About thirteen seconds had passed by the time Phoenix and Imp managed to get on the roof. When phoenix leaped up through the hole the AI locked her in it's sights but before it could fire again another mutant jumped out from the top of the roof. The machine suddenly had to compensate for two mutants, either way it's primary target was Phoenix. It's gun had cooled down enough by now and it ran it's calculations again. Phoenix would see a bright flash off somewhere and if she remained still for another millisecond the bullet would tear a nasty gash through her right shoulder, meaning to disable both her arm and her wing at the same time. Moving right would send the bullet into her chest, moving left would get her arm grazed and her wing torn but better than both of them being totally disabled. Moving backwards was likely her best option at this time. Or throwing the other mutant in the way but she had just seen the first bullet go through a brick wall and still leave a terrible wound in Imp so moving Imp in the way would get them both shot and make another enemy. Either way the situation was dire. Whether the bullet went through her shoulder or went under her armpit or maybe through her arm they would hear the resounding crash of the sniper rifle half a second later.

The MARK just gargled out it's analysis of the situation towards it's main self. Infrared vision was no longer an option but now that they were out in the open, night vision was. Now the MARK either had to make chase or wait for the mutants to attack it. The sniper rifle would be another fifteen seconds in cooling down. If the mutants began to run it put away it's rifle and a moment later had launched it's drone into the air to keep an eye on the mutants escape path. If they had taken to the roofs it would keep staring down it's rifle at them. If they took to the streets it simply revved it's engine and drove off the edge of the building to land with it's treads spinning on the pavement. It jostled the machine but it would be perfectly fine. The shock absorbers it had on it's treads and movement algorithms inside it's mechanical head would help it cushion it's fall. This was of course only if they took to the streets.

If they meant to attack, the machine just waited where it was with it's sniper rifle in hand. It's red cyclops eye glaring without emotion at them.
