It's not so bad, being dead. There are many like you, spirits haunting the hallowed halls of Wraith Academy. Sometimes, if you concentrate hard enough, you can appear to any resident you want to, and many psychics and sensitives have come through the academy. You speak with them, and they see you even without your efforts.
Perhaps you died violently. Perhaps not. Back in Wraith's days as a young ladies' finishing school, it had a bit of a run-in with a serial killer, and many spirits remain from those days. A few students have drowned in the lake, and a couple have just wandered into the woods, following some of the girls from the Victorian days, and not come out again. And then there are those who just die.
And yet, over the years, despite your influences, the academy has remained open and thriving.

STUDENTS
You are psychic.
It's far more complicated than that, but you are. There's a strangely high concentration of psychics at Wraith Academy, You see and hear the whispering, laughing ghosts moving through the halls, and at times it amazes you that others never notice them.
Most of you have had some form of a brush with death, one that left part of you standing on the other side. Whatever it was, you came out alive and with newfound abilities, abilities that you have been able to heighten at Wraith. A few of your teachers are psychics and former students, and many of them are helpful in this. Despite the school's history as a girls' school, it is now co-ed.

TEACHERS
You are a teacher.
Given that this is Wraith Academy, out in the swamp and haunted, your job is a big one. Perhaps you are a psychic who learned how to better control your powers as a student; more than likely you went to school at Wraith and came back to teach. The Headmistress was always more than wiling to open the doors back up to former students, regardless of what they have gone on to do before coming back. However, she has been recently replaced, and many teachers are coming under new scrutiny.
