When she smiled at his name, she seemed to look lighter, with less worries troubling her. She had this beauty that was not commercial when she smiled but when she did not, the whole place around her seemed darker somehow and she would look dim and down like she did earlier. Scott chuckled when she commented on his name. "Oh really?" He leaned forward slightly, now curious, "So where are you from then? Doesn't seem as though it's anywhere near." He kept quiet for a while, then continued with an explanation. "I mean, the way you speak, it's quite different, though I don't recognize the accent."

He looked at her but she had seemed to be spacing out, staring into nothingness. Awkwardly, he leaned back against the booth chair and stretched. After a while, she seemed unresponsive and Scott wondered if it was anything that he had said. He could not remember saying anything offensive and thought that maybe he had said something but forgotten.

Sighing, he rested his elbows on the table, still awkwardly waiting for the girl to say something, or even move. He grabbed the glass of beer and swallowed the rest of the liquid before putting it down and ordering another from a passing waitress. Suddenly, he heard the girl speak and turned to her, surprised to hear her abrupt voice. She started with introducing her name but stopped before revealing it. For a while, she lingered in thought and Scott thought that she would fall back into her trance when she said her name was Dove.

"Hmm. Dove, huh? Well that is quite a foreign name. Haven't come across it before." He watched her pull her eyes towards the table like a person would when in sorrow. "Peace?" When she raised her hand to her chest, he could see pain strike in her eyes and he quickly leaned forward and placed a hand on her back.

"Hey, are you alright?"
