Minnie's anger immediatly evaporated. She'd been wondering who her roomate was going to be all day long! And now she finally knew. She was ecstatic. She was going to get to share a room with Emily, which made sense because she was closest in age to her. Either way, she was excited. It was going to be like a non-stop slumber party!

"Ohhhh! Okay! Emily, our room is right there," she enthused, pointing to the room right across the hall, "I'll be in in a minute. I already made room for your stuff!"
With that, she skippped down the stairs happily, her anger forgotton. She looked in the kitchen, but it was empty. She heard voices in the living room and followed them.

When she entered the living room she saw Autumn half sprawled on the couch, mascara running down her wet cheeks. Hope sat behind her, apparently trying to soothe the crying girl.

"Awww Autumn!" she exclaimed, rushing over, "What's the matter? Are you okay?"

Upstairs, Luke was passed out on his new bed, his pillow over his head, sleeping soundly. He was one of those people who could sleep no matter where he was, or what time it was, or what was going on. He loved sleeping, it was a great escape from stress. He was a heavily sleeper and even his father had always had a challenge waking him up whenever he bothered to try. Luke always slept for extended periods of time and now that he didn't have school to wake up for, he planned on sleeping until noon.
