"See, that's the weird thing though..." Xypher removed his hand from the back of his neck, to which it had migrated, to his chin, giving it a thoughtful scratch. "I'm not sure why this bothers me, but he's been around for longer than I have, and until Ari found him, I don't think he knew anything about Genesis or mutants at all..." His shoulders lifted in a slight shrug, and his hand fell to the bartop, his fingers tapping a fidgeted rhythm completely different than the one playing in the current song blasting away in the background. "I guess I'm just surprised he's managed to stay under our radars for that long."

The man glanced over his shoulder at the departing girls as Brihan described her experience with them. "Huh... Well you, girl, are crazy for even thinking that in the first place." He smirked at her, before turning his attention to a rather-flustered Rat. He wasn't sure what had gotten him so, but he did find it mildly amusing. "Hey Rat, 'ol boy, could you spare me a glass of vodka?" He said, practically yelling over the loud trans-style music.

"No," Xy's eyes widened at mention of the retaliatory strike. "I didn't hear anything about that. It doesn't really surprise me, though. I trust the decision of the Three, so if they feel it is necessary, then it must be necessary." Rat slid a nigh full glass to him, which he swiftly caught and lifted to his mouth, not spilling a drop. He took a swig, and his face screwed up as that all-too-familiar burning sensation made its way down his throat. "In any case, I'm sure they wouldn't be as unreasonable to make the attack any time soon. We need get together all of the mutants in our network, supply ourselves with suitable equipment, give combat training to those who don't have any... If we are given enough time to do so, then we should be perfectly fine." There was a clear look of distaste apparent upon his face as he tried to convince himself that it would. He was well aware that casualties were an unfortunate part of battle, and he was well aware that he wouldn't always be able to prevent them. That didn't stop him from feeling guilt.
