Hope blinked at the blonde girl as she walked by. She couldn't have been too much older than herself, and it was very fazing. How many people in the world were like her? How many people were completely unknown to society, or were thought to be missing?
Was her mother one of them?
Hope smiled when the girl spoke, and even opened her mouth to speak, but the other girl was already gone, leaving her words hanging in the crisp, almost winter air.
"It's probably not safe,"
Hope smile fell, and she quickly slipped inside. There was a small mudroom area right inside the door, and Hope noted that some shoes were simply thrown into a pile in the corner, while others were arranged neatly. The coat racks lining the wall on either side of her were pretty much filled, and the small room stepped up into what looked like a living area, with plush looking leather furniture and a fireplace.
Hope had barely pulled off her shoes and found an out-of-the-way spot for them when the doorbell rang from behind her. She jumped, and turned around, opening the door and peeking out.
"I think you can just come in," Hope told the two boys waiting outside, opening the doorway wider. "That's what I was told to do, at least," She strained to remember their names from the news article, and after a moment they came to her. "Riley and Jagger, right?" She asked, stepping aside so they could come in.

Dan sighed, walking away from the window in his office. Three of the four bitten had arrived, and only one was left before he'd have to go out and get everyone situated. He was sure that Evangeline was nearby, watching and waiting for her moment to strike.
