Amara’s eyes widened momentarily in shock at the count’s outburst, but her expression quickly became controlled, and she listened to his raging stonily, hiding her own incited anger by his eruption. “There is hardly cause for such an outburst milord.” Amara said stiffly, the only indication of her displeasure, before she continued to listen. He words only continued to spark her anger however, and it was soon impossible for it not to show on her face.

“I am suggesting no such thing, and I am quite aware of the role you play in protecting the empire. I apologize that you find our situation distasteful, and though you may find it a waste of your time and energies milord, it is certainly not a waste of mine. You would not apologized for trying to enlist help for your people if ever they needed it, and I will not do so for trying to do the same for mine.” Amara would have liked to say more to the patronizing man, but she had the good sense to end her retort there.

“Very well milord, ‘tis all I ask.” Amara replied to his decision, though she noted with some foreboding that he did not say it would be she whom he replaced Dayton with. Still, none could be worse that Dayton and his tyranny. Removing him and his band of wretches from her land had to take first priority.
