Citrine rounded another corner, and this time came face-to-face with a stark-naked M-type that she did not know. In just about any other situation, she would have found the entire thing humorous, but as it was, she could not incline herself to make any of the acerbic remarks that leapt to mind. As a point of fact, actually, this present situation did nothing more than confirm a loyalty to a cause that Citrine did not understand.

But these things were trivial, pale in importance to her true objective: the retrieval of Sable. Outside the area-of-effect of Azure's... whatever he did to disrupt her abilities, Citrine was once again at full functioning capacity, and so it was no difficult thing for her to locate her bond-sister's presence. Sable, she thought gently, not wanting to frighten what might already be a fearful young woman, depending on how things had progressed thus far. Do not worry. I am coming for you.

With that short message, she turned honey-colored eyes to the rebel who dared to stand between her and her friend, their captive, of all things. I know not who you are, nor what your purpose is in doing this, but I ask that you leave now and peaceably. If you do, I will not pursue you, but Sable comes home with me. Citrine was never one to make her threats or displays of power overt, but there was still something about the sensation of having your mind contacted by another that tended to unnerve those that were not used to it, and she could make it a good deal less comfortable if she chose.

Regardless of the woman's answer, Citrine activated her engine, making all thoughts, no matter how private, within a seventy-five foot radius as easy to know as if they had been dictated aloud to her. Lighting a fire in the other hand to supplement the one already in her left, she stood in a loose, ready stance, equally suited to all directions of movement. Her ability did not make her stronger or faster than others, but when applied correctly, it hardly mattered. What good would any of that do when your every move was telegraphed as you devised it?

Of course, she was not without disadvantages, and one of these was that her powers were difficult to control simultaneously. It was not always a simple thing to deal with an incoming flux of emotion and thought while maintaining an even-enough keel that the fire didn't risk getting out of hand, but she thought that for the moment at least, it was doable.
