Damien watched Isidora leave, then turned around himself and headed back towards his dorm room. "Well, Bandersnatch, it seems I may have snared a girl. What am I to do?" he asked in mock-deep thought. The Bandersnatch gowled in response. "Oh come off it. You seem to have like her, the way you let her pet you. Really, Bandersnatch. Are you gouing soft on me? I can't be having a soft frumilous Bandersnatch on my hands. That's practically useless and you know I'm not a fan of useless things," he said ominously. The Bandersnatch growled louder, causing Damien to chuckled. "I get the picture. Now, back to the girl. What shall I do? Shall I lead her on, woo her at the dance, then break her heart? No, that won't do. It'll shatter all my future social and political connections to people she's associated with. Perhaps," he said as he pushed the door open, followed by a disgruntled Bandersnatch, "I shall allow this to naturally progress. Driving her away would be like throwing away a potentially important chess peice. You have to explore all options to get the checkmate, you know." Damein opened up one of his suitcases and threw the randpom clothes out, searching for the tuxedo he was
sure he had brought. "Ah ha!" he exclaimed as he pulled
it out. Now, all he needed was a mask. He hung the tuxedo up carefully and opened his other trunk up in search of a mask. "Now I know that among the other useless things Mother ordered me to take was a mask," he mumbled as he through the random contents of the suitcase around. Among them included: A flamingo, a deck of cards, a teacup (which did not break, surprisingly), a wilting rose, and a chess set. Damien continued like this for several minutes before turning toward the Bandersnatch with a triumphant look on his face. He held up a
black and red mask.
