Despite being on the ground, André is very concerned with his appearance. He had time to pack clothes for himself before he snuck onto the drop ship, so he's able to wear basically whatever he chooses. When he knows he's going to stay in camp all day, he likes to wear dress pants and coats and other fancy things of the sort; when he knows he's leaving camp, he wears clothing that is still stylish but he can move around easier in them. He normally wears a simple dress shirt of any color under a black leather jacket and tight light brown pants underneath. He likes to accessorize this with a black dress hat and scarves. He is always wearing jewelry and changes it up often. He wears earrings (he has cartilage piercings as well), rings, bracelets, necklaces, anklets and he also has nipple piercings; he doesn't share this often but doesn't care if people know. He's proud of his nips. While this is his go to outfit, you never know with André as he likes to switch up and show off his clothes often. One day it could be something completely random and no one would be expecting it.

André and his twin brother Adrian were born on Unity Day on the Ark, ironic for their situation. On the Ark, the rule against siblings is extremely strict. No one has siblings and no one had for a long, long time. Adrian is the son of a crazy guard and a lovable farmer At first, Jack (André's dad) seemed normal, so Claire (André's mom) wound up falling for him. After they got engaged, Jack got extremely possessive over her and started making rules, not allowing her to see her friends or family anymore unless he was around. She didn't leave because she loved him and chose Jack over everyone else in her life, partly out of fear. After their marriage, Claire got pregnant. Jack didn't let her go get any ultrasounds so they had no idea that there was a pair of twins inside her. Thankfully, Claire's mother was a trained doctor and the only person Jack trusted with delivering his baby so they went to her when she was in labor.
Claire was naturally a very skinny woman so it just looked like a normal pregnancy. André came out first and after a few moments, Claire started screaming and going into labor again. The second baby was born and there was talk about Claire getting floated. There were strict rules made that only one of the identical twins would be allowed out at a time and to avoid any problems, Jack would steal the random check-up schedule and have one of the boys stay with their grandparents in this time. Claire's family (except for Claire's dad) and Jack would blame Adrian for being born and tell him that he shouldn't have been born. This made Adrian very insecure about himself and Claire distanced herself from her family, since she'd always defend her babies over anyone else.
It was decided that André would go to school on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and go to the Farm station on Tuesdays and Thursdays (after school hours, so there would be no confusion if one boy was in two places at once) and vice versa for Adrian. It was a great system and worked out fine for many years, until André hit puberty. André hit puberty before Adrian did, at the age of 14. He started growing facial hair, hit a growth spurt and his voice changed. It was odd to see Adrian one day, looking like a young boy and André the next, looking older. It got harder and harder to hide until one day there was a random check-up in their home that Jack wasn't informed of or wasn't put in any schedule.
They separated Adrian, André and Claire from Jack, as he was going to be put in front of the Council first. Jack explained how they didn't know that she was pregnant with twins and they couldn't just get rid of one but no longer had a problem getting rid of one of the twins since he saw them as a nuisance. The Council instead threw him in the Sky Box for lying and chose to float Claire, since she's the one who got pregnant. Since Adrian was born after André, they decided to put the blame on him and lock him away until he was of age to be floated, which was in 4 years.
André continued on with his life, living with his family who then blamed him for Claire's death. The only person who didn't blame him was always their grandpa, so he managed to get through the years he had to live without Adrian. André would sometimes visit his brother in jail, but didn't go often. He was trying to prepare himself for Adrian's inevitable death that would happen in a few years and started hating the council for what they did to his mom and brother. However, he didn't want to hurt Adrian so he bared through the pain for a year until he finally couldn't do it anymore. André distanced himself from his brother and eventually stopped visiting altogether.
André got into his true passions when he had more freedom and those were playing the piano and fashion. André loved looking good and found an even bigger passion for it when he discovered his grandmother's abandoned sewing machine. She wouldn't show him how to use it, so he learned how to do it on his own and was naturally amazing at it. He'd look through old magazines and be fascinated by all the old styles, then incorporate them into the clothes he made. Before he knew it, his closet and room was full of unique styles and different clothes. When his closet got too full, he became obsessed with looking beautiful on his face as well.
By the time he was sixteen, André had no more awkward acne, was growing into his body and had become much more attractive, getting him attention from girls and guys in his classes and he managed to get laid a lot. This only fed André's infamous ego. When André was seventeen, his thoughts were all crowded with the fact that his brother would be facing his death very soon and found himself feeling sadder and weaker all the time. However, he was one day approached by a guard and an old friend of his father's who informed him in private that his brother would be sent to the ground soon and would have a chance at survival.
André was shocked to hear this information and the guard offered him one last chance at a decent life with his brother on the ground. He told André that he'd always been sympathetic for the twins and Claire because he knew how crazy Jack was, so André jumped at the opportunity and started packing his bags. He told his grandfather about his plan, but only his grandfather. When the day came, André was the first to be snuck into the drop ship and all the other kids were piled in. This was weeks before his and Adrian's birthday, Unity Day.
