Althea sat down on the bed, watching Xouge for a moment.
He appeared to go to sleep... while standing up.
There was no doubt about it, this guy was by far the strangest person she had ever met. Even with her reasonably isolated life she had still managed to meet quite a few people but never anybody like this. He just didn't seem right. Still, he wasn't interested in talking and although that meant she hadn't managed to get much information out of her it also meant he would be less likely to find out who she really was. That was the most important thing.
Besides which, now she had a partner it meant she knew what to do with the crown after Aelthar had been cured. She didn't want to keep it and although Aelthar would probably tell her she would be stupid to give it away, as long as he was alive she didn't give a toss.
Part of her wondered what Xouge wanted the crown for. Power? Wealth? Or maybe, like her, he had a more personal reason for wanting to get the crown but just didn't want anybody to know? Hopefully she would find out, she wanted him to start talking more to her if they were going to be together for a while.
Looking down, Althea took a small phial of black liquid from her armour before drinking a small sip of it.
Sparthma root solution, that dose would make sure that she would wake before first light.
Replacing the phial in her armour, she lay down on the bed, taking one last look at Xouge before closing her eyes and drifting off to sleep.
Tommorrow they would begin their journey to get the crown and slay the prince. It was going to be difficult, and now with Xouge it was going to be slightly more awkward for her. Although she felt sure she could keep her secret from him, it was still going to be hard to adjust to.
But if they got the crown, it would be worth it.
