A Raichu stood perched on on the balcony of the local hotel, watching as the electrical storm in the distance lit the sky up in a fantastic display of light. The Raichu seemed to be mesmerized by each streaking finger of the lightning. So mesmerized in fact, that the pokemon didn't see the approach of the Flareon behind him from the hotel room interior... With the silence and grace of a fox or a cat, the Flareon jumped to the balcony beside the Raichu, startling the mouse-pokemon out of his trance. The Raichu grasped the railing of the balcony with both paws and tail to avoid falling, and the Flareon gave what would have to be the pokemon equivalent of a laugh. Another laugh came from inside the room, although this laugh was lighter in tone and came from a different pokemon, one who was watching the two from inside.
The Raichu furrowed it's brow at the Flareon, clearly agitated, but only for a second as the smile from the Flareon dissolved any anger the Raichu held. Then, the Raichu chuckled even, before growing a bit more serious and pointed at the electrical storm at the horizon. It blended in with the night sky almost perfectly, although each streak of lightning illuminated the clouds. The Flareon looked towards the designated area, but was clearly not as interested at the Raichu as he merely tilted his head to his side in a shrug. Though uninterested, the Flareon kept it's post beside the Raichu. Clearly the pokemon had a bond of friendship between them. Both stayed on the balcony looking off in the distance.
Inside the room, A trainer sat on the foot of the bed with a Chikorita fast asleep in his arms. They had a long day of traveling and had just managed to beat the growing storm to the town they were in. A Marill, the owner of the other laugh, watched the Raichu and Flareon through the doorway of the balcony. She would have been out there with the two, but the electrical storm scared the Marill and she wished not to be anywhere within sight of it. She was content to be within sight of her two friends.
Earlier that day, The trainer and his pokemon had a skirmish with a couple of Luxios. The Marill had not been called upon during the battle but the rest of them had. It was a drawn out battle, with the Chikorita sustaining the brunt of the injuries. The Flareon and Raichu had worked in tandem in order to save the Chikorita and protect their trainer, who was both grateful and proud of his friends. However, they did not escape completely unscathed either, but were better off than the Chikorita. The trainer had rushed into the town and restored his pokemon's vitally. There, he decided to go a head a take up a room, both for his pokemon's sake and his.
About this time, the Raichu and Flareon spotted a mass riding into town. It was another trainer riding on a Mightyena. At this sight, the Raichu turned on the railing and called into the room, trying to get the Trainer's attention, "Chu, chu!" He called. The trainer heeded this call and approached the balcony, moving slowly so as to not wake the Chikorita. "What is it Light?" He asked, calling the pokemon by it's nickname. At the prompt, the Raichu, Lightning pointed at the girl. The trainer got a good look at the trainer and then glanced at Lightning, then to the Flareon, speaking to the flame-like pokemon. "What do you think, Sabre? Should we great her?" He asked. In response the Flareon, Sabre, nodded and hopped down from the railing and went inside, followed by the Raichu. Jack took one last look at the Trainer and followed suit.
In the room, He called back the still sleeping Chikorita back into it's pokeball. "Sleep tight, Leafy," He wished as the pokemon entered it's ball still sleeping. He then turned to the Marill and spoke, "You too Whisper, I know you don't like the Lightning," He said softly. In response the Marill waited for her pokeball's calling. After she had returned, he walked out of the door with Sabre and Lightning leading the way.
Before long, the stood in the road before the girl and the Mightyena. Sabre, on reflex, approached the Mightyena and proceeded to sniff at the strange pokemon while Lightning stayed at his trainer's side. There, the trainer spoke to the girl, "Hey, in a rush?" He asked, "Getting kinda nasty out there, isn't it?" He asked again. The Raichu hummed in agreement with his trainer. "Oh hey, I'm Jack by the way," He said, just remembering his name. Lightning let out what seemed to be a giggle.
