wanted, we could stop and grab something." She said, shrugging timidly as she looked away in fear that he would reject her.

The responded smoothly at first, but she seemed to panic and added on hurriedly. But she was responding well. Her face was slightly flushed, a very pretty color against her skin. He'd make an effort to do good on the offer, because the more time he could spend with her the better. And it had potential for a pleasant encounter, if he knew anything at all. It would be a good type of pretense to use at first, so he wouldn't come on too strong, even though she seemed rather unperturbed by it anyway. Rather receptive of it, actually, in a sort of bemused way, as if she was surprised. He wasn't that oppressive though, to leave her dazed, was he? Maybe it had to do with her little friends, especially the witch bitch. Or that boy. She'd spent quite a bit of class time texting that boy. He'd make sure that didn't go anywhere though, not if he could help it. And he'd do a good job of it too, because he didn't half-ass things, and he always did a good job. It was a gift.
He could see the swift rush of blood through her face as she spoke then turned her face towards the window. "Well, I made a good start, I've no doubt things will get better from here." He said, enough positiveness in his voice to keep him from sounding dreary but not enough to make him irritatingly cheerful. That was actually, upon further though, impossible for him, to be quite honest. He'd never done it before, and hopefully he'd never have to endure such a terrible attack of such kind of emotion. That would be foul.
He couldn't tell how much of her demeanor was coyness and how much was shyness, but it didn't matter which it was, he'd piqued her interest properly, perfect, and he was already planning his next endeavor. She suggested a perfect beginning for the next attack. A big brand coffee house. Starbucks. He didn't particularly fancy coffee, the acid bothered his stomach in large amounts, but it was tolerable. Especially for such a noble cause. And she sounded so timid about it. It was sweet, but hopefully she'd soften up a little bit around him, because he didn't think he could stand her acting so cute and shy all the time. The other vampires would rip into her if she showed that much weakness. No matter though.
"That sounds like an idea to me." he said, smoothly taking the turn into the small lot in front of the building. It was an odd time of the morning, and other than a smattering of students there weren't many others loitering around. He allowed a white smile under the pale eyes, as he shut the car off and grabbed his bag from the back, pulling himself out and around the car so he could open the door for her too before she could open it herself.
Everything about him this morning was loose, from the careless tousle of his hair and the set of his shoulders to his clothed and his bag hanging idly off his shoulder and the faint, pleasantly amused grin curving on his face.

He's just a boy. A new boy. You don't know much about him, he's just a new friend. You don't need to be so damn shy. Woman up.
She took in a deep breath before she got out of the car when he opened her door, a smile on her face as she grabbed her own bag and pulled her cell phone into her pocket. She let him shut the door before she looked him over, appreciating and admiring his loose demeanor and wondering how he pulled such a look off. "So, do you have a girl or close friends back home?" She asked him, tilting her head as they walked into the busied cafe with students running to get pumped with caffeine. She stood in line, looking around with a soft yawn as she noticed a few people eyeing her, one of them being Brian Golding, a stuck up jock from school (I can't remember if I mentioned him earlier in the story but in case I didn't, I'm adding him in just to introduce him.)
She rolled her eyes, crossing her arms as he let his bemused and stupid grin meet her eyes once again. He always had this desire to tease her in the past, and often got her in trouble with one of his stuck up admirers which ended in bitch fights and of course, her always telling the truth and denying ever wanting to sleep with the son of a bitch. She looked up at Damien for a quick second before, smiling slightly and a bit more confidently as the smell of coffee and other aromas made her relax more, her feet shuffling a little bit at a time as they neared the counter.

Damien walked with Audrey into the coffee shop. It smelled warm and bitter and very human. he slid his hands into his pockets as they stood in the line, tipping his head slightly to one side and shrugging one shoulder aimlessly in response to her question. "Not really. I was an secluded child. Never really interested in friends or anything." He trained his eyes briefly across the room to scope everyone who was in there, never could be too careful in a new town. There was one witch bitch, there could as easily be another, or a mangy dog, or another threat. "I was hoping to change that here though. Small town by myself, new people, a fresh start." He withdrew a hand from his pocket to run it through his hair as if in reflection then hooked his thumb in the pocket so his fingers curled against the outside of his thigh. "I think I've made a good start on it, wouldn't you say." He laughed softly, the sound actually quite warm against the heated air of the Starbucks.
The sound tasted curious in his mouth, it wasn't quite a whole laugh, almost as if it had been softened by a purr, and it was certainly warmer than he'd expected. He was better than this whole thing than he'd planned. So long as such inane habits didn't follow him back home he'd gladly use them here, no questions asked.
He felt a slight change in her body language after a few seconds, and his eyes followed her gaze to a teenage male, who was looking back at her in a way Damien found most distasteful. She had her arms crossed though, she didn't like him. Good, then he wouldn't have to do anything about him. The blue eyes male just shifted slightly on his feet, nearer to Audrey, eying the foolish human coldly until he noticed Audrey's weight shift she she could look up at him. He allowed his face to mirror her smile as they shuffled closer to the front of the line.
As they neared the counter, he slid a pale hand into his back pocket. "What will you have?" he inquired, as he intended to pay for her drink no matter how much she argued with him over it. It was the gentlemanly thing to do. And an excuse so he could just get whatever she did and try to force a bit of it down. It shouldn't be too bad, Maybe the peanut butter would dispel some of the acid from the drink and he wouldn't have to deal with the painful annoyance that called itself human food. Honestly, he didn't know how their blood could taste so good when they put such foul things into their bodies. It was strange.

