Marielle's mind suddenly clicked as she recognized the alien with the tail. This species was relatively new to interstellar space flight, much like Tasha's species. Some years ago, their ruler sent ships out into deep space seeking the possibility of interstellar trade. Then, the ships returned home, never to appear again. There had been talk of sending a mission to these aliens, but the Empress was unimpressed with the idea. According to her, the aliens possessed nothing of value, and such a mission would be a waste of resources at a time when astronomers were studying a world that held far greater potential and far greater risks.

Realizing the alien noticed her staring, Marielle stepped forward.

"My apologies," she said with a smile. "You must be the one they call 'Katt'. It is a pleasure to meet you."
