Hayley tightened her grip on her bag. She needed to be more talkative to others if she wanted to stay-- at least, that's what her dad told her, and Hayley always listened to what her dad said. Looking around at the other people in the large room made her stomach curl. She felt so young and small compared to most everyone else, who seemed to be decades older than her. She took a giant gulp of air and sighed, then walked up onto the stage and stood next to the girl reading her script.
"Hi, I'm Hayley," she said, taking an extra effort to smile.