"Eh... I didn't eat. But, I can wait." She spoke to herself softly as she looked towards the woman behind the counter who was smiling at them with a bit of a rushed look as her tousled hair was already starting to stick from the rough bun. "Gah, just a white chocolate latte." She said, smiling to herself as she glanced back up at Damien again. "I can get it you know... I really can. It's okay." She said, rubbing the back of her neck as she had a hand on her wallet inside her purse.

"No chance." He said with a grin, his eyes following her profile as she looked up at the menu. The smile fell off his face quickly, before it waned more devilish than he'd like. She murmured something about not eating before ordering a latte. "I'll have the same. And a.....errr....croissant." He picked something randomly off the list. Hopefully Audrey would want it, because he was sure as hell not going to eat it unless he had to. But he wouldn't let her go hungry. Then he waved her words off. "It's no problem. I haven't paid you back for all your help anyway." He pulled his credit card out of his wallet and flicked it over to the woman. "And really, what would people think if I took a pretty girl somewhere and made her pay her own way?" He inclined his head at the male that was still occasionally glancing their way, despite the warning glare Damien had sent his way not too long ago.
He reached out and took the card back with little more than a glance at the woman, a faint smile playing across his lips as he tucked it back in his wallet and they moved out of the way to wait for their drinks. He propped an elbow against the edge of the counter a pleasantly lazy expression on his face. After the first painful bout of hunger the smell of so many humans had brought on, the scent had settled into a quietly pleasing aroma. But he really did need to find something proper to eat soon, and find a place to get rid of the remains. Maybe he could do that this evening.
Their order didn't take too long, as the place was running quite quickly due to the sheer amount of students moving around within. The place couldn't afford to move any slower, as adolescents were impatient as a rule. "Thank you." He said to the human who slid the two cups and the small paper bag across the counter, handing one drink to Audrey and offering the little brown bag as well, blue eyes stubborn. He wrapped the fingers of one hand around his own cup, the drink was very warm under his fingers. Much too warm. If he quaffed it while it was hot it would diminish the taste, but it would do a number on his innards. If he waited, then he'd be attacked by the bitter sweetness. Which would be the better option?
"I wasn't sure what you'd want to eat, so I went for the standard. Hope it's alright." He said, hooking a lopsided grin on his pale face.

As they waited for the drinks and food to come, she glanced up at him, watching him carefully and studying him. He was quite suave, and casual with his movements and his expressions; she had never seen someone so... chill. It made her grin a bit more before she glanced down at her phone, playing with the screen as if she was texting but really was just staring at it so she didn't stare at him. She decided to text Corey actually, since they were hanging out tonight.
To: Corey
Can't wait to hang(: Gonna kick your ass at Dead Island.
She then swayed on her feet for a few more moments until the woman handed Damien their products, and she took her drink, and took a long sip from it before she noticed him holing her a bag. She sighed a bit, smiling as she grabbed the bag and moved over towards a table and opened the bag to find a croissant sitting at the bottom. "You didn't have to." She said, glancing at him with a smile as she took it out and started to bite into it mannerly. She was quite hungry since she had only downed a few scoops of cookie dough, and the flakey buttery item in her mouth made her smile with her lips closed as she swallowed her first bite and continued to attack it until it was gone.
Her drink warmed her up inside as she continued to sip from it, looking at Damien and decided to try to spark some sort of conversation. "So, Damien. What is it you like to do? I mean, you know... like in general. Do you like video games or anything?" Audrey asked, tilting her head at him as she glanecd at the time. They had plenty of it, and she thought getting to know more about him was a nice topic.
Setting

She took her phone out momentarily, but it was gone before they sat down. Damien had to tolerate it, nothing else he could do. There were somethings he'd just have to deal with for the moment. He curled his fingers around the cup as he sat down, resting it on the palm of one hand. He took a cursory sip that bit at the inside of his mouth with heat. He couldn't taste much more than the heat, a good thing, since the smell was quite....interesting. Questionable, perhaps. "It was no trouble." He said with a slight smile as she ate the pastry. She'd obviously been rather hungry, because she did away with the thing quickly. It had been a good move purchasing it for her. Another advancement in his careful game, perhaps?
He took another short swig, trying to down as much as possible without seeming ostentatious about it. She took a stab at conversation. Video games. She'd only bring it up if it was one of her interests, it would be in his best interest to agree. "My brother and I used to play games all the time." he said, which wasn't altogether false. Before everything started heading south for Demetrius they hadn't been on particularly bad terms. Mutual brotherhood and all that lot. And among all the things they were required to do they'd engaged in some human tomfoolery. "I'm also bit of a musician. Violin, piano, guitar, and all that." He paused to rid the cup of more of the hot liquid, until he was left at the halfway mark. He swallowed again the taste of the stuff cloying on his tongue. "I could only bring one with me though," which was absolutely true. For expedient reasons he'd only brought his guitar, the proven best weapon for wooing young women. "so I suppose I'm spend a lot of time pretending to play the guitar." He laughed softly and took another quaff of his drink.
"What do you like to do? Other than being in a band, walk to school in the mornings when it's much too cold out, and making friends with the new kid." He asked, releasing his coffee cup and leaning his head on one hand and flicking his cool blue eyes over her face with utmost interest. The slender fingers of his other had still wrapped around the coffee, and his skin was cooling it down much to swiftly, nearly as fast as his hand was warming up to level the temperature. He'd drunk a sufficient amount to say that he'd made an attempt.
You wish :p I'm prepared to take the crown this time! It'll be epic.
