My room was a haven. The roomate and I rarely were in at the same time, with the testing and all. Thsi privacy gave me time to draw back the curtais that darkened the decent sized “cell” and light flooded in. I let it burn into my skin, that sweet scent of freedom baking into my pigments. They let us go outside, sure, but it wasn't the same. It wasn't the freedom I desired. Hoped for.
I barely heard the second knock before a Scientist entered. I never called them by their given names. They wanted us to know them, to feel more comfortable and secure about the things they did.
