They had seemed for a moment to not want to let her back to her ship and then let her go. It was such a releif to be back on familiar territory. she couldn't have left it on their ship. it was like a part of her and she hated being away from it for long. Po was a calming influence in her mind and on her shoulder. She rubbed the side of his tummy with her cheek and nose and he licked it almost seeming to grin at her. She smiled, calm and in control again. She got in her ship and within moments was ready to go and exiting the launch bay. She loved being in space. The sheer vastness of it and the quiet just seemed to seep into her bones and soothe them. She flew out of the bay and down to the landing pad knowing the shuttle wouldn't be far behind. She could see Katt nearby and made a mental note to thank her.

It would be good for the aliens to see that they had had contact with other species from other planets and that they weren't as primitive as she could tell they thought they were. Alexis stood next to the Generals and the president herself and her aids were even there waiting in a line to greet the aliens. Tasha exited and saluted as soon as she came close enough and after their return salute took a place next to General Hagen. She glanced at him and he gave her a small nod. He had been her childhood friend and they still talked as often as possible. Though he was tall and lean with a chiseled chin and dashing good looks with soft raven black hair that fell over his forehead and beautiful blue eyes and a great body, she had only ever seen him as a good friend.

She was a career woman through and through and didn't really believe in love. But she caught Alexis' blush when Rafe seemed to glance in her direction. She smiled slightly. She had known for some time that Alexis had a crush on Rafe but their was a six year age gap. Rafe being 24 and Alexis at 18. The shuttle's landing turned her attention back to the task at hand. If this was a trap these aliens would see what they were made of. Until that time though she would keep a sharp eye out and be welcoming and civil to them.

The whole line of people waitied until the aliens were close enough. President Sophia Tersick smiled her face was angular and one of those that could never have been pretty but was handsome.
