The coffee machine shuddered and whirred into life, a burst of steam followed by a searing stream of dark brown liquid into the cup. A bandaged hand reached out and grabbed it, tipping several sachets of sugar in before lifting it to the two-toned lips of trainee Fox, who leaned back against the wall with a sigh.

She couldn't sleep. Her body clock was rather haywire, still trying to settle itself back into some sort or ordinary rhythm after the drastic alterations to her physiology. At the beginning she'd been living seventy-two hours days, and it had been a nightmare. Things were slowly getting back to almost normal, but it still meant she was awake rather a lot of the time that she should be sleeping.

She didn't mind too much...but it was awfully dull being awake in the facility at night, with more of the trainees fast asleep. All you could do was power training, and she wasn't really keen on practicing her more than she needed, due to the unpleasant effects involved.

So she hovered around the corridor, drunk coffee and flipped through some of the papers and magazines the guards had left lying around. More gifted terror attacks in Washington...she frowned as she looked over the photos, mismatched eyes narrowing. She really couldn't want to get out and track people like that down. Gifted and alt-specs...they were savages, they truly were. Good thing the AGC was around to protect the public...who know where they'd be without them..
