Marina watched as he went over to the guards, listening as he explained the situation to them.
Sydo would not be happy if they went alone but she didn’t care, both she and Zet knew that they had to find out what was going on with Ryu. She refused to believe that he was the one doing this, Ryu was not a murderer, but at the same time she couldn’t figure out why anyone would want to use his name. Surely word had got around that he was dead... they’d have to discover the truth soon if they were going to protect his name.
When Zet returned and mentioned about needing a horse, she frowned slightly.
How were they going to get a horse?
Then she caught sight of a familiar face among the guards.
“Wait here a moment.” She said to Zet, walking over to the same guard who they had met the other night. “Excuse me, we need a little help.”
He turned at the sound of the voice... and froze when he saw Marina.
“Um... what kind of help?” He asked, quickly checking that no one was watching.
“We need a horse but we’re not entirely sure where to get one. Do you think you can help us? It’s really important.”
“By us you mean...”
“Me and Zet.”
He hesitated, looking over to the other guards but then he saw Marina put a hand on her whip.
“Sure! No problem! The stables are this way, if you’d like to follow me.”
Marina smiled, waiting for Zet to catch up before following the guard.
“I hope he won’t be scared of me forever.” She whispered softly.
