Gambrill shifted back and forth in his small space, the chains around his ankles clattering as he tried to stretch his muscles. As the sunlight shone through the small cracks in his stall, it was days like these when he questioned why he was bound and chained where other servants to the Queen were not. Of course though she would come and give him reasons that made all the sense in the world, as if being here with his wings bound until he was to take flight was best for him. That woman seemed to be able to twist anyone with her sweet words and if not, that's why he was there, to scare them into her service.

As he stood there thinking, a sound caught his attention and with his good eye, he peered in between a crack spotting the Queen with a small child in tow. He watched them both quietly as they walked across the garden and back into the palace. Why did she suddenly have such a young servant? With a huff, he pulled away from the wall and thought it over until he realized the side of the palace she had entered, the one where children go in but never return, the witch. Shaking his head sadly, deep down he knew why he was in chains because they feared he might try to escape. Where would he go though? His home had been destroyed, everything was changing so its best to just sit back and accept his place now right?
