A light and what did it contain but more pain for War? The strange garbed military man called himself Mr. Russo. A name that War learned to hate literally in minutes. He could take name calling, being referred to as freak wasn’t something entirely unusual. Neither was he uncomfortable with being frowned upon for his ways. All of these were trivial and War could care less.
Though something did catch his attention. Mr. Russo was busy trying to belittle them, but he didn’t hide why they were there. “I have picked you to join the new edition of Teen Titans.” This got War pondering for a moment. He wasn’t exactly native to Jump City but the Titans were not something that was a secret. He had heard of the legendary superheroes and even idolized them in a way. They were after all his direct inspiration for being a vigilante. If they needed a new set of Teen Titans, then the biggest question was what became of the former Teen Titans?
Jake cried out in shock, curled up in the fetal position and holding his stomach in pain. War’s eyes darted to Grey with no answer, then to Mr. Russo. Neither looked like they had moved, then the metallic woman chimed in something about needing power and War glanced towards where she and Evelyn now stood. What happened to Jake?
War got his answer when Jake was used as a battery against him. In one sweep the beast was thrown to the floor and once again it was seconds before he was back on his feet glaring at their would be drill sergeant. If not for War’s curiosity he would have retaliated in kind. For himself he wanted to figure out if being a Titan could in fact serve his ultimate goal. To have his revenge on those that made him a monster.

When items were given none came to war save a communicator on a belt. War had no personal equipment and lived by his strange hybrid body alone. The items that did appear were not actually his but a gift and necessity if they were going to be a team. That’s when Mr. Russo made the mistake of giving them last demands and questions.

“What if we refuse? We have no reason to play pajama police with you…”

War sounded tough, but he was trying to find out if the government was going to ’buy’ his loyalty. If so War wasn’t going to waste time cashing in on it.
