A. Golikova
Castle Main Building, Second Floor (F9)

Golikova took a step into the new room immediately, gun drawn and flashlight out, though she soon deemed both unnecessary, for the moment. Assuming Stone would simply follow her inside, the Russian advanced on the telescope. Zis is awfully decrepit, she thought to herself, it has not been used in a vile, perhaps. Actually, most of the machinery in here looked... old. How old, she couldn't say without accurate knowledge of when exactly now was, but perhaps something in here would have information on what this place was.

Obviously, some kind of astronomical work happened in this room, but she could not say what its relative importance was to, say, the botanical research. Though if she considered both the room with the plants she'd been in earlier and the one she'd just come from, plus all the dust in here, the biological component was much more important to someone. Still, this bore looking into. Her first concern was survival, but information could only help them survive at this point.

She bent to look at some of the floppy disks, reading names and dates that by themselves scarcely meant anything to her. Perhaps one of these computers could be plugged in and the files looked over? She picked a couple up off the floor, but her attention was soon caught by the other side of the room. Golikova advanced to the laboratory tables and scanned over the glassware. That was not really the way to take care of a lab, was it? Perhaps someone had left with haste? There was still water in the sink... Someone has been here more recently zan I zought... blue eyes immediately narrowed with suspicion, and she turned slowly, scanning the area more carefully this time.

Hang on... what was that? Something was reflecting the lamplight oddly. Golikova crossed the room and examined the metal prism and the attached wires, not really sure what it might be. "Stone... you should see zis..." It was then that she realized Stone was not present. "Stone?" She tried again, heading back to the door, only to find the young woman on her knees, apparently imploring her deity for assistance. Golikova had no idea if she was religious or not, but the action struck her as completely inappropriate for the situation, and she frowned, as notable a facial expression as she'd bothered with thus far. "Stone." she repeated, tone flat, but definitely audible this time. "Unless you have a very good reason to still be in zis room, I would recommend you do not linger."

What she did not say was that by doing so, she had potentially put them both in danger. Far be it from Golikova to state the obvious. She trusted that her point would make itself, and turned back into the observatory.
