Toya listened to what the woman was telling him, not sure whether the Montale name was supposed to mean anything to him or not. She was offering him the help that she could only give to one, and he had been chosen. Being a pet didn't sound like his favourite idea, and wasn't going to be his ticket out of the games, but if it got him out of this dungeon and gave him the chance to even catch a glimpse of his brother again.
He glanced towards the doorway again as he heard footsteps quickly approaching. His sensitive ears picked up two sets of footsteps, guessing that the male was returning with their father Lord Montale.
"I don't know how I'm going to thank you later, miss. I'll take all the help I can get," He said hurriedly, keeping his voice rather hushed so that he would've finished speaking by the time the men had arrived - it should've looked like the woman was still looking him over while waiting for her family's return.
