Introduction
The History
The land and the seas were created by Irrena; the Goddess of light and life. Irrena was the first to walk and care for the lands she had created, and soon she created others. The mortal humans came after the beasts of the land, the birds of the air, and the creatures of the see. Following their creation came the immortal Elves, and though Irrena loved all her creations she took favor on the Elves, blessing them with gifts and powers untold.
She summoned six from her creations, those that were strongest, bravest, and of the purest heart; five mortal men, and one of the elven race. It was three years before the six emerged from Irrena’s council, so greatly transformed they were no longer recognized by their former kin.
She graced the four mortal men with one gift, one power that would set them apart from all, that would give them the ability to rule in Irrena’s stead, and to the two she had chosen from the Elven, she gifted her own gifts. Irrena declared them the six Kings, and it was the six Kings all would follow.
There was a time of peace, in which populations grew to number tens of thousands spread throughout the various regions a few ruled by each of the six Kings.
In the year 1354 of the 2nd age, quarrels developed over land boundaries and hunting grounds and the first blood was spilled in violence. Adrian had declared open war against his own brother sending his warriors at night to destroy the peaceful village of Dalhurst, and isolated settlement far from the capital of Lanercoast the nearest Kingdom to Adrians own, which was under the keen watch of his brother. The retaliation of his brother Elijah was even more barbaric, leaving several villages within Easthaven engulfed in flames. Horrified by the spilling of blood in such a manner, Calios, one of the two elves chosen by Irrena decided it was time to intervene.
It was Aysus, the other Elf chosen by Irrena who offered to speak to Adrian. However, instead of securing peace, he accepted the challenge of single combat utterly destroying Adrian, along with six of Easthaven’s most respected lords. The mortals were so unprepared for the ferocious skill of Aysus, that they began to fear the elves, fortifying their settlements against them.
The four remaining kings took council, declaring that Aysus’s actions were an abomination worthy of exile. When Aysis learned he was to be banished from the council of the kings, and his power revoked, he began to claim that all mortals were in great danger. Many believed him out of fear that they too would be annihilated and began forging weapons of war.
Aysus offered to aid them in the fight against his former brothers. He chose leaders from among them, and fled with a score of men into the west, far beyond the known lands. There he molded them through deception, and they became the endarkened.
It was a year before this time that Calios had married a mortal, the first known marriage between the Elves and the humans. When his first child was born, a daughter, Aysus declared war on Calios and the ancestors of the four human Kings. Calios’ forces overpowered Aysus’ own and they were pushed back into the unknown lands. Calios took reign over the Elven Kingdom that once belonged to Aysus, declaring he would protect all of Irrena’s creations as Aysus had failed in his duties to the Goddess.
However, Aysus was not finished with Calios. Four months before the six birthday of Calios’ daughter, one of Aysus’ endarkened no known as the Demons, possessed the King of Lanercoast, now under his control, Aysus used the King of Lanercoast and his armies to destroy the Kingdom Calios so deeply loved, and everything he had vowed to protect.
One by one he conquered the lands, the kingdoms, penetrating the Kingdoms with men he had possessed and were using as puppets, the King of Lanercoast was ultimately in control of most of the land, leaving Royal Families simply for show. Aysus left Calios’ kingdom for last.
On the night of his daughters sixth birthday, The King of Lanercoast sent his men to burn the Elven kingdom to the ground, to kill Calios and his family, and that is what he did. Calios and his wife Gwendolyn died that night, but the Princess, was never found, after months of searching the Princess was assumed to be another casualty of the massacre.
The remnants of the Elven people fled, some taking a more mortal like form hiding among the humans, another fled to the east, where Calios’ sister Mavin had a stronghold for all those with strong powers, defended by those powers the safe haven was impenetrable.
The Storyline
The King of Lanercoast is the most powerful alive, controlling almost all the lands no one dare step in his way after he annihilated the Elven Kingdom. Unknown to many, even his own family, the King of Lanercoast is under the control of Alysus, once a chosen one of the Goddess Irrena, now known as the Endarkened Lord. But the fear of the elves power still runs deep in the veins of Alysus and all those that serve him, he has had the King suppress magic of all kinds and has been having those known to has magic run in their blood executed.
His thirst to control the world has also led the King to decide to hold a competition of the world’s most deadly, and most feared murderers and Assassins. Among the Twenty-seven summoned, is a single girl, feared by all over the land as she is known as the deadliest. But the one labeled the deadliest has a secret that could prove fatal to her. She is not of Mortal blood as most would assume, but she is infact the blood of Calios and Gwendolyn, the heir to the Elven Kingdom, and the only known mix of mortal and immortal.
Twenty-seven of the most dangerous people in the same place does not seem like a good idea. But the King is desperate as is Alysus, they need a champion to end the Elven race. And after seven years of serving him the champion is to be released, handed their freedom.
She plans on winning, what she didn't plan on was the Crown Prince, the relationship and love that blossomed between them out of their control, he probably didn't expect it either, to fall for the person he was supposed to hate most. Yet here they were, and their relationship could cost them everything if it were ever discovered. Cost her everything.
